    Change and Release Manager - ICT Applications, Infrastructures And Operations Department

    Purpose of the Job:

    • The main purpose of the role is to develop and drive the ICT change and release management functions for the FSCA and its stakeholders. 
    • The Change and Release Manager is responsible for development and implementation of ICT change and release management processes and procedures, in line with the ICT strategy and governance framework. The person appointed will report to the ICT Operations Manager.

    Key Performance Areas:

    •  Define, implement, and monitor compliance to change and release management processes and procedures.
    •  Run Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings and advise and guide stakeholders on CAB functions.
    •  Run the Release management meetings and advise and guide stakeholders on release processes.
    •  Ensure that all changes are approved and tested prior to implementation in production environment.
    •  Define the scope of release and obtain sign off from all stakeholders and ensure that release packages are built, tested and deployed as per defined scope.
    •  Ensure coordination of environments deployments (Dev, Test, DR, and Production) and establish and report outstanding known errors and ensure that workarounds   are in place prior to deployment in production.
    •  Ensure proper alignment between incident, problem, change, configuration, and release management functions.
    •  Report on change and release management metrics to the ICT management through the FSCA and ICT governance structures; and
    •  Administer all change and release management related activities and manage all relevant stakeholders.
    •  Development and management of the ICT maintenance calendar.
    •  Making improvements on a regular basis to the change and release management environment in line with latest developments and organisational strategies.

    Other Key Competencies:

    • The candidate must demonstrate the following skills and attributes: good information gathering; judgment and problem analysis skills; ability to  follow instructions and procedures, teamwork; ability to evaluate; provide recommendations and implement third party solutions; ability to prioritise and perform multiple tasks in time- critical situations.

    Requirements

    • A Degree in Information Technology related field or equivalent qualification with at least 5 years’ practical experience as a Change and Release manager. 
    • The candidate must have a strong understanding of ITIL framework and processes; have ITIL v4 Foundation certification and ITIL Release, Control and 
    • Validation certification. Solid understanding of the value of common practices and standards in the areas of systems management, systems development 
    • life cycle, as well as ICT security and controls is a prerequisite. Knowledge in Avanti IT Service management tool, DevOps and agile methodologies 
    • would be an advantage.

    Departmental Assistant - ICT Applications, Infrastructure And Operations Department

    Purpose of the Job:

    • To provide administrative support to the Department and to ensure that office operations within the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division are efficient and successful in supporting business activities. The person appointed to this position will report directly to the Departmental Head: ICT Application, Infrastructures and Operations.

    Key Performance Areas:

    •  Render secretarial and administrative support to the Department;
    •  Take minutes of meetings as and when required;
    •  Maintain files and records with effective filing systems;
    •  Monitor office supplies inventory and place orders;
    •  Follow office workflow procedures to ensure maximum efficiency;
    •  Perform all additional functions ordinarily required of a secretary including, but not limited to preparation of forms and other standard documents for consideration for submissions to committees;
    •  Perform other general office administrative functions required for the effective operation of the ICT Division and assist with the ICT Helpdesk support and customer related queries;
    •  Log calls for external users to the main Service Desk;
    •  Follow up on the calls and update the Users on the status of the calls;
    •  Advice Users on the right processes to follow when requesting ICT services e.g. SLA;
    •  Follow-up on project related matters with project stakeholders and track progress on action items discussed in meetings;
    •  Follow - up on document reviews to ensure timeous finalisation of documents;
    •  Liaise with Problem Manager and Operations Manager regarding systems disruptions notification/communication to VIP’s   e.g. EO’s office; and major impact to business and;
    •  Support other teams with various administrative tasks (redirecting calls, disseminating correspondence, scheduling meetings etc.).

    Other Key Competencies:

    The candidate must demonstrate the following skills and attributes: An excellent command of both spoken and written English; disciplined, organised  and reasonably tidy; reliable, trustworthy, of sound judgment, self-confident and with a friendly, cheerful, co-operative and supportive nature; commitment  to ensuring effective team work and that all work is done timeously, at a high standard and that the organisation’s reputation is protected and enhanced.

    Requirements

    • A National Diploma in Information Technology or related Degree, with at least 2 years’ experience as a Helpdesk Administrator or IT Project Administrator 
    • on a full-time basis. The candidate must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint) and other commonly used 
    • office software products. The candidate must have experience in working with customers and colleagues to develop solutions to complex business problems, 
    • and the ability to handle more than one task at a time is essential. ITIL Certificate will be added as an advantage.
