    Regional Business Controller

    Main Responsibilities or Functions of the Job

    • To ensure that the future direction of the companies, expressed in strategies, goals and targets, are reflected in the planning process for the region.
    • To ensure that the regional management has well documented action plans to support the strategy and that plans for corrective actions exist if there are deviations from agreed plans.
    • To ensure that leading business indicators and highlights/red flags are produced to support management in steering the business. Furthermore to closely follow up the development of the companies in the region versus trends and analyse deviations from agreed plans.
    • To initiate and run benchmarking and leading practice projects in order to learn from others and improve processes in the region.
    • To participate in various projects and internal audits within Epiroc.
    • To secure that solid asset management procedures are in place, safeguarding that the region operates with a minimum of capital tied up.
    • To safeguard that the accounting is in accordance with the local statutory accounting practices in each country in the region and that monthly and quarterly group reports are correct, complete and on time.
    • To make sure that appropriate risk awareness and internal control procedures are in place and that external and internal auditors get necessary support in the region.
    • To analyse, report and suggest improvements in the way we work in collaboration with the business and the Regional Centre of Excellence
    • Maintaining relationships with banks, financial institutions and authorities within the region where relevant
    • In addition to the regional role, the successful incumbent will also be responsible for the Business Control role for the Customer Center in the country where they are based.
    • Will carry out any other function or duty as may be required in terms of “The Epiroc Way”

    Educational Requirements, Experience and Skills

    • Chartered Account is required. Post Grad qualification in Management will be advantageous
    • Broad experience of accounting and finance in multinational companies
    • Leading without formal authority
    • Very good command of English
    • Finance & Administration process understanding & proven Accounting knowledge
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office tools like Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Knowledge of ERP systems like BPCS, Infor M3.
    • Official training and experience in project management a plus
    • Drives change and energy through collaboration and development
    • Proactive looking for improvements from an end-2-end perspective
    • Strong written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills
    • People management potential; Very good communication skills and ability to interact

    SHEQ Officer - Fordia

    Main Responsibilities or Function of Position

    • Develop and Implement SHEQ Policies, procedures and guidelines in line with legal requirements, including the OHSACT 85 of 1993, NEMA and all other related Legal compliance legislation.
    • Assist with implementation and/or maintenance of an integrated certified management system (IMS) that fulfils the ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 standards for ZSF Head Office
    • Assist and promote the quality, health, safety and environmental functions in a manner that protects both entities, employees, customer and assets against losses, injuries, and accidents by the development and enforcement of safe work practices / programs.
    • Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards, noncompliance issues and improvement opportunities, ensuring adherence to the OHSACT as well as MHSA, as applicable.
    • Assist with implementation and maintenance of hazard / aspect and risk / impact awareness program / campaign in terms of legislation, Epiroc Way and Integrated Management Systems (IMS).
    • Implement, coordinate and control SHEQ internal and/or external audit processes for ZSF Product company and report the performance of these audits to the Line Management monthly and/or as required.
    • Champion a safety-first culture by promoting employee engagement, involvement, and ownership of SHEQ initiatives and practises, emphasizing the importance of achieving ZSF Product Company (PC) targets of zero accidents, incidents and property damage and encouraging the reporting of near misses and hazardous activities.
    • Assist with the reporting and controlling of accurate record keeping relating to SHEQ statistics and participate on incident investigations as and when required for ZSF PC and other areas of responsibilities, as applicable.
    • Participate in daily / weekly / monthly SHEQ or other meetings and report any SHEQ statistics as required for ZSF PC and other areas under your areas of responsibility.
    • Ensure that Group and Local SHEQ Objectives and Targets for Fordia are rolled out and effectively implement at areas of responsibilities
    • Assist and advise with necessary SHEQ Training Needs for Fordia Product Company to ensure compliance with all statutory and other requirements (i.e., Legal appointments, Driven machinery, Lifting equipment, etc.)
    • Ensure that the Chemical Handling Database, using Chemwatch is up to date for Fordia PC including conducting risk assessments and get approval for all new chemicals required on site as well as custo0mer sites and branches.
    • Primary responsible for Coordination and Control of Hazardous Waste Facility operations and services at the Fordia Product Company, liaising with on -site service providers to minimise the impact of our Operational activities on the Environment, and complying to all relevant legislation applicable.
    • Liase with regulatory bodies, ensuring all permits, licences and certifications are up to date and in compliance with legal and other requirements, including those specified in our national and provincial legislation.
    • In line with the above - will carry out any other function or duty as may be required in terms of "The Epiroc Way "and SHEQ operational Activities (e.g., Activities, products and services).

