    Manager, SCM

    PURPOSE:

    • To manage and support the service being delivered by supply chain management in order to meet the required service levels and deliver business unit end-user/customer satisfaction.
    • To influence supplier relationship management, supply chain management operating model support and process adherence.
    • To effectively manage incidents, problems and change process within the scope of the supply chain management support and operating model.

    MAJOR CHALLENGES:

    • Managing internal and external relationships.
    • Managing adherence to stipulated governance and policy.
    • Service delivery for diverse needs from many stakeholders in the portfolio.

    Minimum Requirements    
    QUALIFICATIONS:

    •    BCom (Hons) (Relevant) (Essential/Minimum)
    •    Management Development Programme (Essential/Minimum)

    EXPERIENCE: 

    • 6-8 years relevant practical experience of leading teams in the delivery of service level agreement incident and problem management in a supply chain management environment.
    • Ability to manage internal supply chain management and end-user relationships and represent supply chain management to key business unit stakeholders.
    • An understanding for SAP Material Management. Understanding of Enterprise Resources Planning and/or Cloud based procurement solutions (e.g. Coupa).        (Essential/Minimum)

    Duties & Responsibilities    
    POSITION OUTPUTS:

    The incumbent will inter alia be responsible for the following:
    Alignment to Supply Chain Management Operating Model

    • Execute procurement strategy and plan for region including Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) strategy
    • Allocate and monitor effective utilisation of resources and assets according to group Supply Chain Management (SCM) led objectives and budgets control to facilitate efficient delivery of the SCM operating model
    • Measure and track performance against approved business plans and budgets
    • Ensure business units SCM objectives and plans support the successful implementation of group SCM operating model and targets

    Business Partner Enablement    

    • Identifying, developing and designing tools, aids, methodologies and processes to make it easier for business partners/end-users to execute some of the sourcing activities on a self-service basis
    • Identifying, evaluating and supporting business partners/end-users to develop disciplined sourcing execution capabilities
    • Shifting from applying expert process knowledge when executing tasks to providing expert process advice to business partners/end-users through in transaction guidance, coaching and mentoring

    Compliance, Governance and Assurance

    • Manage and provide guidance to direct reports and customers to ensure that SCM operating model work and all policies, procedures, standards and guidelines are adhered to in execution of SCM activities
    • Ensure supplier stakeholders comply with relevant regulatory requirements
    • Identify, manage and mitigate risk associated with supply chain's Initiatives
    • Align and implement the Company’s Safety Health and Environmental (SHE) targets applicable to procurement area
    • Manage and ensure adherence of SCM Service Level Agreements (SLA's)

    Customer, Stakeholder and Client Relationship Management  

    • Manage suppliers; ensures that they are working safely at all times and managing contracts incorporating appropriate performance ethics to ensuring best value from the supply chain
    • Ensure regular monitoring of BU supplier performance against the applicable contractual obligations and SCM objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
    • In consultation with stakeholders define supplier selection criteria and seek approval for supplier selection decisions
    • Review supplier scorecard and identify areas for action
    • Manage internal and external relations including interface with external providers or other functions responsible to ensure that business needs are met
    • Implement and maintain audit structure in alignment with overall SCM governance

    Functional Excellence  

    • Enable and champion SCM operating model, service delivery and positive end-user relationships
    • Oversee the development of BU, corporate SCM to end-user management processes and controls to ensure that the delivery of SCM services are maintained and meet business unit objectives
    • Champion and promote service improvements on an ongoing basis to continually improve SCM service delivery and customer satisfaction
    • Maintain day to day responsibility for the ownership and resolution (including any referral or escalation as may be necessary) of SCM performance issues which arise in connection with SCM services.
    • Keep the business up to date to ensure contingency plans can be put in place where necessary
    • Review KPIs that identify the success of the services being utilised
    • To recommend and coordinate the implementation of changes to SCM service levels to improve metrics
    • Identify positive/negative trends in performance and continuous improvement opportunities to reduce cost, improve quality of SCM service and performance and take proactive corrective action where necessary in collaboration with internal SCM colleagues and stakeholders

