    Maintenance Assistant

    Job Summary:

    • The incumbent will provide day to day maintenance functions to the facility including plant, machinery and equipment. He/she will ensure the continuity of operations in accordance with the applicable company standards and other related legal requirements and best practices.
    • Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
    • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
    • Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in hospital/healthcare.
    • Proven knowledge of air conditioning, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, nurse call systems and medical gases and fire system preferred.
    • Basic knowledge of local building legislations (codes) and other related requirements will be advantageous.
    • Basic knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act.

    Minimum Job Requirements:

    • Attend to daily job cards as obtained from both internal and external customers and incoming emergency calls.
    • Attend to planned (preventive) maintenance on plant and equipment: daily, weekly and monthly checks for proper functioning and safety and assist with corrective maintenance, repairs, and replacements.
    • Faultfinding and basic maintenance on electrical system, plumbing infrastructure, refrigeration / air conditioning and general building maintenance.
    • Assist with electrical installation, plumbing installation and air-conditioning installation.
    • Management, monitoring and control of medical gases back-up cylinder system and safe handling of chemical substances.
    • Initiate and closed out job cards for deviations issues identified during daily, weekly and monthly checks.
    • Initiate jobs and close out cards for emergency work as a result of emergency call outs.
    • Ability to attend to after hour’s emergency and be on standby when required.
    • Ability to manage external contractors and provide instructions on work requirement.
    • Ability to identify and escalate possible risks that will require intervention of the technical specialist.
    • Ability to adhere and comply with company policies and procedures and the Occupational Health and Safety Act requirements.
    • Ability to establish and maintain relevant stakeholder relationships (nursing staff, patients and doctors) and meet their expectations.

    Admissions Clerk

    Job Summary:

    • To plan and coordinate the end-to-end management of reception and administrative tasks for the hospital in alignment with Group quality standards.

    Minimum Qualifications and experience:

    • Administrative Qualification / NQF Level 5
    • 1-2 years’ experience in general office administration.
    • Health-related qualification/certificate (advantageous)
    • Knowledge of ICD codes
    • Knowledge of medical / clinical terminology
    • Advanced Computer Literacy
    • SAP will be an advantage

    Minimum Job Requirements:

    • Professionally and diligently attend to all patient and customer queries
    • Attend to calls received at front desk
    • Physically inspect and ensure the admissions / reception area is well maintained each day
    • Provide adequate information to customers and patients with regards to admissions and booking in accordance with Clinix standards
    • Process healthcare forms (and all related documentation)
    • Assist patients to accurately complete appropriate forms and documents, where required
    • Obtain all required information and documentation from patients on admission i.e., Identity document and current/valid Medical Scheme card, as per the company policies and procedures

    • Ensure the admitting and treating doctor are accurately captured on the approved system

    Clinical Pharmacist

    Job Summary:

    • Clinix is seeking a dedicated and motivated Clinical Pharmacist to be responsible for the leading, managing, coordination, and monitoring of clinical pharmacy services and driving pharmaceutical improvement within the hospital. The clinical pharmacist will be responsible for conducting daily ward rounds and review patient medication profiles across the hospital division and contribute to improving patient outcomes.

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

    • Pharm Degree and a post graduate qualification in Clinical Pharmacy
    • Active registration with the South African Pharmacy Council
    • Five (5) years’ experience as a pharmacist (post internship) of which two (2) years must be in Clinical Pharmacy inclusive of Antibiotic Stewardship, Pharmacovigilance, and general Rationale Medicine Use
    • Computer Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications like Excel and PowerPoint
    • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
    • Successful training and understanding of the Blue Bird programme and ability to work on SAP will be additional benefits.

    Minimum Job Requirements: 

    • Ensure the provision of customer focused, professional clinical pharmacy services by conducting daily ward rounds to perform comprehensive medication reviews for patients, monitoring responses to medications and making necessary interventions to ensure optimal therapeutic outcomes
    • Ensure medication safety and timeous resolution of medication-related challenges
    • Elevate antimicrobial stewardship performance as a key focus area
    • Monitor microorganisms and collect and analyse Antimicrobial Stewardship data to identify inappropriate utilization of antimicrobials
    • Drive interventions to optimize drug utilization and pharmaceutical care
    • Active participation in internal stakeholder meetings including presentation of progress and gaps
    • Professional collaboration by enhancing cooperative and influential working relationships with doctors, microbiologists, nursing staff, infection prevention control, pharmacists and other key functional stakeholders to achieve key outputs
    • Provide evidence-based drug information and recommendations on medication therapy management, drug utilization and formulary management
    • Participate actively in interdisciplinary discussions regarding patient care and medication management
    • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting interventions, recommendations and outcomes of medication reviews
    • Role in development and implementation of drug administration protocols to proactively manage risk
    • Medication adverse event reporting and interventions
    • Provide workplace-based support and mentoring to pharmacists to develop skills, capacity and professional competency within the pharmacy
    • Prepare and present reports to the Clinix Clinical Risk Committee
    • Actively engage in continuous education and training to enhance clinical knowledge and skills and encourage pharmacists in operational research

    Unit Manager-Neonatal (NICU)

    Job Summary:

    • To plan, monitor, coordinate and oversee the Unit’s operations and processes to ensure quality patient care and the overall running of the unit including but not limited to managing the ward clerks, RN, EN and ENA’s roles and responsibilities.
    • Take responsibility for the mentoring, coaching, training and development of nursing staff and managing the Unit budget and ensuring cost saving and stakeholder engagement.

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

    • BCur in General Nursing.
    • Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRR) certification
    • BLS
    • Cur Clinical Nursing Science Neonatal Nursing Science
    • Nursing Administration
    • 3+ years’ experience at a managerial/supervisory level.
    • Experienced in Neonatal Nursing / care

    Minimum Job Requirements:

    • Plan and organise multiple work outputs by assigning tasks and priorities and continuously reviewing objectives and goals in line with the Unit standards.
    • Manage the provision of round the clock care to premature and severely ill new-born infants.
    • Oversee the Performing of essential medical procedures such as inserting intravenous lines, performing tests and administering medications.
    • Manage ward clerks, RNs, ENs as well as ENAs within area of accountability and drive service optimisation.
    • Report, analyse and manage customer relations in the Unit including feedback on patient experience and satisfaction and implement improvement opportunities
    • Advocate for and encourage the provision of emotional support to parents and family members of infants in the Neonatal ward
    • Conduct on the job training, coaching and mentoring to direct reports to ensure development of team and improvement of overall service delivery.
    • Oversee the detailed recording of medical consumables to ensure accurate billing
    • Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings, review, discuss and co-ordinate best approach to overall patient care.
