    Human Resources Practitioner

    Job Description    

    • RCL FOODS is currently seeking a talented and organized HR Practitioner to join the Millbake team to be based in Benoni. The HR Practitioner will report to the HR Business Partner. The team requires an experienced HR Professional with excellent knowledge of the practices, principles and legislations.
    • The successful HR Practitioner will be responsible for the implementation of key HR processes including recruitment, staff counselling, career path planning, employee assistance, annual salary increases and managing the performance management process.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources
    • Valid Driver’s License & willing to travel
    • Minimum of 3- 5 years HR Generalist Experience
    • SAP experience would be advantageous
    • Intermediate excel experience

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Employee Relations
    • Provide advice to line managers regarding the conduct and misconduct management processes.
    • Provide advice to line managers and investigate/process disciplinary cases.
    • Provide advice to line managers and investigate/process grievances.
    • Review practices to ensure statutory compliance and regularly provide guidance to line managers.
    • Participate in consultations with organized labour.
    • Build strong social partnership with recognised union and its officials
    • Ensure the RCL ER principles are embedded in your own actions and those of Line Management/Supervisors
    • CCMA experience (including arbitration process)

    Resourcing

    • Process permissions to recruit (workflow).
    • Process the offers of employment/negotiation.
    • Formulate appointment letters.
    • Coordinate recruitment activities including:
    • Posting job openings
    • Preparing formal advertisements and announcements
    • Disseminating recruiting material
    • Processing applications and maintaining log and flow charts
    • Interviewing candidates
    • Conducting selection tests
    • Preparing reports and making recommendations to management about staff appointments.
    • Manage new employee on-boarding process, including preparation of personnel file at DOE.
    • Supervise the orientation of new employees.
    • Manage probationary reviews, employee evaluations and terminations.
    • Analyse the skills and qualities required for each particular job and develop job profiles.

    Organisational Development

    • Coordinate planned and unplanned OD initiatives
    • Record all OD activities for WSP.
    • Partner with Learning team to optimise learning opportunities in the business
    • Build a high-performance culture in the business

    Employment Equity

    • Ensure compliance to EE act ito workplace policies and practices
    • Drive RCL EE policy and targets
    • Coordinate and record EE quarterly meetings.
    • Provide advice and assistance to line and staff members regarding possible discrimination on the basis of race, religion, non-relevant physical or mental disability, gender and age.

    Talent Management

    • Manage the performance appraisal process.
    • Drive the succession planning for the site/region.
    • Support T&O process

    Health and Safety Compliance

    • Manage the IOD / Minor injury treatment process and reporting.
    • Provide input for statutory reporting (IOD and WCA).
    • Represent HR and meaningfully input at OHS monthly forum.

    HR Administration

    • Manage terminations and exit interviews.
    • Ensure proper maintenance of employee records relating to contracts, remuneration, allowances, leave, training and performance appraisals and prepare associated management reports.
    • Manage the accurate processing of leave taken in accordance with Leave Policy
    • Maintain accurate T&A recording system
    • Process accurate monthly timesheets to HRSS
    • Manage the capturing of HR information and data into the relevant systems and assure the integrity of the data.
    • Provide advice and information to management and employees on HR policies and procedures, including equal opportunity, anti-discrimination and occupational health and safety programmes.
    • Advise management on work matters, career development, personal problems and industrial matters.
    • Drive necessary organisational changes (e.g. those following from industrial relations legislation, revised job classification structures or technological changes).
    • Counsel employees on policies and rules relating to employment policies and programmes, and on the company’s rules and regulations.
    • Prepare and process employment and personnel reports and surveys.
    • Ensure statutory compliance to BCEA, LRA, SDA and OHS Act

    Management Accountant

    Job Description    

    • RCL FOODS is currently looking for a Management Accountant to join the team based at our Head Office in Westville. The role reports to the Commercial Manager and requires an analytical individual with commercial and costing experienceThe Management Accountant will be responsible to provide management accounting support and insight for the relevant customer / principal / depot.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Qualified CA(SA) or Studying towards / Completed CIMA
    • 3 to 5 years management accounting experience, including commercial costing and some exposure to processing or manufacturing environments
    • FMCG or Logistics experience will be advantageous
    • SAP experience will be advantageous

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Budgeting and Forecasting
    • Prepare budget and forecasting timetables.
    • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecast pack for presentation to Commercial Manager

    New Business Costing

    • Extract base level data for new business costing
    • Execute first cut of costing for submission to Commercial Manager

    Reporting

    • Oversee, analyse and interrogate results in TM1 by customer and depot: managing the focused delivery of an accurate monthly scorecard.
    • Understanding and managing of the data accuracy and reconciliation in TM1
    • Streamlining existing processes and paper trails in order to reduce the risk of human error and improve speed of information delivery.
    • Overseeing the balancing of all reports, sign off on recons and documented investigation of variances

    Publish weekly and monthly “snap-shot” reports as required by the business in an accurate and timely manner by:

    • developing a broad knowledge base of the organisational processes and policies.
    • staying fully informed of operational objectives, performance and critical trends.
    • focusing on the compilation of a monthly commercial reporting pack that highlights focus points for the month, exposes core issues, generates action plans and assigns responsibilities.
    • engaging with Commercial Manager through presentation of the monthly commercial report and follow-up sessions where appropriate in order to provide the business with the tools to make informed strategic decisions, implement change and maximise profitability.
    • Assist in the review and actioning of TM1 variance reports prepared using data extracted from TM1.
    • Analyse and explain KPI fluctuations and variances.
    • Provide monthly commentary for submission to the Commercial Manager.

    ABC Model

    • Understand the ABC Model and cost drivers
    • Understand the SAP cost centres and the upload into TM1 to assist in variance explanations
    • Provide commercial insight into variances of cost drivers month on month.
    • Prepare presentation of major variances to Commercial Manager
    • dentify changes in the business that need to flow through the model and table
    • Maintain data process flows and present changes at commercial team meetings

    Variance Analysis

    • Participate in investigations and audits to support initiatives designed to control costs and maximise profits.
    • Provide commentary on the monthly reporting packs, ABC model month on month variance analysis
    • Analyse proposed changes to cost allocation (as a result of trials or change in specifications) and assist with data collection of new business proposals. Calculate the actual impact of changes that have been made and new cost allocation and present to the Commercial Manager.

    Financial Management

    • Analyse costs against budgets and forecasts.
    • Provide input driving optimisation of efficiencies in the depot environment.
    • Analyse actual KPI’s versus budget and work with the teams to address areas of non-conformance or concern proactively and timeously.
    • Analyse all input costs within the cost centre.
    • Implement cost management initiatives within the team.

    Information and Data Management

    • Ensure team members accurately and regularly capture data into the information system to enable access to reliable data and reporting for trend analysis and decision making.
    • Share relevant data with management teams to enable reliable business decision making.
    • Take responsibility for data accuracy and completeness for the relevant model.

    Team Coordination

    • Take ownership and accountability for tasks and activities and demonstrate effective self-management in terms of planning, prioritising and self-development.
    • Follow through to ensure that quality and productivity standards of work are consistently and accurately maintained.
    • Inform relevant parties in the event of tasks or deadlines not met, the potential risks thereof and provide appropriate resolution.
    • Support and drive the business core values.
    • Manage colleagues and clients’ expectations and communicate appropriately.
    • Demonstrate willingness to help others and “go the extra mile” to meet team targets and objectives.
    • Champion training and development of self and others through utilising available training opportunities or contributing to the development of new training solutions relating to product costing in collaboration with national training specialists.
