    Cost Accountant - Muizenberg

    Purpose:

    • The Cost Accountant will support the Tea Operations by providing information that will aid decision making and drive profitability, operational efficiency and effective cost control. The Cost Accountant will identify and drive system improvement opportunities and ensure strong controls are in place.

    Key Functional Duties:

    • Perform product and customer costings
    • Compile costing information and perform adhoc costings as required
    • Analyse margin and costs and identify where improvements can be made to profitability
    • Calculating production recovery costs and ensuring BOM’s are accurate
    • Coordinate inventory counts and resolve variances
    • Ensure strong inventory controls are in place to safeguard inventory and drive accuracy
    • Complete landed cost calculations for imported raw materials and ensure inventory is valued correctly
    • Review the accuracy of inventory related transactions and assist with queries
    • Review WIP to ensure accuracy, investigate reasons for variances and drive corrective actions
    • Analyse material usage and waste and drive corrective actions
    • Compile and maintain reports to track performance and KPI’s
    • Preparing information and reports for business presentations
    • Assist with compiling annual budgets and rolling forecasts
    • Providing systems support to users and maintaining master data
    • Identify and drive system improvements and assist with special projects
    • Prepare SOP documentation and provide training to staff on systems implemented
    • Assist with Capex calculations and tracking of return on investment

    Required Prior Learning/ Experience

    • Bcom Cost and Management Accounting or Finance related degree (Studying towards CIMA advantageous)
    • At least 1-3 years of experience in a financial or cost accounting role
    • Experience working within a manufacturing environment will be an advantage

    Required Knowledge and Skills

    • Experience working with ERP (Syspro) systems and integrated systems (Barcode scanning) will be an advantage
    • Computer literate: MS Office (Intermediate / Advanced Excel / Pivot Tables, Power BI advantageous)
    • Driver’s License essential

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
    • Good attention to detail and organisational skills
    • Good written, verbal communication and collaborative skills
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

    QC Supervisor - Maitland

    Purpose:

    • To ensure that the procedures in place are adhered to and implemented and update and improve these as necessary.
    • To ensure that quality control activities are carried out at the correct frequency and that they are adequately performed.
    • To ensure that any deviations are resolved and that necessary actions are coordinated and carried out.

    Key Position Objective:

    • Ensure that an adequate food safety and quality system is in place at the Maitland site and ensure that the requirements of the system is adhered to and fully implemented.
    • Meet internal quality and food safety team goals / objectives set

    Key Functional Areas:

    • Quality controllers & one food tech will report into this position
    • Develop and set quality standards for the factory
    • Updating procedures and documents
    • Day-to-day technical problem solving and support
    • Implement and maintain testing schedules including swabbing of the environment
    • Reporting results of tests within the organization
    • Investigating and managing non-conformances and corrective actions
    • Conducting customer complaint investigations
    • Conducting internal audits (GMP audits)
    • Act as Allergen officer (Ensuring an adequate allergen management system is implemented; conducting allergen validations)
    • Ensuring that the CCP procedures are in place and adhered to
    • Conducting validation studies on metal detectors and other defined steps in the process
    • Ensuring measuring and monitoring devices are calibrated and serviced as needed
    • Ensuring traceability studies, mass balances and mock recalls are conducted
    • Member of the HACCP Team
    • Conducting Training
    • Assist QA Manager with external audit corrective action close out (BRC, Customers)
    • Organising and working with the E-mark auditor
    • Providing customer support
    • End of life testing on final product
    • Factory floor problem solving

    Required Knowledge:

    • Relevant Science Based Degree e.g. B.Tech Food Technology/ BSc Food Science / Biotechnology / Microbiology, Copies of qualifications must be submitted with a CV
    • 3 years + relative industry experience
    • Prior supervisory experience
    • Prior training in internal auditing, HACCP, allergen management is an advantage.
    • Proficient in working in Microsoft programs (outlook, excel, word)
    • Own reliable transport
