Minimum Qualification/ Knowledge and/or

Experience

• A Master’s-level degree (i.e. M Tech / Masters / NQF 9 or equivalent) in Education, with undergraduate B. Ed computer science specializing in IT education

OR

• A Master’s-level degree (i.e. M Tech / Masters / NQF 9 or equivalent) in IT, with an educational qualification eg PGCE
• At least two years’ teaching/lecturing/industry experience relevant to the subject field(s)

Desired Qualification, Knowledge and/or Experience

• Evidence of progress towards a Doctorate degree
• Any acknowledged publication, research, innovation or creative output

Main purpose of the job

• Support the creation and maintenance of a safe environment by investigating all misconducts, security breaches, reported incidents, and criminal cases within the University, as well as gathering and analysing intelligence and conducting crime awareness

Main tasks

• Prevention & detection of misconduct and security breaches
• Crime and security awareness
• Investigation of general crimes, security incidents, and GBV& F cases.
• Intelligence gathering and analysis

Minimum Qualification/ Knowledge and/or

Experience

• National Diploma (3-year Diploma) in Policing, Forensic
• Investigations or Security Risk Management
• Five (5) years Security and/or Police experience
• Five (5) years of investigation experience
• Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Course (FCS)
• Detective Course or Resolving of Crimes Course (ROC) or related
• Grade B PSIRA Registration or eligible to register within 3 months

• Experience as an investigator within higher education institution
