    Data Analyst

    Output/Core Tasks:

    • Provide infrastructure, tools and frameworks used to deliver end-to-end solutions to business problems.
    • Build scalable infrastructure for supporting the delivery of clear business insights from raw data sources; with a focus on collecting, managing, analysing, visualizing data and developing analytical solution.
    • Design and develop scalable ETL packages from the business source systems and the development of ETL routines to populate databases from sources and to create aggregates.
    • Perform ad-hoc analyses of data stored in African Rainbow Life (ARL) databases and write SQL scripts, stored procedures, functions, and views.
    • Proactively analyses and evaluate the ARL databases in order to identify and recommend improvements and optimization. Deploy sophisticated analytics programs, machine learning and statistical methods.
    • Liaise and collaborate with the team, providing support to the entire department for its data centric needs. Collaborate with subject matter experts to select the relevant sources of information and translates the business requirements into data mining/science outcomes.

     

     

    Minimum Requirements:

    1. Qualifications & Experience

    Industry experience is preferred (2 to 3 years).

    • BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant Microsoft certifications.
    • Knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
    • In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework.
    • Background in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modeling) and data mining.

    Develops organization strategies by identifying human resources issues, contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to organization strategic direction; establishing human capital objectives in line with organizational objectives.

    Implements human capital strategies and policy by establishing department accountabilities, including:

    Implement and manage human capital operations by:

    Develops human capital operations financial strategies by:

    • estimating

    • developing company climate and culture

    Complies with legal requirements for existing and new labour and insurance legislation including:

    • anticipating legislation;
    • enforcing employer and employee adherence to requirements;
    • advising management on needed actions.
    • Enhances department and organizational reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
    • Management of other human capital employees, ensuring tasks are assigned and carried out effectively.

    Minimum Requirements:

    1. Qualifications & Experience

    • Human Resources Degree or Equivalent
    • Minimum 10 Years Human Capital Experience with 4 being in Senior Leadership
    • Sound knowledge of HR Best Practices
    • Working knowledge of HR systems
    • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation
    • Computer literacy – MS Office
    • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
    • Exposure to project management
