    Business Analyst I | Retail IT | Bootcamp

    Overview
    We are seeking dynamic individuals with critical thinking and a data orientated mind-set to join Retail IT. The role encompasses elements of business, systems, and data analysis within the context of a cross-functional software delivery team and in support of the overall business objectives and strategy.

    The environment can be complex with high profile projects underway, and we need Business Analysts with a technical mindset and a love for the innerworkings of the business and its complexities.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Analyse and solve business problems using technology
    • Gather requirements and help formulate solutions in collaboration with business and the product owner using relevant frameworks
    • Identify and prioritise the key items of work in collaboration with the product owner
    • Analyse specific business problems and determine solutions
    • Challenge current processes and thinking, and solve problems using first principles
    • Push back and challenge business in a constructive manner
    • Analyse integration and system requirements
    • Understand impact and dependencies on other IT teams/systems
    • Get buy-in from and communicate with stakeholders
    • Formulate required specs, diagrams and documentation for business and technical integration requirements
    • Work with the developers to ensure the understanding of the business and technical integration requirements
    • Work with testers and business to ensure that test coverage is complete
    • Create test scenarios
    • Be the go-to for information on requirements and implementation on the floor
    • Work with business stakeholders to provide any support for change management needed because of functionality release by the team
    • Guide the thinking and direction for certain business problems
    • Work and liaise with other IT teams to ensure that solutions are robust from an end-to-end integration perspective

    • Support the overall wellbeing of our IT systems and help translate the knowledge gained by our team to knowledge that can be shared across the floor.

    Competencies

    • Aptitude for basic technical skills/concepts
    • Strong logical reasoning
    • Ability to engage confidently with stakeholders at any level

    Education

    • Honours Degree in Information Systems with an aggregate of 70% or higher

    Assistant | Facilities Management | Office Team

    Job Description
    The main purpose of this role is to perform a variety of administrative tasks

    Responsibilities
    As an Assistant, you will be responsible for:

    Service Desk Operation:

    • Receive requests and incidents
    • Check which Facilities team the request or incident needs to be assigned to
    • Reassign and sub-task if more than one team is required to action the request or incident
    • Print out requests or incidents for the Maintenance team and place in their in-tray
    • Check during the day if Facilities groups (teams) are accepting assigned requests and incidents and advise them if they are not doing so timeously
    • Manage internal disputes for requests and incidents not attended to
    • Email weekly reminders to teams to close requests and incidents

    The general administration and stock keeping of all the Allan Gray rented apartments in Cape Town, including, but not limited to:

    • Maintaining a cleaning and laundry schedule
    • Ensuring the apartment storeroom is kept need and tidy and stocked in readiness for all turnovers and emergencies
    • Checking apartments after each clean performed by an external service provider
    • When required, to meet with the Landlord's maintenance team to oversee any maintenance work

    Functions:

    • Co-ordinate the provision of function services within the office to ensure that the client/visitor experience is effortless, comfortable and appropriate; function services include, but is not limited to:
    • Venue provision and preparation
    • Parking
    • Security and cleaning

    General administrative assistance:

    • Maintain all the Facilities department filing
    • Place all orders for all staff flowers and gift requests
    • Process all requests for Facilities staff transport
    • On occasion process requests for transport for other departments
    • Maintain the Facilities staff addresses and contact details
    • Maintain the Facilities department library
    • Process the approvals for access to the recovery site

    Additional duties:

    • The incumbent will be asked to perform additional duties on occasion
