    GC - Music Administrator

    Key purpose of this position

    • To support the smooth and efficient operation of a busy and thriving Music Department by delivering high-quality administrative assistance to the Heads of Music and wider music staff across the Girls’ College and Preparatory School. This position is offered as a fixed-term contract.

    The requirements for this position are:

    • A suitable qualification and appropriate educational experience in a similar position
    • Excellent command of English (verbal and written communication) is essential
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook is essential
    • Exceptional planning and organising skills, with strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in all work
    • Strong numeracy skills including the ability to manage and administer financial processes effectively
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to liaise effectively and professionally with staff and external stakeholders
    • The ability to demonstrate a positive and authoritative rapport with senior and junior students
    • SACE registration will be considered an advantage.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    • Managing all aspects of the administration of extra-curricular individual music lessons within the Girls’ Music School
    • Handling of email and face-to-face queries and correspondence from parents, students and music staff
    • Administration of finances
    • Performing full secretarial functions/general office management and the administration of all details pertaining to music events and functions
    • Choir and orchestra management
    • A commitment to on-going personal and professional development
    • An awareness of the nature of the school and willingness to commit to its all-round ethos, co-curricular activities and pastoral approach
    • Any staff member working within a school is required to have a sexual offender’s clearance certificate before employment can commence

    2027 Teacher-Intern Training Programme

    Preference will be given to aspiring teachers who are:

    • Registered with a public tertiary institution and studying part-time towards a 4-year Bachelor of Education (B. Ed) in Foundation  Phase and Senior and FET Phase or a 2-year PGCE, majoring in Mathematics and Physical Sciences.
    • Having passed grade 12 with Bachelor pass and admitted by a public tertiary institution to study part-time in 2027 towards a B. Ed or PGCE qualification majoring in the subjects mentioned above, or
    • Doing Grade 12 in 2026 and aspiring to enrol with a public tertiary institution in 2027 to study towards a B. Ed qualification majoring in the subjects mentioned above. (provide proof that you applied to the institution for 2027 academic year)
    • South African citizens

     In addition, you would qualify for one or more of the following benefits, depending on your financial needs analysis:

    • Payment of tuition fees and a textbook allowance
    • Daily meal allowance.
    • Workshop/ conference allowance
    • A monthly stipend

    Deputy Head - Pastoral Care & Administration

     The requirements for this position include:

    • Experience as a Head of School, Deputy or Senior Manager preferably within an ISASA school is imperative to this portfolio.
    • Minimum of a graduate degree in education with post graduate qualifications being highly advantageous
    • A keenness and the capacity to be strongly committed to the wide-ranging nature of the executive demands of such a position
    • Extensive knowledge of both Early Childhood Development, Foundation Phase and an awareness of the Intermediate Phase of education
    • An understanding of the value of mainstream education with inclusive practices
    • A fundamentally future-orientated approach to teaching and learning
    • Working knowledge of the legal framework governing education
    • Ability to work independently and in accomplished leadership teams within the context of the St Stithians model of education
    • A high level of organisational. financial, managerial, administration, and communication skills
    • An ability to be flexible, innovative and embrace change
    • Advanced computer literacy, knowledge of AI and experience in integrating IT into teaching and learning
    • An unequivocal commitment to working as part of a senior, multi-disciplinary team
    • A commitment to on-going research, personal and professional development
    • An awareness of the nature of our College and willingness to commit to its all-round ethos, co-curricular activities and pastoral approach
    • Ability to embrace diversity and transformation in all aspects of school life
    • Proof of registration with SACE supported by a sexual offender’s clearance certificate
