    Fitter (Graaff-Reinet)

    Description
    Your role:

    • Keep our production wheels turning—literally. You'll be the hands-on hero responsible for repairing, maintaining, and fine-tuning the mechanical machinery that keeps our plant running smoothly.

    What You’ll Be Doing:

    • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical machinery like a boss
    • Carrying out preventative maintenance (because prevention is better than downtime)
    • Performing routine checks across the plant—yes, walking counts as cardio
    • Taking on repair requests from the Mechanical Engineering Manager (your go-to person)
    • Servicing equipment and machinery in and around the plant
    • Following safety protocols (because you value your fingers, and we do too)
    • Completing weekly check sheets—no clipboard left behind
    • Fabricating and installing components (bring your creativity and welding mask)
    • Advising on which parts need replacing—no one likes surprises mid-job
    • Logging your work on job cards—your mechanical legacy, in pen
    • Keeping your workspace tidy (Marie Kondo would be proud)
    • Plus, any other duties that help the team and plant operate like a well-oiled machine

    Route Planner (Centurion)

    Description

    What’s the role?

    • You’ll be the brains behind our distribution network, ensuring our customers receive their deliveries on time and in full, while keeping our costs as low as possible.
    • You’ll work alongside our team to create flawless route plans, solve real-time delivery challenges, and make sure everything runs smoother than a freshly tarmacked road.

    What you’ll be doing:

    On-Time Deliveries:

    • Use a Transport Management Tool (TMS) like a pro to create cost-effective delivery plans that meet customer SLAs (Service Level Agreements, a.k.a. the golden rules of logistics).
    • Check in with our Warehouse & Logistics Managers daily to review and adjust those routes. Who needs dull meetings when you can have a strategic routing session?
    • Master the art of scheduling, ensuring long-haul routes get loaded first and the shorter ones last—just like a perfectly organised wardrobe (except, it’s trucks, not clothes).
    • Be the hero when trucks break down—re-allocate, reprioritise, and communicate like a well-oiled machine.
    • Communication is key – sharing Delivery Schedules with stakeholders and responding to queries. Overtime? You’ll make sure it’s covered and let the Warehouse & Logistics Manager know when things go a little extra.

    Distribution Planning:

    • Review those brilliant reports on truck utilisation (actual vs planned, tonnage, stops, etc.) and fine-tune the plans to maintain low costs and high efficiency. Efficiency is your middle name.
    • Identify those underutilised routes and vehicles and work your magic to get them firing on all cylinders.
    • Collaborate with the Distribution Manager to recommend fleet requirements and ensure our delivery needs are met without breaking the bank.
    • Non-deliveries? No problem. Investigate, solve, and get things back on track—stat! You’ll also keep an eye on customer returns. No one likes a return slip-up.
    • Always thinking ahead, you’ll find new opportunities to optimise our processes and save on costs. Innovation is your second nature.

    Admin Tasks:

    • Keep customer data up to date in the ERP and TMS systems.
    • Report on your performance and keep everyone informed about your adherence to KPIs.

    Why Montego?

    • We’re Africa’s leading pet nutrition brand, rapidly expanding into international markets. Join a team that values innovation, collaboration, and market leadership in the pet care industry.

    Requirements

    What we’re looking for:

    • A Diploma in Supply Chain Management (NQF Level 6) or a similar qualification
    • A valid driver’s licence (because, why not?)
    • At least 3 years of experience in distribution or route planning, preferably in the FMCG environment
    • Someone with a strong knowledge of geographical areas and routes. You’ll know the fastest route to anywhere—literally
    • Someone with a solid understanding of vehicle capacity, fleet analysis, and maintenance schedules. You might even be able to name the best vehicle brands in your sleep
    • And, of course, a love for logistics and problem-solving (with a bit of humour on the side)

    • Keep tabs on raw materials, incoming samples, and ensure retests aren’t just done—they’re done right.

Administration (Your Paperwork Game is Strong):

    • Verify checklists, train on SOPs, and ensure every dotted ‘i’ and crossed ‘t’ is recorded, filed, and retrievable at 3AM.
    • Handle complaints like a pro – from investigation to feedback, you’re the calm in the chaos.
