    Junior Plant Operator (Umbogintwini)

        
    AECI Mining Chemicals is looking to recruit a Junior Plant Operator to work in Umboginitwini. To operate Plant and Equipment in Designated sections in accordance with standards operating procedures

    Duties & Responsibilities
        

    •  Operate Plant and Equipment in designated sections in accordance with standards operating procedures.
    •  Efficient shift handover and log book records - communicating the details of the past shift from incoming operator and conveying information on problem to operator and Shift leader.
    •  Correct and safe process start up conditions.
    •  Ensure that appropriate documentation for batch start up is available and test equipment as requested.
    •  Accurately communicate process conditions to Team Leaders, Senior Plant Operators, Laboratory personnel, Engineering Department etc.
    •  Respond to abnormal conditions – identify changing process conditions and report to Team Leader.
    •  Liaise with relevant personal to ensure safe and proper shut down as per plant procedures.
    •  Maintain relevant administrative documentation such as shift handover logbook, work permits, etc.
    •  Assist with raw material usage and prevent wastage.
    •  Assist with stock take.
    •  Adhere strictly to all SHEQ and PSM standards and protocols including tests and checks of equipment safety, correct usage of PPE, attend safety and work permit meetings, completely monthly safety inspections, and maintain good housekeeping standards on the plant.

    Qualifications & Experience    

    •  Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent NQF Level.
    •  Minimum of 6 months’ experience in Production environment.

    Business Accountant (Modderfontein)

    AECI Mining Explosives is looking to recruit a Business Accountant to work in Modderfontein. To provide timely and accurate consolidated financial information to shareholders and management of the DetNet Joint Venture in order to enable them to make sound, informed decisions. Ensure that there are adequate internal controls covering all financial risk areas and that any inadequacies are brought to the attention of the executive.

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    •  Review work of accountant, specifically relating to the processing of adhoc and recurring journals.
    •  Prepare all internal management accounts for Exco feedback.
    •  Prepare Financial Statements.
    •  Prepare the monthly reporting packs.
    •  Review payments to creditors and ensure creditors are paid timely.
    •  Prepare tax packs.
    •  Review VAT returns.
    •  Collate and consolidate data for annual budgets.
    •  Manage all tasks relating to Foreign exchange controls and contracts.
    •  Ensure that the accounting systems and internal controls work effectively to provide accurate, timely and meaningful financial information.
    •  Report to cost centre owners concerning the validity and accuracy of items posted to their respective cost-centres.
    •  Be the systems controller of the FI in SAP R3 and as such also be responsible for FI training in SAP R/3 for all SAP users.
    •  Manage and co-ordinate both the internal and external audit processes.
    •  Act as back up for the Financial Controller.
    •  Provide and facilitate ad-hoc support to company strategic initiatives in order to align the business accounting functions to the company strategy.
    •  Identify and investigate accounting issues and implement solutions, procedures and controls.
    •  Review foreign and local travel with respect to claims and outstanding invoices.
    •  Report cost collectors spend to project owners on a monthly basis.
    •  Review and ensure that the Capex process is carried accurately

    Qualifications & Experience    

    •  Matric / Grade 12.
    •  B Com degree or equivalent.
    •  Enrolled for Honours would be advantageous.
    •  Completed SAICA Articles in an audit firm.
    •  Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Accountant.
    •  Sound knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
    •  Advance working knowledge of ERP system /SAP R3.
    •  Highly Computer literate.

    Field Services Superintendent (Northern Cape)

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    •  Monitor the supply of emulsion, ANPP and Sodium Nitrite and ensure that procedures and operating instructions are adhered to.
    •  Maintain accurate records of such stocks and submit cycle counts in SAP/R3 timeously.
    •  Ensure that scheduled maintenance of equipment is carried out as specified in the maintenance manual.
    •  Trouble-shoot and initiate appropriate corrective action when necessary.
    •  Monitor and advise mine personnel on best charging practices and product application.
    •  Ensure the charging units’ logbooks are maintained and updated and that MMU utilisation data is recorded.
    •  Maintain logbook and be accountable for the utility vehicle(s) on site.
    •  Hold the necessary site meetings and have proof of such on file.
    •  Ensure that waste is removed from site and logged on the weekly report.
    •  Communicate regularly with customers.
    •  Perform daily quality checks on the products used and carry out PJOs and on-bench inspections as per World Class standards.
    •  Ensure that the site is brought up to operational excellence and maintained above 90% on all relevant pillars.
    •  Growth of the Operators and Assistants.
    •  Responsible for full Magazine Master duties.
    •  Monitor the supply of emulsion, packaged explosives and initiating systems and ensure that procedures and operating instructions are adhered to.

    Qualifications & Experience    

    •  Matric / Grade 12 or NQF equivalent.
    •  Surface Blasting certificate is essential.
    •  Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Blaster.
    •  Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Supervisor.
    •  Valid Code (08) Drivers Licence.
    •  Responsible person certificate
    •  Previous experience in opencast mining will be advantageous.
    •  Extensive knowledge of the operational excellence will be advantageous.
