    SCADA Field Engineer (m/f/d)

    Objectives

    • As a SCADA Field Engineer, you will be responsible for the correct installation and implementation of the SCADA in the field until its final testing.
    • This includes but is not limited to support, system design works but also providing support on site during the construction phase.
    • Nowadays the SCADA system has become one of the main components of a renewable energy power plant, the complexity of the systems and their integration requires a strong knowledge of transmission protocols.
    • As SCADA commissioning engineer you will be faced with the challenge of having to establish effective communication between equipment that, sometimes, has never done it before.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Execute and/or supervise all required test and commissioning activities on SCADA and Instrumentation equipment in compliance with the approved Commissioning Plan, protocols and procedures.
    • Supervise the tests and commissioning activities for full integration of grid connection SCADA system
    • Responsible for all SCADA requirements of a PV, Battery, Wind power plants and Grid substation
    • Troubleshoot the communication networks and all SCADA devices and instruments during the commissioning stage to bring the SCADA system to full operation in phase with the commissioning schedule of the project
    • Execute and/or supervise point to point testing of all SCADA devices to verify full integration in monitoring portal
    • Specify test and commissioning requirements relative to the SCADA system in preparation to the elaboration of the Commissioning Plan
    • Review test and commissioning protocols/ procedures submitted by original equipment manufacturers, product suppliers and system integrators relative to the SCADA system.
    • Support internal and external stakeholders during contracting, engineering and construction phases for SCADA relative matters. Supervise the suppliers & subcontractors in this process, ensuring the correct integration of all sensors and controls in the SCADA system.
    • Participate to design reviews to ensure contractual compliance, constructability and feasibility of the SCADA design package
    • Coordinate on site team to handover the SCADA system safely to the O&M/owner once commissioning complete
    • Interfaces with internal and external stakeholders of project including JUWI Construction, H&S and Quality Team to ensure the commissioning activities are completed safely and under the resource and timeline constraints of the project
    • Understand the local technical conditions e.g., GSM reception, WIFI, Antennas and ensure the SCADA system is online accessible
    • Ensure all SCADA / Network related Tests, Reports and Checklists are performed, in accordance with the Quality Plan/ Commissioning Plan, signed, filled and filed Report commissioning activities to the Commissioning Manager of the project.
    • In addition to the duties mentioned above, the job holder is required to carry out other duties that are in essence part of his area of activity, according to his knowledge and abilities

    Your Profile
    Qualifications And Experience

    • Accredited degree as Engineer or Technician with focus on industrial controls or SCADA engineering
    • 5 years of experience in Commissioning Automation or Scada and Plant control.
    • Demonstrated expertise with industrial instrumentation, automation, PLC’s, machine control, HMI, Meteorological Station, Cloud camera, micro grid controller and communication protocols like IEC-101, IEC-104, IEC 61850, MODBUS, NTP, DNP and OPC.
    • Demonstrated expertise with distributed network systems, VPN and common network interfaces.
    • Previous experience in commission of SCADA systems for PV / BESS / Wind
    • Able to configure and use getaways and protocol converters to connect to any type of device in the facility and with any existing communication protocol.
    • The candidate must demonstrate an innate ability to manage the unexpected and find out what is the origin of the lack of communication between the devices, making use of every available hardware and software tool.
    • Ability to use network sniffing software to search for evidence of packet transmission and their routing, use of “Wireshark” and its configuration.
    • Capability to get connected to every kind device (TCP, RTU, etc) with the right interface is a must.
    • Experience in configuring managed Switch and VLAN is a must
    • Experience in configuring Router and Firewall is a must
    • Reading and interpreting complex electrical diagrams and schematics is a must.
    • Basic knowledge of closed loop active and reactive power, Cosfi, P(f) control algorithms.
    • Knowledge on PV testing equipment and instrumentation.

    IT Support Technician (m/f/d)

    Objectives

    • The IT Support Technician will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and supporting JUWI Renewable Energies’ technology related hardware, software and connectivity needs. This position will have line management reporting to the Business Administration Manager and functional reporting to the Chief Information Officer based at our Headquarters in Germany.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • First line of technical support to all company computer users.
    • Creating support tickets for all IT issues and user requests including finding and implementation of solutions via direct action or immediate escalation.
    • Provide technical support for printers, copiers, scanners and other equipment both in the office and on site.
    • Oversee the efficiency and reliability of the company’s local servers, software and networking devices and support the IT team in Germany with the deployment and installation of the operating system and applications to desktops via Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
    • Maintain company’s LAN and WAN systems including scheduling maintenance, performing troubleshooting activities and completing repairs in conjunction with IT Germany.
    • Monitor, track and maintain software application licenses in conjunction with IT Germany.