    Functional Management

    • Financial management: Manage and reduce costs of the sub-function
    • Performance management: Ensure sub-functional strategic plan is implemented through disciplined execution processes, track implementation and provide feedback to managers. Coordinate functional/cross-functional activities to ensure functional alignment. Maintain high performance standards. Track and drive functional targets/goals and hold staff responsible for achieving results
    • Continuous improvement and functional change: Identify, advocate for and lead functional improvement and change. Create a culture of continuous improvement and change agility in function

    • Performance management: Clarify roles/responsibilities and expectations. Define individual performance standards, monitor and measure performance and reward and recognise high performance. Apply consistent performance and consequence management and take prompt action against non-performance

Provide ongoing mentoring, coaching and development feedback to employees. Manage the functional talent pipeline and succession planning process. Promote a culture of continuous learning.     Procurement Control

    • Manage procurement practices within agreed standards and guidelines: Reconditioning, direct purchasing of goods and services, low value capital procurement, importation of goods/services
    • Conduct market research and make recommendations relating to suppliers, costs and deliverability

    • Maintain and ensure a healthy environment and safe operation practices
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable SHE policies and procedures in line with set standards
    • Encourage a culture that focuses on safety in all operations.

    Systems Infrastructure and Enablement  

    • Manage, participate and provide support in the audit process and continuous improvement of business unit SCM
    • Manage, participate and provide guidance in the implementation of process and system enhancements

    Occupational Medical Practitioner

    Job Advert Summary    
    PURPOSE:

    Duties & Responsibilities    
    The incumbent will inter alia be responsible for the following:
    Best Practice and Knowledge Management  

    • Implement Occupational Health Management system for the Business Unit (BU) to comply with legislative requirements
    • Implement Primary Health Management system across the Business unit, focus mainly on the diagnosis, treatment and management of chronic and acute illness linked to the risk framework
    • Conduct and monitor internal and external audits of Health and Hygiene sections to evaluate compliance with legislative requirements
    • Maintain and implement Occupational Health and Hygiene procedures, manuals and Codes of Practice
    • Providing advisory service to BU relating to occupational health
    • Health and Hygiene checks and propose improvements where applicable

    Business Performance and Operations    

    • Maintain Medical Surveillance System (MSS), in collaboration with human resource and Hygiene, to ensure transparency and compliance to Department of Mineral Resources (DMR), Department of Health (DoH) and Department of Labour (DoL) requirements
    • Implement and monitor strategic health programmes/initiatives and schedule employees for risk-based medical exams
    • Report for stand-by duty and perform all required emergency medical services and administer medication where appropriate
    • Ensure availability of medical emergency response

    Compliance, Governance and Assurance  

    • Implement effective Safety Health and Environmental (SHE) management systems for BU health function
    • Update and report on Health risk assessment on a BU level
    • Adhere to requirements of quality management systems put in place to monitor execution of processes and performance of Business Unit
    • Manage and conduct reporting requirements both for external and internal stakeholders

    Functional Management

    • Financial management: Prepare/manage function’s budget (BUs). Prepare a risk based budget and control BU's annual medical budget by forecasting operational costs and monitoring expenditure and cash flow to realise potential cost reduction. Manage medical claims process between the Company and the medical aid funds to recover non- Occupational Health costs. Measure and track financial performance and expenditure against approved business plans. Facilitate approval of relevant contracts and documentation in line with governance and budget stipulations
    • Strategic alignment/planning: Communicate Company strategy to function. Set functional direction, develop functional strategic plan aligned to, and driving, vision/purpose, strategy, goals, priorities, including aligning functional work/resources
    • Establish measurable functional targets from Group targets
    • Define and reinforce the link between Group, functional, operational goals and individual outputs, measures, rewards
    • Performance management: Ensure functional strategic plan implemented through disciplined execution processes, track implementation, provide feedback to executive. Coordinate functional/cross-functional activities to ensure strategic alignment. Set and maintain high performance standards.
