Description

• Coordinating and prioritizing ventilations and occupational hygiene service delivery
• Implementing and maintaining ventilation and occupational hygiene monitoring program.
• Conducting risk assessments and hazard identifications, identifying potential hazardous materials and installations, and investigating serious problems encountered
• Ensuring that all working conditions are regulatory audited

Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent NQF 4 qualifications with Maths and Science
• Intermediate Certificate in Mine Environmental Control (COM).
• The applicant should be a member of Mine Ventilation Society of South Africa.  
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Ventilation and Occupation Hygiene practices.
• Valid certificate of physical fitness for underground work.
• Ability to communicate with people on different levels.
• Computer literacy. (Excel, Word)
• Report writing and presentation skills.

Description

• Ensure proper observation of the regulations and compliance with lawful order given in the interests of safety and health, by every person employed in the area of responsibility
• Ensure effective resource utilization and optimization.
• Evaluate theoretical concepts and design improvements.
• Develop and maintain a document management system to ensure efficient storage and access of information.
• Work according to the Mine’s Code of Practice and report deviations.
• Ensure adherence and compliance to Safety, Health and Environmental processes.

Requirements

• NQF 4 (National Senior Certificate or Grade 12 Certificate) Metalliferous Mining Blasting Certificate
• Mine Overseer’s Certificate of Competency or Mine Manager Certificate
• Minimum Five (5) years production experience in a mechanized mining environment
• Minimum of Five (5) years as a Shiftboss or Production Supervisor in a Greenstone environment
• Medium- and Short-term planning experience 
• Code 8 Drivers License 
• Valid certificate of physical fitness
