    Claims Administrator

    Job Description:

    As a Claims Administrator, your responsibilities will include:

    • Timeous and accurate capturing of claims
    • Scanning and filing of paper claims
    • Informing customers / providers regarding unclear / incomplete invoices via appropriate methods (e-mail and in writing / telephonically)
    • Answering phones and resolving claim queries within determined SLA.
    • Transferring customer calls to appropriate staff, where necessary.
    • Identifying, researching, and resolving customer / provider issues using the computer system.
    • Following up on customer / provider enquires not immediately resolved, within determined SLA’s.
    • Completing call logs and reports.
    • Following and adhering to claim processes, procedures and protocol
    • Recognising, documenting, and alerting the supervisor of trends with processing of claims.

    Strata Control Officer C5 - Burgersfort

    Job Description:

    You will be tasked with performing the following activities;

    • To undertake regular underground visits to monitor compliance to support standards and to delineate areas with possible strata control problems
    • Carry out appropriate rock engineering measurement and input relevant data into plans and layouts
    • Gives training to the operations personnel in strata control factors and reporting to the HRD Manager
    • Liaise with the Shift Supervisors to determine their individual needs according to their operational plans or problems encountered.
    • Monitor underground conditions and reporting to the Shaft Rock Engineer.
    • Guideline management in standards for section safety and performance.
    • Audit mining standards for support and pillars to ensure conformance
    • Monitor legal conformance to procedures and standards in terms of rock engineering responsibilities e.g. Codes of Practice during underground visits.
    • Participation in the investigation of relevant rock engineering related incidents and accidents and support the Shaft Rock Engineer with rock engineering information to compile reports.
    • Do regular RMR’s during underground visits to build up a database and monitor as well as compile reports on the stability of underground workings.
    • Assist the Shaft Rock Engineer with the monthly risk assessments on the stope plans and assist with the reviewing of mining layouts.
    • This role is a C5 level reporting to the Shaft Rock Engineer.

    Qualifications:

    • Matric with Mathematics and Science
    • Strata Control certificate
    • Competent B certificate (advantageous)
    • ETDP training qualification and Assessor will be advantageous

    Job Description:

    The purpose of this role is to provide communication and engagement support to the Engagement Manager providing business partner support to the Global Shared Services (GSS) discipline in delivering its strategy and objectives.     The Safety Officer is a legal appointment in terms of regulation 2.17.4 of the Minerals Act

    Section Manager – Capital Development

    Job Description:

    The Section Manager will ensure the safe, efficient and cost controlled execution of the mine plan and schedule to exceed project deliverables and ramp up capital development at the Bottom of Mine. Establish systems and processes for effective work planning & execution control, & that performance standards meet required standards – establish high performance operating culture.  Challenge and support Mining Planning and Technical design processes in ensuring mine plans, technical functions and schedules provide inputs to support safe and efficient mining operations.  Guide equipment selection and monitor performance and maintenance effectiveness of the mining contractor.  Seek early opportunities to introduce supporting new technologies to improve execution of works.

    • Focus on compliance to standards and best practice in health, safety, environmental.  supports a culture toward zero harm.
    • Ensures site work is completed in adherence to the Project Safety, Health and Environmental Plan and the De Beers / Anglo Safety, Health and Environmental standards and systems.
    • Ensure agreed and approved mine plans and schedules are executed by the mining contractor to achieve a high compliance delivery to plan.
    • Liaise and co-ordinate between the site contractor’s management teams, the EPC (WP) and project owners + site teams to ensure effective engagement, planning and execution of work.
    • Effective management of mining contractor performance, ensuring high operating performance standards, productive use of equipment and resources, and an uncompromising approach to Safety. 
    • Drives and supports a collaborative approach to continuous improvement in performance outcomes and productivity of the mining contractor.  Actively manages and contributes to P101 improvement initiatives in the Bottom of Mine to establish best practice mechanised mining performance.
    • Co-ordinates meetings and management routines between the Owner and Mining Contractor (and other contractors as required) to ensure effective Short Interval control processes are applied to support a high performance and compliance, high reliability work culture within the mine contractor and owners mining team.
    • Effective engagement and management of interfaces and relationship with Contractors team, Mining Technical support functions – Ventilation, Geotechnical, Mine Planning, Survey and operational Geology to support efficient mechanised mining performance.
    • Monitor contractor risk and safety management performance, ensuring critical risks and hazards continuously identified and controlled.  Compliance to risk management standards.
    • Develop and maintain an integrated team approach between the Owners + site teams, mining contractor, EPCM, suppliers, internal and external company stakeholders (Anglo and DB).
    • Ensure all site mining activities meet requirements as defined by standards and requirements (per “Outputs”).
    • Manages work priorities in support of the Snr Manager as required.
    • Carries a statutory Appointment as required by Senior Mining Manager

    Qualifications:

    • An undergraduate qualification (Bachelors / Honours Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in a relevant mining engineering discipline.
    • Mine Managers Certificate of Competence
    • Minimum of 5 years in an Underground Mining Leadership role

    Role-specific knowledge:

    • Knowledge and understanding of Mining laws, regulations, codes and guidelines preferred, not essential.
    • Leadership and practical experience in Underground mechanised Mining Management of modern, mechanised mines in both project development and steady state operation.
    • Experience in capital development including large excavation development, silo and shaft sinking, equipping thereof is preferred. 
    • Front line management experience in underground mechanised mining jumbo development mines, and underground construction in medium-large scale operations.
    • Leadership and practical experience in performance management of a major mechanised mining contractor – Safety, Performance, Cost, Technical.
    • knowledge of Project Management concepts, including Cost Control/ Engineering, Project Integration, Project Commercial Management, Project Risk Management and Document & Data Management.
    • Knowledge and experience with business improvement processes

    Job Description:

    Your key responsibilities will include:

    • On a monthly basis ensure that the integrity of the Vendor Reconciliation is maintained through the completion of all reconciliations with special note on overdue items
    • Ensure all transactions are agreed to source by way of 3rd party statement or other valid supporting documentation as appropriate.
    • Perform Vendor reconciliation with high volume line items.
    • Resolve overdue balances, GRIR, submission of Invoices, recoveries, and ensure vendor recons standard is adhered too.

    • Oversee the contracting services rendered to the entire mine by assisting in developing a scope and managing the commercial process to appoint Contractors. Manage relevant contractors on site and ensure adherence to rules and regulations. Monitor contractor performance in accordance with SLA's. Maintain and improve operational supporting systems and procedures including management of contractor performance against service level agreements.
    • Monitor tasks delegated to subordinates to ensure Department effectiveness and targets are met.
    • Monitor spending and allocate expenses appropriately. Review and submit invoices.
    • Plan, organize, lead, control and develop subordinates' activities. Do performance reviews.
    • This role is in the Engineering Department at Band 7 and will be reporting to the Engineering Superintendent. 

    Qualifications:

    • Matric / Grade 12 / Standard 10 or N3 
    • Trade Certificate Section 13/26D (Fitter, Boilermaker) 
    • Foreman Certificate (advantageous)

    Experience, Skills & Knowledge:

    • 5 years’ post trade qualification experience 
    • 5 years’ supervisory experience in a Foreman role (Trackless underground) conveyer belt / pumping / Chairlifts/ Compressors/ Ventilation Fans / (advantageous)
    • Own reliable vehicle & valid driving licence code 08 
    • Computer literacy (Word / Excel / Outlook / SAP) 
    • If successful, you will be required to undergo a Medical Fitness Test.
