    Engineering Services Manager

    Job Description
    ROLE PURPOSE

    • Ensure infrastructure services are maintained and operational to service standards specified.
    • Maintain availability of assets and building in accordance to specified standards.
    • Support the planned maintenance programme in order to ensure business continuity incurs minimum downtime.
    • Proactively manage the maintenance process and identify potential equipment / asset failure or problems.
    • Proactively identify assets at end of life or in need to of upgrade for the purposes of consideration for capital investment plans.
    • Investigate plant or equipment failure to establish root cause and recommend corrective actions.
    • Provide recommendations and where necessary oversight to re-active maintenance work to ensure that all work is carried out as per the work order and or specification and that quality standards are maintained
    • Approve proposals for new plant and equipment and provide specifications for the supply and installation in accordance with Barclay’s standards and good engineering practice especially where such standards are not available.
    • Provide Specialist Technical knowledge and expertise to Facilities and Project Managers including supervision where necessary of works executed.
    • Ensure that assets are controlled, operated and to the necessary operational specifications.
    • Provide and undertake the appropriate incident management protocols and procedures in order to mitigate and prevent the client’s business redundancy systems are always in full and correct operations.
    • Undertake, provide and maintain the execution of activities that will provide the necessary assurance of asset and building availability.
    • Engage with and maintain a cordial relationship with the various clients representatives.

    MAIN OUTPUTS

    • On time planning and execution of all Planned Maintenance
    • Availability and reliability of regional assets and buildings.
    • Management of breakdowns, planned outages and implementation root cause failure outcomes.
    • Reporting and management of incidents
    • Management and completion of reactive work and requests.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
    The Applicant must meet the following requirements:

    • Grade 12 (matric) 
    • N6 Diploma in Engineering
    • Certified Data Centre Professional (Advantageous)
    • Code B Driver’s License
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Electrical or Mechanical engineering
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Facilities management
    • Strong technical background and have good management and leadership skills

    Physical Asset Manager

    Job Description
    ROLE PURPOSE

    • Responsible for overseeing the lifecycle of an organization's physical assets, ensuring they are efficiently maintained, utilized, and optimized to support business operations.

    MAIN OUTPUTS

    • Create and maintain regional asset register.
    • Develop and maintain maintenance strategies for assets in region.
    • Develop and maintain maintenance plans, scopes of work and condition records for assets in region.
    • Continuously improve monitoring of assets
    • Continuously improve asset life cycle
    • Consolidate planned and unplanned maintenance in region including processing of changes.
    • Feed asset lifecycle considerations into the development of capital investment plans
    • Completion of root cause failure analysis and development of mitigations against asset failures
    • Report on the status of assets and asset care on a regular basis.
    • Responsible duties in maintenance Engineering delegated from time-to-time.
    • Develop and maintain high efficiency maintenance plans for the above assets in order to increase asset life cycle at the most efficient cost.
    • Supervise the coordination and communication of critical maintenance within the region.
    • Provide support in capturing and maintenance of data on the Capacity Management Database and FRL Life Cycle Calculator.
    • Custodian of tactics and maintenance strategies for all engineering assets in the region.
    • Develop and maintain high integrity SAP Master Database for the structure build in the region.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
    The Applicant must meet the following requirements:

    • B-Tech (Engineering) / BSc (Engineering) /. BEng Electrical or Mechanical
    • Candidate PrEng /. Candidate PrTech
    • Candidate GCC Factories will be an advantage
    • Grade 12
    • Code B Driver’s License
    • Minimum 8 years’ experience in Maintenance engineering (specifically managing assets)
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience must be in Facilities management

    Data Centre Technician

    Job Description
    ROLE PURPOSE

    • To implement and manage an effective maintenance system within customer facilities and ensure SLA delivery. To develop, manage, and maintenance standards for the operations, asset care and maintenance of equipment.

    MAIN OUTPUTS

    • Maintain Preventative Maintenance (PM) schedules in accordance to the SLA for all equipment and services.
    • Develop and manage engineering specifications in the region for new assets and the maintenance of existing assets.
    • Complete highly technical maintenance and statutory asset audits and inspections
    • Investigations (RCFA) and submission of failure reports
    • Develop and implement mitigations and recommendations resulting from RCFA completion.
    • Identify maintenance risks on client’s equipment for evaluation and resolution via FRL and risk Notification processes.
    • Projects end-to-end involvement as per request from Project Managers
    • Review and contribute to scopes of work, maintenance strategies, and maintenance tactics.
    • React to major equipment failures as first responder in order to return to service as soon as possible.
    • Manage vendors, suppliers, contractors and OEM’s in order to bring equipment back to services and manage specifications for its operations, maintenance and extension of asset life cycle.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • N6/ National Diploma: Mechanical/Electrical or related formal qualification
    • Matric (Senior Certificate)
    • Valid SA Driver's License
    • Electrical/ HVAC Trade Test is a requirement
    • Certified Data Centre Professional (CDCP) Certificate is a requirement
    • Minimum 3 years of relevant engineering experience in facility maintenance
    • Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience
    • 3 years experience in a Data Centre environment
    • Engineering maintenance, CRM & Property Management
    • MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project & MS Outlook (Intermediate skill level)
    • SAP knowledge
    • OHS Act, ISO 9001 Quality Management & Risk Management System
