    Junior IR Manager

    Key Responsibilities

    Industrial Relations & Disciplinary Management

    • Chair and facilitate disciplinary hearings in accordance with company policies and applicable labour legislation.
    • Draft disciplinary notices, charges, and related documentation.
    • Provide procedural guidance to initiators, chairpersons, and operational management.
    • Ensure disciplinary processes meet procedural and substantive fairness requirements.
    • Assist with grievance investigations and employee relations matters.

     Employee Relations Support

    • Advise Store Managers, Area Coaches, and operational leadership on misconduct, incapacity, absenteeism, and grievance matters.
    • Promote the consistent application of company policies and procedures across all restaurants.
    • Conduct training and coaching for management teams on labour relations and disciplinary processes.
    • Support conflict resolution and employee engagement initiatives.

    CCMA & Labour Law Support

    • Prepare case files, hearing bundles, and supporting documentation for CCMA matters.
    • Assist with witness preparation and coordination for conciliations and arbitrations.
    • Compile statements, timelines, evidence packs, and related case documentation.
    • Support the HR and IR team in managing labour disputes and legal compliance matters.

    Compliance & Administration

    • Maintain accurate and confidential employee relations records.
    • Monitor compliance with company disciplinary codes, policies, and South African labour legislation.
    • Prepare IR reports and management updates when required.
    • Participate in HR projects and employee relations initiatives.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Diploma or Degree in Human Resources Management, Labour Relations, Industrial Psychology, or a related field.
    • NQF Level 7 qualification in Labour Law will be advantageous.
    • Minimum of 2–4 years' relevant Industrial Relations experience.

    Demonstrated experience in:

    • Chairing disciplinary hearings.
    • Drafting disciplinary charges and notices.
    • CCMA case preparation and administration.
    • Advising operational management on labour relations matters.
    • Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel within the Eastern Cape region when required.

    Shift Supervisor

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assist the RGM in the achievement of CHAMPS Standards within the restaurant by ensuring that all employees are focused on exceeding customer expectations for cleanliness, Hospitality, Accuracy, Maintenance, Product and Speed of Service.
    • Manage shifts in accordance with Company Policies and Procedures including directing the activities of employees in maximizing sales, operating efficiency and profitability.
    • Allocate responsibilities to each employee on shift and monitor performance accordingly.
    • Ensure that all employees follow correct maintenance procedures in accordance with the established maintenance roster and advise RGM of any repairs or maintenance required.
    • Ensure that controls and procedures are implemented to protect the safety and security of employees, customers, property, and company funds are maintained by all employees on all shifts under supervision.
    • Report to the ARM/RGM any aspects of employee relations, customer service, health inspection issues that are likely to affect the operation of the restaurant.
    • Assist the ARM/RGM to implement restaurant training programmes for staff to enable them to maximize performance and realize their career potential.
    • Support and demonstrate the How We Win Together at KFC principles, acting as a role model and providing leadership with Heart, Smart and Courage.

    Requirements

    INHERENT REQUIREMENTS FOR THE JOB

    • English Proficiency
    • Numeracy Proficiency
    • Computer Skills – knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook
    • Minimum of 6 months in an All Star Position
    • All Star Certified + Individual Development Plan (IDP) in place
    • Grade 12 NQF Level 4 and preferably a suitably related tertiary qualification
    • A passion for product quality and the customer service experience, pride in the KFC Brand
