    Dry Goods Controller

    Applications are invited for the above-mentioned position based in the Dry Goods Department: Supply Chain, Springs. The successful candidate will report to the to the Dry Goods Manager.

    Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:

    • Achieve business plan through alignment with company and divisional planning.
    • Control OPEX for the department 
    • Management of dry goods stock
    • Control and limit stock variances including waste.
    • Manage the Dry Goods store functions so that targets set are met and that operational methods are continually challenged and improved upon 
    • Effectively control the loading and offloading of contracted transport
    • Ensure that the department is operating at acceptable safety/housekeeping standards. 
    • Achieve service quality. 
    • Operational involvement
    • Ensure competent and motivated subordinates.
    • Attain subordinates’ development plans.
    • Innovation and business improvements in support of operational and segment goals
       

    The successful candidate must have the following experience/skills:

    • ND: Logistics / Warehousing or equivalent qualification.
    • 3 – 5 years experience in controlling functions of a warehouse environment
    • Experience / background in a stores / purchasing environment.
    • Relevant experience in the management of subordinates.
    • Computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, Power Point (SAP will be advantageous).

    • Innovative, analytical and pro-active
    • Must be able to communicate effectively with suppliers and internal customers.
    • Knowledge and experience in administrative principles
    • Knowledge of ISO and HACCP systems

    Temp Cellar Admin Controller - Wadeville

    Applications are invited for the above mentioned position to be based in Secondary Production, Wadeville.  This person will report to the Cellar Manager.
     
    You will be required to do the following:

    • Complete weekly overtime request; weekly overtime capturing and monthly overtime capturing with feedback to Unit Managers and approval from Cellar Manager on time. 
    • Complete weekly casual request and liaise with Cellar Manager for approval. 
    • Complete monthly ICC reports with feedback to the Cellar Manager.
    • Ensure effective admin housekeeping of source documentation books and production records for all areas. 
    • Prepare and report on budget expenditures on a monthly basis. 
    • Replenish office consumables in time within budget.
    • Place requestion and obtain approvals within a set time frame.
    • Conduct weekly spot checks on source documentation books.
    • Sign all offloading documentations for checks on proper record-keeping.
       

    The successful candidate must have the following experience/skills:

    • Computer literate with MS Excel (advance), MS Office and knowledge of SAP Production Environment.
    • Post matric qualification in a business-related qualification.
    • 3 years admin experience in a production environment.
    • Can conduct stocktake in a prepared manner with strong ownership.
    • Strong organizational skills and deadline driven.
    • Good time management skills and self-management skills. 
    • Ability to work independently and within a team
    • Good communication skills – both verbal and written. 
    • Can multi-task and handle pressure

    Machine Operator (Cellars) - Springs

    Applications are invited for the above-mentioned position to be based at Springs, Supply Chain, within Cellar: Blending Department. Successful candidates will report to the Cellar Team Leader

     

    Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:

    • Offloading of bulk raw materials
    • Citric and M163 make up
    • Operating of bulk and or sheet filter
    • Operating of Centec Blender
    • Draw samples and submit to Lab
    • Hunter’s, Savanna, Esprit, Benini, Sweetening makes up
    • QC additions
    • Transfers
    • Housekeeping
    • Caustic make-up
    • CIP of all cellar equipment and lines
       

    The successful candidate must have the following experience/skills:

    • Grade 12
    • 1 – 2 years’ experience Operating in a Cellars environment
    • Physically healthy and strong.
    • Ability to work on heights and confined spaces.
    • Ability to work under pressure.
    • A forklift licence will be considered beneficial.
    • Must be able to work with little to no supervision.
    • Willingness to work shifts, especially night shift.

    Lab Analyst - Paarl

    Applications are invited for the above-mentioned position in the Quality Department: Central Laboratory, based at Monis in Paarl. The successful incumbent will report to the Intrinsic Quality Manager.

    Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:

    • Performing accurate and timeous analyses
    • Driving business efficiency through workstation optimization and effective resource utilization
    • Ensuring leading product quality by analysing, tracking and trending reference controls
    • Maintaining the Quality Management System and Good Laboratory Practices
    • Driving reliability through governance standards framework execution including method development, verification and validation routines
    • Implementing and driving asset care programs for laboratory equipment and instruments in area of responsibility
    • Performing all relevant administrative and process duties
    • Initiating and assisting in root cause determining problem solving
    • Instilling a quality culture in his/her area of responsibility and sphere of influence
    • Building and maintaining effective and trusting relationships with internal customers and peers
    • Enhancing customer experience by achieving and/or exceeding targeted customer service levels

    The successful candidate must have the following qualification, skills and experience:

    • A relevant Degree / Diploma in Natural Science (e.g. Food Technology, Analytical Chemistry, etc.)
    • Relevant working experience in an analytical laboratory (working experience in a wine-related intrinsic laboratory will be advantageous)
    • Strong numerical aptitude and analytical capabilities are essential
    • Proven computer literacy in MS Office suite (knowledge of LIMS will be advantageous)
    • Working knowledge of Health and Safety standards and procedures, HACCP, BRC, ISO 9001, 14001, 1841, IFS, ISO17025 etc
    • Sound problem-solving abilities
    • Ability to work accurately under pressure
    • Sound quality assurance acumen with a focus on execution culture
    • Demonstrated affinity for attention to detail
    • Proven verbal and written communication skills
    • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a team
    • Must be able to think innovatively
    • Ability and willingness to work shifts and/or extended hours as and/or when required
    • Must have reliable transport to and from work
    • Ability to cope with the inherent physical demands of the position

    The successful candidate must preferably have the following experience / skills / qualifications:

    • At least a diploma in biological or food science; BSc degree or equivalent
    • At least 2 years relevant work experience in the fast-moving consumer goods environment preferably in the alcoholic beverage industry 
    • Previous working experience with a Food Safety Management System
    • Advanced computer skills and excellent communication skills are also needed
    • Must be self-motivated and able to work without supervision
    • Ability to work under pressure
    • Methodical, accurate and conscientious worker
    • Working knowledge of safety procedures and housekeeping standards
    • Have reliable transport
