    Civil Mechanical Inspector Quality (De Aar) - Fixed Term

    Key responsibilities:

    • Responsible for the general day-to-day support and on site inspections of civil and mechanical engineering of the relevant Project.
    • Ensuring technical compliance civil and mechanical engineering and with Project documents.
    • Site civil engineering and mechanical interface with EPC
    • Site civil and mechanical inputs and quality inspections
    • Civil and mechanical Non-conformance and change request reviews
    • Ensures a safe working environment, compliance to safety standards, and adheres to regulatory compliance
    • Review and approve the contractor’s quality documents as per approved Quality Management requirements
    • Read and analyze design drawings during construction and installation
    • Ensures the plant construction work is performed per schedules and project documents, Quality & Safety procedures, and the terms and conditions of the contract.
    • Detect possible civil and mechanical quality problems before or during the works and assist in problem-solving by coordinating with the Quality Manager.
    • Monitor manpower employed by the contractor and its subcontractor; ensure manpower are adequate and the subcontractor work performed conforms to design documents;
    • Review and reconcile Quality Control documents and field data to ensure design standards are being met.
    • Read and analyze engineering drawings during construction
    • Create reports to monitor, and track quality status of activities relating to the project through daily and weekly plans, logs and reports.
    • Raise Request of Information to Engineering team for unclear design, unspecified materials, the discrepancy in the designs, etc.
    • Checking that the construction and assembly work is properly carried out, ensuring that the applicable standards and procedures are complied with
    • Review the contractor’s Documenting design changes emerging on site and reporting them to the Quality manager for the preparation of the as-built drawings
    • Identify and supervise non-conformities, corrective actions, preventive actions and any complaints.
    • Generate the punch list for the defects noticed during civil and mechanical inspections
    • Support and facilitate in project closeout phase to ensure smooth handover to Operation and maintenance teams identify and report to the management of any quality risk that might cause project delays.

    Candidate Profile

     Successful candidate must have the following requirement:

    • Previous experience in Renewable Energy Independent Power Producers Programme, Construction and Operations
    • A Technical Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering is recommended or similar with experience
    • Minimum 3 years of construction experience in the power generation industry.
    • Understand and know how to read design drawing
    • Fluency in English with strong written and oral communication skills
    • Experience with management of construction KPI’s
    • Ability to develop and manage non-conformance, deficiencies, and reporting programs, including root cause analysis
    • Safety Culture behaviors (rigorous, systematic, prudent approach, questioning attitude and good communication) as an example for the organization
    • Willingness to be located on remote sites

    Digital Marketing Specialist

    Activities

    As a Digital Marketing Specialisyou would be responsible for the following: 

    • Lead the development and launch of a differentiated digital customer offer and experience from concept to market
    • Lead for customer-facing digital products in South Africa and support digital efforts in Namibia and Eswatini

    Candidate Profile

    A successful incumbent of this role would possess the following: 

    • Bachelor's degree in digital marketing or Corporate Communication or similar
    •  5 years digital marketing experience
    • Proven work experience in Digital Product Development, Digital Marketing
    • Strong networking skills, both in and outside the business
    • Good experience in digital product management across all stages of the product lifecycle, including Agile delivery models and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform and motivate

    HSSE Systems & Quality Practitioner

    Activities

    • To manage and ensure standardization of Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality systems for TMSA, by ensuring compliance with all the relevant HSSE company norms, policies and procedure so as to minimise the risk and liability to the organization as a result of the installations activities and processes.
    • To implement and maintain HSE management systems

    Candidate Profile

    The HSSE Sytems & Quality Practitioner would carry out the following skills and experience: 

    • Management and Improvement of HSSE System
    • Contribute to the maintenance and continuous improvement of the affiliate’s One Maestro and Integrated ISO (45001, 14001) management system.
    • Continuous update of all One Maestro and ISO related requirements, its applicability to TMSA and its subsidiaries/branches and implementation monitoring.
    • Ensure constant adherence and compliance to the company’s HSSE (Health, Safety, Sustainability and Environmental) standards, any local by-laws and government legislation thereby minimizing all risk pertaining to the company’s assets and ensuring the safety of all people
    • Support the HSSE Systems and Quality Specialist on communicating HSSE Return on Experience (REX) and coordination of the Committee on Return on Experience (COREX).
    • To facilitate all HSSE Communication Programs and Initiatives such as Safety Golden Rules and KPIs.
    • Provide support to all other HSSE Disciplines with regards to the various initiates and projects in each portfolio.
    • Carry out any other lawful and reasonable instruction by the HSSE Systems and Quality Specialist, ELHS manager and GM: HSSE.
    • To escalate identified high risk conditions and follow up on the actions required to remedy the situation.
    • To oversee the Procure to pay process, budgets and provision movements for the division.

    • Follow through on all corporate internal and external HSSE audit findings.
    • Management of non-conformances and corrective actions regarding HSSE audits and assessments conducted.
    • Conduct trend analysis on HSSE system non-compliances and implement corrective actions in line with the IMS requirements and One Maestro.
    • Support the Systems and Quality Specialist on management of the HSSE electronic management systems such as Intelex, One Synergi, Oscar, Progress Card and Ariscu.
    • Develop, review and maintain HSSE policies, procedures, templates and protocols in line with requirements of the ISO 9001 and business.
    • Management of all HSSE related documents in terms of document control.
    • Ensure that HSSE practitioners/managers at operation sites and subsidiaries/branches have access to the latest HSSE management system documents.
    • Owns and coordinate various HSSE reporting programs.