    Team Lead O&M Commercial and Business Development

    Objectives

    • Your main objective is commercial management of the existing O&M contracts, in the EMEA Region (focusing mostly to Middle East & Africa), in cooperation with the O&M EMEA Head of Department (HoD), ensuring all contractual requirements are met, the O&M spending is optimized, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction at the same time. In parallel, you are tasked with the development and ownership of the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) sales, for 3rd party (not built by juwi) utility-scale solar PV Plants, in the EMEA Region (focusing mostly to Middle East & Africa), in close cooperation with the EPC sales and O&M operational Teams.

    Primary Responsibilities
    Commercial Management:

    • Commercially manage all existing O&M contracts, keeping track of all contractual obligations and supporting the operational team on queries.
    • Act as the first point of contact towards Clients and Subcontractors for all commercial matters and queries.
    • Support the HoD with formal communications to Client’s and Subcontractors and the need may be, in cooperation with Legal.
    • Overseeing and supporting O&M procurement activities, in cooperation with the O&M team; managing the O&M Procurement Officer.
    • Managing O&M ED / BBBEE related activities (including compliance monitoring and reporting as well as BBBEE certification), in cooperation with the ED Manager and functionally managing the Senior ED Administrator (O&M) and the O&M Intern.

    • Keeping track of market intelligence in the industry with respect to market development, competitive activity, customers, price and services trends, etc.

    Your Profile
    Qualifications And Experience

    • At least 7 years’ experience in a Commercial Management (alternatively Project Management) role
    • Experience within the Renewable Energy sector of South Africa
    • Experience in O&M / after sales support in the Renewable Energy is highly desirable
    • Experience in Business Development is highly desirable
    • A university degree in Engineering, Science, Management or Finance is highly desirable
    • Experience in projects or operations within the Solar PV sector is desirable

    SCADA Technician (m/f/d)

    Objectives

    • As the SCADA Technician (m/f/d), you will be responsible for managing and/or implementing the SCADA, networks and automation related maintenance and operations activities of PV plants in the South Africa.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Installation & commissioning of SCADA, communication networks and automation systems of the plant.
    • Ensure the efficient status of plants and control room network and security equipment by making use of appropriate monitoring tools and/or relying on dedicated specific suppliers.
    • Manage the IP addressing plan for his/her area of responsibility.

    • National Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Automation or Mechatronics.
    • Minimum of 2 - 4 years’ experience in a medium/big-sized company, preferably with an Industrial Control Systems focus.

    Civil Construction Supervisor (m/f/d)

    Your Tasks

    • The Civil Construction Supervisor will be responsible for onsite supervision of Civil construction and Building works on solar PV EPC projects in Italy including full responsibility for technical, environmental and safety compliance, quality, schedule, and integration control.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Reporting to the Construction Manager and the Construction Team Leader, the Construction Supervisor will work with Project Purchasing & Logistics, System Design, Specialist, Consultants, Suppliers, Subcontractors, and the Client to ensure compliant project execution
    • Accomplish construction project/trade results by defining project/trade purpose and scope; calculating resources required; establishing standards and protocols; allocating resources; scheduling and coordinating subcontractors and staff (Quality personnel that reports to him/her); evaluating milestone assumptions and conclusions; evaluating and implementing change orders via the Construction Manager

    Senior Project Development Manager (m/f/d/)

    Objectives

    • The Project Development Unit predominantly develops utility-scale solar, wind and hybrid projects to be bid in the REIPPPP (or other sovereign backed programs in Africa) or used as the basis of possible utility scale embedded or wheeling projects in the future. As a Senior Project Development Manager within JUWI, working with and occasionally overseeing less senior members of the Development Team, you will be required to manage the various project development tasks necessary. Depending on each market and business model, these tasks variously include site selection, land acquisition, plant layout, permitting and the commercial negotiations for the sale of equity and procurement of goods and services. These tasks cover the development phase through financial close to construction phase support.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Project management of multiple wind, solar and hybrid projects in various stages of development, ensuring completion within budget and on schedule:
    • Develop an understanding of the relationship between site selection, technical design and project economics in order to be able to develop the best possible projects (optimised at capex or tariff level)
    • Using GIS and other tools, assisting in the identification of project sites
    • Assisting with landowner negotiations
    • Establishment and management of the project budget
    • Assisting with plant design tasks including turbine, PV array, road and electrical layouts
    • Management of the various project licensing tasks including liaising with the statutory organisations that administer the various approvals and permits necessary
    • Assisting with investor selection processes
    • Assisting in tender submissions
    • Assisting in the oversight of less senior members of the Development Team
    • Developing, negotiating and closing development and project site sales agreements

    Your Profile

    • A degree in Engineering, Business or Natural Science
    • Proven ability to speak and write fluently in English
    • High degree of project development experience within the renewable energy sector (ideally within REIPPPP) or in other industries facing similar challenges, such as infrastructure and construction

    Team Lead Project Supply Chain Africa (m/f/d)

    Objectives
    The role has the following key areas of focus for South African and regional projects in Africa;

    • Lead the project supply chain team in South Africa
    • Responsibilities for Procurement will lie in both the project and strategic purchasing activities.
    • The position supports both sales as well as all operational activities before and during project execution.