    Experience and educational requierments

    • Recognised SHEQ Qualifications at a Tertiary NQF Level, i.e National Diploma or equivalent and/or Nebosch International Qualification
    • Minimum of 3 years' experience in SHEQ Management within the mining or heavy industries, preferably within an OEM Environment.
    • Familiarity and Experience in a with a Manufacturing environment would be an added benefit for this position.
    • Strong ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 Implementation and internal auditing experience will be a definite advantage.
    • Meticulous work ethic, attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as problem solving abilities will be positive attributes to have.
    • Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office applications require.
    • Good communication skills and ability to train and motivate people.
    • Ideal candidate should show initiative and persistence in achieving desired KPI's
    • Strong Organisational skills.
    • Strong Communication skills that can communicate through all levels of the organisation and with all stakeholders, to ensure buy-in, participation and foster positive working relationships in our Organisation.
    • Must be willing to travel, as Operational requirements would demand .

    Automation Product Manager

    Primary Duties and Responsible

    • Responsible for the RCS (Rig Control System) Automation product and projects within Southern Africa covering, South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Mozambique.
    • Directly supports the Drilling Solutions Business Line Manager for the customer’s technology needs.
    • Work directly with Automation Product Managers at the factory for:
    • Knowledge and understanding of new and existing products.
    • Orders requiring special needs.
    • Large project reviews and cooperation
    • New capability/product testing and feedback
    • Feedback on metrics of employed automation
    • Responsible for the project management and implementation of autonomous projects.
    • Acts as liaison between customer and product company for problem resolution
    • Works with communications personnel for article creation, expo planning, and speaking engagements.
    • Responsible for mine technology integration efforts; to include project planning and interfacing with the customer; seeing it through to successful implementation.
    • Ensure customer center orders to product company are configured with correct Rig Control System
    • technology options
    • Make regular field and customer visits to ensure the company is informed of the latest market trends and future industry needs.
    • Provide product support and technical training to the field sales team.
    • Prepare and organize suitable training/training material to assist in the development of the sales force.
    • Monitor competitor activities and understand their products.
    • Travel as required to fulfill the duties of the role and this includes travel on weekends or overseas to the factory in USA, to mine sites and customer’s offices.

    Qualifications

    • Understanding and prior work in the mining industry, specifically drilling and or drill related equipment.
    • 3 – 5 years rig technology and automation experience.

    Job Requirements

    • Sound mechanical understanding of drill operations.
    • Experience in drilling, blasting design or field supervision.
    • Understanding of computer software systems, wireless communications, databases and Global Positioning Systems would be advantageous.
    • Previous project management experience
    • Excellent command of English
    • The ability to present is crucial.
    • Negotiation and leadership skills – must possess the ability to take charge of projects, interactions with customers.

    Junior Purchase to Pay Specialist

    Purpose of the role

    • Ensuring quality service delivery to all Customers in the Region supported by the Centre of Excellence while continuously looking for improvements to the processes and tools to realize further efficiencies. 

    Core responsibilities / expectations

    • Process transactions (invoices, credit notes)
    • Match supplier invoices with purchase orders and resolve discrepancies 
    • Post invoices into accounting system on a daily and timely basis while ensuring invoices are coded correctly to the correct GL accounts and cost centers
    • Prepare  payments 
    • Perform month-end activities and reporting
    • Analyze vendor accounts, solve negative balances
    • Reconcile vendor statements
    • Performance according to KPI and company policy
    • Communicate with vendors to resolve account discrepancies and respond to vendor inquiries

    Knowledge and experience

    • Minimum Matric Certificate.
    • Further tertiary qualification in a related Financial field will be an advantage
    • 1-2 years’ experience in working in a P2P team will be an advantage 
    • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
