    Flight Operations Inspector -Aerial Works Cape Town

    Education Required:

    Minimum:

    • Grade 12 (Matric) and Hold or has held Commercial / Helicopter Pilot License or Remote Pilot License

    Ideal:

    • National Diploma equivalent to NQF level 6
    • Training (On the job training should the present incumbent leave)

    Minimum:

    • Experience with the problems of operating or maintaining transport aircraft, general
    • aviation aircraft, helicopters or UAS
    • Meteorological and climatological knowledge and experience
    • Experience in technical training including visual aids, training devices and aircraft
    • flight simulation training devices

    Experience:

    Minimum  Experience Required:

    • Pilot with 500 hours as a pilot-in-command of civil or military air transport aircraft or helicopter or UAS

    Key Responsibilities:

    Site and Airline Inspections-

    (Time Spent – 70%)

    • Conduct routine inspections such as the inspection of a station facility, apron, en-route operation and base and carry out oversight or checks considered necessary at prescribed intervals
    • Assess the effectiveness of the operator’s SMS and the level of resources allocated to it
    • Conduct such inspections or oversight in accordance with an established work programme and applicable standard procedures and instructions
    • Advise the operator, in writing, of any significant deficiency, requesting a proposal for remedial action
    • Conduct follow-up on inspection reports to ensure that appropriate action has been taken in a timely manner
    • Submit reports on each inspection or investigation in the manner prescribed, and complete and process the applicable inspection forms
    • Investigate and report, as required, possible violations of the basic aviation law or related safety operating regulations and rules
    • Continuously review the operator’s pertinent documentation (e.g. operations, airworthiness, training, company policies, operating instructions and information to staff and system of amendments to determine whether they are accurate and made available in a timely manner to persons requiring their use
    • Keep appropriate inspectorate staff informed on all aspects of the current operation and projected developments in the company including changes in executive personnel, in assigned responsibilities and in the operator’s organization in general, and
    • Conduct qualification, approval and supervisory activities with respect to personnel proposed as designated examiners by an operator

    Maintenance and Acquisition of Specialist Skills-
    (Time Spent – 10%)

    • Keep abreast and remain proficient in specialist skills, human factors and new developments aviation technology

    Proposals and Revision of Standards-
    (Time Spent – 5%)

    • Proactively research, develop and propose the specific standards to be applied in the area of operator operations 

    Communications and Safety Promotion –
    (Time Spent – 5%)

    • Project a satisfactory image to all stakeholders
    • Provide industry feedback to the Authority
    • Promote aviation safety by proposing improvements in operational requirements

    Data Capturer 6 Months FixedTerm Contract – Hillcrest

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Capture payments on the online banking system, and monitor business funds in the bank account
    • Capture information on Pastel Evolution and produce accurate reports on the Financial System
    • Print and file all company bank statements
    • Assist with monthly reconciliations
    • Maintain and manage the Finance filing system and also do the annual archiving
    • Control the Head Office Petty Cash Float
    • Attend various meetings and take minutes of the meeting

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • 2 years’ experience in a financial accounting environment using the financial system.

    Job description

    • Calculate the costs of manufacturing products, including direct materials, direct labor, and manufacturing overhead.
    • Manage inventory accounts, including raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods.
    • Assist in preparing financial budgets and forecasts for the manufacturing process, including projecting production costs and sales.
    • Analyse variances between actual and standard costs and investigate reasons for these differences.
    • Provide sales team with product pricing.
    • Prepare and present financial reports related to manufacturing operations, such as production cost reports, inventory reports, and profitability analyses
    • Ensure adherence to financial regulations and accounting standards relevant to manufacturing, e.g. International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)n for SMEs.
    • Prepare and analyse statement of financial position, statement of profit or loss, statement of cash flows, and notes to the annual financial statements.
    • Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure prompt payment and collection.
    • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
    • Assist in the development of budgets and financial forecasts
    • Monitor budget performance and analyze variances between actual and budgeted figures.
    • Ensure compliance with tax laws, filing deadlines, and regulatory standards
    • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger and sub-ledger accounts.
    • Implement and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
    • Analyse financial data to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and areas for improvement
    • Provide management with recommendations based on financial analysis.

    Qualification and skills

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent.
    • SAIPA or SAICA training experience.
    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. SYSPRO) and Microsoft Excel.
    • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong organisational and time management abilities.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

    Preferred Experience:

    • 2-5 years of experience in financial accounting or a related role.
    • Experience with financial reporting, cost accounting and analysis.
    • Familiarity with auditing processes and tax regulations.
