    Technician DBS Technical Support (Northern Cape - Various Locations)

    Description

    • Support business technical functions on electronic initiating systems application and deployment
    • Train and assist blasting personnel with product application, performance, and optimization.
    • Verbal and written feedback to customer, with respect to product performance.
    • Perform product observations, problem solving and blast design.
    • Implementation and monitoring of Quality Assurance and Quality Control measures pertaining to supply and service of explosives.
    • Value-add to Business Unit and customer operations and projects.
    • Travel and work on mine sites independently both locally and internationally.
    • Be on standby for a minimum of two weeks per month.
    • Overtime work as and when require

    Requirements
    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

    • Grade 12 with Math’s & Science (Must)
    • Valid driver’s license (Must)
    • 3-5 years ‘experience in the application and training of digital blasting systems or electronic initiation systems (Must)
    • 3-5 years’ experience in the drill and blast environment in surface and/or underground mines (very advantageous)
    • Certified Explosive Engineers Certificate (very advantageous)
    • Experience in fault finding and repairing electronic circuits (very advantageous)
    • Blasting Certificate (Surface/Underground) (advantageous)
    • Tertiary Qualification (advantageous)
    • Tertiary Qualification in Mining / Electronic / Electrical Engineering (advantageous)

    Instrumentation Technician (Mpumalanga)

    Description

    • Responsible for the calibration, repair and maintenance of control gear/instrumentation in the manufacturing process.
    • Devises, selects, sets up and operates electronic instrumentation and related electromechanical or electro hydraulic apparatus used for operational and environmental testing of mechanical, structural or electrical equipment and translated test data for engineering staff. 
    • Selects installs, calibrates and checks sensing, telemetering and recording instrumentation and circuity and develops specifications for non-standard apparatus according to engineering data, characteristics of equipment under test and capabilities of procurable test apparatus.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12
    • Technical Qualification with 3 to 4 years related experience.

    Ops Chargehand (Limpopo - Bokoni)

    Description
    Duties include; but are not limited to:

    • Assist mine personnel on on-the-job training (Technical support on DDS™ equipment & Charging-up).
    • Provide information regarding Health & Safety of Enaex equipment to mine and Enaex employees.
    • Assist mine personnel on on-the-job training (Technical support on DDS™ equipment & Charging-up).
    • Assist Service Technician in maintenance of DDS™ Equipment.
    • Density checks and records.
    • Day to day inspections and minor repairs on DDS™ equipment.
    • Oversee mine trained employee to do daily checklist. Mine employee to hand checklist to his mine supervisor.
    • First responder to breakdowns (All minor issues on shift).
    • Reporting on levels of DDS™ emulsions and delivery dates for emulsion.
    • Offloading of the DDS ™ delivery tanker & weighbridge notes sign.
    • Reporting on spares used and stock level to Service Technician.
    • Report of spillages to mine personnel to arrange for clean-up.
    • Report status of good housekeeping around silos to mine.
    • Daily reporting of findings in underground workings to Section Mine Overseer / Shift boss / Miner with regards to  - charging-up and drilling on the working areas he visited.
    • Communication with service Technician on status of DDS™ equipment.
    • Breakdown reports and feedback to M/O , HFO , Service Technician.
    • Follow up on recommendations and implementation of proposals.
    • Identify incorrect charging up practices.
    • Conduct blast surveys according to the designed criteria.
    • Demonstrate the charging up and connecting of all Enaex explosives products.
    • Apply the use of the product as per the product application training.
    • Apply the safe handling, storage and transport of explosives.
    • Ensure correct PPE is used, as well as that PPE is in good condition and correctly worn/used.
    • Maintain housekeeping of work area.
    • Identify workplace hazards and associated risks and deal with it appropriately (Hirac & Risk Assessment).
    • Knowledge of relevant hand tools.
    • Knowledge of emergency procedures.
    • Comply with the Mine’s safety and health procedures.
    • Attend the mine’s induction training.
    • Maintain basic safety, health and environmental issues.
    • Assess the product application practices.
    • Identify incorrect product application practices.
    • Demonstrate and coach the correct practices.
    • Adhere to Enaex code of practice and procedures.
    • Adhere to mine Health & Safety requirements.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12/ equivalent.
    • Underground Blasting Assistant Certificate and Competent B for underground (Advantage).
    • Basic Computer skills.
    • Valid medical fitness certificate for UG Mines.

