    Marketing Coordinator

    Role Summary:

    • We are looking for a smart, accurate, and flexible Marketing Coordinator with excellent communication skills to join our team at dmg events. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and will be able to ensure accuracy in all marketing materials and campaigns.

    Role Purpose:

    • Support the marketing team in meeting their objectives.  To help ensure a high number of, quality, inbound exhibitor and sponsor leads are generated, through exhibitor and sponsor marketing campaigns.  To meet targets set in terms of visitor and delegate attendance at the relevant events which the marketing coordinator is assigned to work on.  To ensure that the marketing strategy and plans are successfully executed, to help grow brand presence.

    Key Accountabilities

    Exhibitor/Sponsor and partner Marketing

    • Develop effective sales collaterals and presentations in consultation with Show Management and marketing managers.
    • Gain market intelligence through developing a working relationship with major clients, media, associations, and marketing suppliers.
    • Draft copy for mailers, social media, and other marketing channels, to promote the event to potential exhibitors and sponsors.
    • Manage and update the event websites, with guidance from the Show Management and marketing managers.
    • Develop and manage media plans. This includes appointing of suppliers, management of media partner deliverables, etc.
    • Help to ensure that all partner and association deliverables are executed, as per the agreements with these organisations.

    Visitor and delegate marketing

    • Develop effective visitor marketing campaign to attract the right quantity and quality of visitors and delegates to the event.
    • ‘Out of the box thinking’ to establish cost effective visitor campaigns.
    • Drafting of copy for marketing channels, which results in high engagement across channels, an increase in followers and subscribers, etc.
    • To manage inbound visitor and delegate enquiries relating to the event
    • To support the marketing managers in meeting all other visitor and delegate promotional campaigns.
    • Data – to assist in developing data build/data clean briefs. On a periodic basis, to review data and ensure that all data plans and strategies are executed according to specific deadlines and clearly articulated deliverables.
    • To attend internal meetings with the team, as and when required
    • To be available to attend key meetings with associations, media partners, marketing suppliers and exhibitors, where necessary
    • Research and understand the relevant event industry sectors.
    • To work with external designers, to develop marketing collateral, in line with approved CI for the events.
    • To support the marketing managers in collecting information and in the planning the layout of the show guide.
    • To help with setting up and running email marketing campaigns
    • To assist in setting up and executing all above and below the line visitor and delegate marketing campaigns
    • To assist with general admin

    Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

    • Diploma or degree in marketing from a reputable educational institution
    • 1+ years in marketing, preferably in the exhibition and conferencing industry
    • Excellent written & spoken English
    • High ethical standards being the representative of the company providing support to all exhibitors, sales, marketing managers, and the rest of the DMG show team, as required. Ethical traits include integrity, objectivity, honesty and due care.
    • Organised and efficient, excellent attention to detail
    • Acts confidently and assuredly; communicates competently with different groups of people, is proactive in completing job tasks set for the marketing team.
    • Shows high commitment and high willingness to perform; takes over additional tasks and responsibility on own initiative; team player.
    • Is resilient in difficult situations; can cope with setbacks; reacts in a flexible way to unexpected events; can handle pressure and work to tight deadlines.
    • Can work in a hybrid set up, with a blend of office bound and remote work.

    Computer Skills

    • Intermediate Microsoft Office Applications including word, excel, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint
    • Knowledge of the following systems a plus
    • Salesforce (Matrix)
    • Slack
    • Asana
    • Everlytic

    Required Competencies

    • Self-starter, self-motivated.  
    • Team player. Is willing to assist in areas and do things, sometimes outside of the scope of the job description, to ensure that the events are delivered successfully.

    Sales Manager - Fixed Term (5 Months)

    Job Description Summary:

    • The Sales Manager will be responsible for the retention and growth of assigned accounts as well as the generation of revenue from new business. This role will have to close small to medium to high-value deals across the built environment value-chain, from small to medium enterprise clients to large, blue-chip companies at senior management or director level.

    Main Duties & Responsibilities: 

    The Sales Executive will be responsible for, but not limited to:

    • Consultatively sell effective event, exhibition, and conference delegate solutions to new and existing clients.
    • Soliciting new clients to exhibit and sponsor in assigned trade show(s).
    • Making cold calls and having at least 30 conversations with clients daily.
    • Researched potential new clients and prospects using various resources for business development.
    • Actively participate in regular weekly sales meetings
    • Reported weekly reporting of all sales activity, pipeline, and forecasts with accurate reporting to the Senior Sales Manager
    • Promoting and actively cross-selling into events within the built environment portfolio.
    • Creating strong relationships by having face-to-face meetings with existing clients to identify future opportunities.
    • Work to achieve the industry-appropriate mix of clients whose products, services, and technology are being displayed at each event.
    • Allocating exhibition space and prioritizing the placement of clients – including renewals - based on their specific needs and featured products and services, as well as featured venues.
    • Preparing and entering all contracts and/or supporting paperwork into Salesforce for timely processing.
    • Utilize Salesforce CRM to track, build, and monitor your sales plan and targets.
    • Participating in outside events that will promote the company as a critical member of the industry and community, such as networking events, breakfast clubs, and industry events.
    • Assisting in the coordination of move-in/move-out, the development of show features, and providing on-site floor management.
    • Ensuring the overall level of sales & customer service meets dmg events standards.

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience on a B2B sales team, venue, or organizational sponsorship sales, with a preferred background in engaging advertising/sponsorship agencies or through direct client contact.
    • Experience managing multiple customers and maintaining high-energy sales.
    • Relationship management experience including maintaining customer connection and communication.
    • Ability to identify and pursue cross and up-selling opportunities.
    • Ability to ask probing questions to proactively handle and respond to customer objections.
    • Good level of spoken and written English