    Primary Responsibiliiies
    Project purchasing:

    • Delegate and coordinate the procurement tasks to the relevant team members
    • Knowledge transfer (lessons learned, information exchange with other regions etc.)
    • Ensure cost-quality optimized goods and services are purchased for our projects, on suitable terms for delivery, cost, payments and quality and to meet project milestones
    • Seek, identify and engage appropriate suppliers for project-related goods and services
    • Take part in project related Procurement Committees and governance related to same to align all key stakeholders (Engineering, Finance, SQM, Controlling, Sales etc.).
    • Lead the negotiation of contract terms and pricing with both internal and external contacts, and assist with preparation of related agreements; monitoring compliance of delivery against contracts; enforcement of claims to suppliers in case of deviations e.g., penalties
    • Manage enquiries, quotations and ordering process including tracking order fulfilment for each project
    • Populate and maintain a project cost-reporting system covering all purchased goods and services projects (in conjunction with PM and Construction team).
    • Support PM and Construction team in handling supplier variations, change orders etc.
    • Ensure the business adheres to legislation and good practice in all purchasing activities

Develop the procurement strategy for South Africa respecting the country specific requirements and based on the global Procurement Strategy by coordinating and agreeing the strategy with the Head of Project Supply Chain EMEA, Operations Director: EMEA & APAC and SA MD
    • Develop Key Procurement processes for JUWI Renewable Energies South Africa based on JUWI global and regional (EMEA) processes to align with the continual improvement strategy of Corporate Quality Management, as part of the ISO applicable requirements for JUWI Renewable Energies South Africa.
    • Coordinate the purchasing experts assigned to the Team and delegate tasks related to the respective expert role in alignment with the Head of Competence Centre (Wind/PV/Hybrid).
    • Support and fill in all price information / offers into defined regional (EMEA/APAC) or global JUWI cost database to enable continuous improvement and understanding of cost incl. historical development.
    • For components / services where no regional or global JUWI database is existing, build up cost database for SA and regional projects to allow continuous improvement and understanding of costs.
    • Clarification of market conditions relating to inter alia local content, imports, exports, credit limits, credit protection framework. For JUWI global suppliers, share such information with Project Supply Chain.
    • Compile a list of product specification using the input from other departments
    • Forecast and track capacities for Tier I & II suppliers esp. for South Africa, as well as for Lead Buyer/Expert functions that are assigned to the team.
    • Carry out and support supplier qualification based on the existing processes for the African market, and as related Expert Role responsibilities.
    • Support and carry out the supplier performance evaluation processes. As far as processes for specific supplies / services are not existing, develop and carry out such processes similar to the existing processes.
    • Monitor market for pricing trends, changes, new entrants etc. and share information within Project Supply Chain. Carry out regular Expert Report based on current templates for the Expert functions that are assigned to the team.
    • Creating and maintaining of standard- or frame-contracts for the South African market and for Expert functions that are assigned to the team in coordination with other departments (Engineering, Legal...) and in compliance with procurement guidelines, to ensure JUWI’s competitive edge in various markets.

    Corporate Quality Management (m/f/d)

    Objectives

    • We are looking for an experienced Quality Manager for JUWI South Africa. This person will be responsible for monitoring and continually improving the JUWI Management System based on ISO 9001:2015. This role will report to the Managing Director South Africa (Line reporting) and to Corporate Quality - EMEA (Functional reporting).

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Maintain, implement and control of the JUWI-wide Quality framework, which is based on ISO 9001: 2015 for JUWI South Africa.
    • Identify, analyse and document core and support processes for JUWI South Africa in accordance with JUWI’s Quality Framework, process modelling standards and with process owners.
    • Identification, implementation, and measurement of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for the Company’s processes.
    • Guide process workshops with process owners.
    • Identify and implement opportunities for improvement and manage the company’s continuous improvement process (CIP).
    • Preparation of and participation in internal and external ISO 9001 audits.
    • Participate in EMEA Quality meetings and workshops.
    • Provide QM reporting.
    • Support EMEA process drafting, implementation and process control and lean process thinking.
    • Support further ISO certifications for Environmental ISO 14001 as well as Occupational Health and Safety Management ISO 45001.

    Your Profile
    Qualifications And Experience

    • Degree in Business, Engineering or Similar
    • Formally trained in Quality Management
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Quality Manager
    • Experienced in ISO 9001:2015 implementation and certification
    • Certified ISO internal auditor (ISO 9001:2015) (ISO 19011)
    • Business Process Modelling experience (Certification is an advantage)
    • Experienced in maintaining and optimizing business processes and in the management of audit findings and improvement opportunities
    • Experienced in conducting quality management workshops and training
    • Experienced in preparing internal and external audits

    Desirable Attributes

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work independently
    • Experience in MS Office, SharePoint and Visio
    • Strong organisational and time management skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Ability to communicate well, work independently and within a team of diverse individuals