    Experience:

    • 2-3 years working experience in underground.

    Site Manager (SC) (North West - Rustenburg)

    Description
    Strategic management

    • Contribute to the organizational strategy by understanding the key strategic drivers and direction and providing input into the strategy annually.
    • Develop the departmental strategy by understanding the business strategy and developing the strategy, presenting and securing approval annually.

    Departmental / operational planning and management

    • Develop the departmental operations plan by understanding the strategy, developing the plan including all projects and key performance measures and submitting plans for approval annually and as required.
    • Report on performance by tracking department performance against targets, identifying progress and areas of concern, drafting reports and submitting quarterly and as required.
    • Manage operational performance by tracking performance against targets, identifying anomalies and implementing corrective action monthly and as required.
    • Manage the overall compliance of Enaex South Africa with local and corporate requirements and to promote ethical behaviour and integrity by maintaining knowledge of requirements, implementing solutions and actions to align, monitoring and managing compliance and addressing areas of non-compliance monthly and as required.

    Policy and procedure (including process and systems) management

    • Manage the development and implementation of departmental business processes by overseeing process mapping, assessing efficiencies and appropriateness of processes, monitoring compliance, identifying anomalies and implementing corrective action as required.
    • Develop departmental policies and procedures by understanding good practices, regulatory and compliance requirements and methods, developing policies and submitting for approval as required.
    • Manage compliance with departmental policies and procedures by monitoring adherence to requirements, identifying areas of concern and implementing corrective action as required.

    Technical management

    • Manage mine sites by developing and defining operational schedules in line with client priorities and site needs and managing the ordering, transportation, storage and distribution of materials as required.
    • Manage the planning and ordering of products for the site by understanding historical, market and seasonal trends, managing an accurate inventory and inventory control system to track stock levels, minimum order levels and lead times, managing suppliers and supplier relationships and identifying potential risks and contingency plans, monthly and as required.
    • Manage Fleet efficiencies by implementing and overseeing fleet management systems to track movement, usage and performance of fleet and equipment, managing fleet maintenance schedules and costs and overseeing vehicle compliance as required.
    • Manage SOX and governance standards by implementing clear policies, standards and team training, establishing internal controls and stock reconciliations, conducting audits and submitting SOX and Compliance Inspection reports according to minimum standards and required timeframes.
    • Manage the warehousing and storage on site by handling and storing explosives and other hazardous materials safely and in compliance with regulations, understanding local, provincial and national laws and regulations governing the handling, storage and transportation of explosives and implementing a First-in-First-out (FIFO) system to prevent expiration and deterioration of products on an ongoing basis.

    Budget and financial management

    • Develop budgets by understanding operational requirements, drafting budget and submitting for approval annually and as required.
    • Manage expenditure by tracking spend against budget, reviewing and approving costs, identifying areas of under- or over-spend and implementing corrective action monthly and as required.

    Risk management

    • Manage security and disaster recovery of departmental information by reviewing measures in place, identifying risks and implementing mitigating measures as required.
    • Manage departmental risk by developing the departmental risk management framework, overseeing the population and maintenance of the framework, reviewing risk management strategies, identifying areas for improvement and driving implementation quarterly and as required.

    SHE management

    • Manage that SHE is implemented by managing that SHE training is provided, implementation is completed and noncompliance is addressed as required.
    • Manage that SHE is monitored by defining monitoring requirements and standards, managing completion of monitoring and managing that issues are resolved within deadlines.
    • Manage that SHE requirements are complied with by managing review of SHE practices, identifying noncompliance and addressing within deadlines.

    Stakeholder management (including internal, external, client and service provider)

    • Manage stakeholder relationships by liaising with key internal and external stakeholders, providing input and feedback actions, receiving feedback and contributions and collaborating as required.
    • Engage with industry stakeholders by identifying key points of impact and discussion, representing the organization and providing input into industry related initiatives and imperatives, supporting industry related initiatives and addressing any industry related concerns or challenges as required.

    Requirements

    • Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent.
    • Diploma: Engineering/Commerce.

    • CIE Responsible Persons.
    • 5 or more year’s supply chain explosives experience.
    • Proven experience in explosives value chain and Supply Chain Outbound.
    • 5 or more years' experience in the explosive's environment.
    • 3-5 years’ experience in people management.