    Advising and training

    • Advice and train within area of responsibility on the development, execution and effectiveness of the HSE Management systems.
    • Training, mentoring and coaching HSSE Practitioners based on sites on the HSSE Systems
    • Develop and present awareness training on HSE issues when required.

    Maintenance Engineer

    Activities

    HEALTH AND SAFETY

    • To effectively manage and minimise the risk associated with depot operations by ensuring:
    • compliance with all HSE Policies, rules, guidelines and legal requirements within area of responsibility;
    • promotion of safe working environment and positively contributing to the company HSE KPI's and risk reduction strategies;
    • that HSE competency requirements are enforced within area of responsibility.

    KEY RESULTS

    Maintenance

    • Establish and continuously evaluate preventive maintenance system (on Sharepoint, CMMS and SAP) and feedback on non-compliances.
    • Complete and issue a detailed monthly report on Maintenance Performance through KPI's
    • Action depot maintenance as per legislative and group requirements (frequency)
    • Investigate breakdowns with identifying root causes and correct actions
    • To monitor and manage One Maestro, Maestro log and Integrity management within your area of responsibility. 
    • Manage maintenance equipment spares

    Integrity Management

    • Prepare and execute Safety Critical barrier inspections, loop tests and maintenance
    • Report and record Safety Critical Barrier non-conformances on CMMS
    • Ensure Safety Critical matrix is updated accordingly and is current
    • Complete monthly Integrity KPI reporting
    • Co-sign work permits for contractors
    • Initiate MoC for any SCB infrastructure changes
    • Participate in the Integrity Monitoring meetings
    • Support site manager with action plan management of nonconformances, safety tours, audit result and depot surveys
    • Support site manager with Downgraded modes or Major integrity threats preparations, reporting and actions

    People Management:

    • To provide training to new and existing staff members ensuring competence of staff or safety critical and environmental protection activities.

    Candidate Profile

    • A professional qualification/certification in Engineering (mechanical or electrical) or Equivalent
    • A minimum of 4 - 5 years working experience in the Operations, in the downstream of Petrochemical or LPG industry
    • Knowledge of the LPG equipment manufacturing industry, e.g.: cylinders, valves, tanks, pumps etc. year advantage.
    • A good knowledge of all relevant legislation that impacts on LPG / petrochemical installations and equipment, e.g. OHS-Act; and all relevant SANS Regulations.

    HSE Practitioner - Chamdor

    Activities

    Depot Operations within area of responsibility

    • To monitor findings from all legislatively required licenses, permits, surveys and reports, auditable, valid and compliant
    • Carry out all site inspections within area of responsibility as per the agreed schedule to report and assist in the closing of deviations. 
    • Immediately attend to site with an emergency when required by the HSE Operations Manager, Specialist or GM: HSE and EL. 
    •  Attend to all preparatory work for Logistics HSE Audits – 
    • ONE MAESTRO, MAESTRO Log, SMT, Construction Compliance Audits, Legal Compliance Audits, SRM+ 
    • To provide comprehensive updates & statistical analysis (Trends) of the KPI Data for the Area of Responsibility including driving of action plan management for:

    • Ensure that all events and non-conformance’s are investigated and reported as required by Group and Local Legislation and advise on corrective and preventive actions and evaluate the effectiveness of the implementation. 
    • To ensure that all Events are investigated, and effective close out of recommendations.
    • To recommend suspension of operational activities when justified, in consultation with Line Manager & Business.
    • To roll out HSE related Initiatives as initiated by the HSE & EL Division, Logistics, Transport, and Integrity & Engineering Technical Teams.
    • To monitor the implementation of the Integrity Management Approach, participate in testing of Safety Critical Barriers and provide feedback on progress.
    • To ensure the constant reduction of Health and Safety liability claims and high level of safety and health performance by effective management of the business management systems and performance Indicators (KPI’s) by:
    • Conducting self-evaluation System Audits in line with the requirements of ONE MAESTRO & MAESTRO LOG.
    •  Follow up on all audit findings

    Advising and training

    • To manage continuous improvement of the TotalGaz HSE Management Systems and facilitate the safety culture within the Organization. 
    • To provide training & guidance to Site Principle Champions 
    • Training of Depot Staff on HSE Initiatives established for the Division

    Technological Risk

    • To ensure the monitoring of Critical Barrier Program.
    • To participate in the Testing of Critical Barriers 
    • To ensure that Procedures are aligned to Risk Management Philosophy of the TRA.
    • To participate in the development of Downgraded Situations.
    • Carry out any other lawful and reasonable instruction by the HSE Manager.

    Security 

    • Oversight and management of the Security Management System at Operations sites 

    Candidate Profile

    • National Diploma in Safety management
    • Successful completion of courses related to HSE Management Systems and Practices, and HSEQ legislation applicable to function requirements
    • Knowledge and understanding of company policies and procedures. Knowledge and understanding of HSE legislation and applicable charters.
    • English is the working language. Valid code 08 drivers license
