MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Agric/ BSc Agri / BCom degree
• Preferably grown up on a farm or have worked on a farm.
• Minimum 2+ years’ experience in an agriculture finance sales position with a recognized agriculture finance provider
• Strong network of commercial farmer relationships and agriculture suppliers
• Ability to understand farming operations and analyse farming cashflows for reasonability and historical financial statements.
• Familiar with National Credit Act

• Key role in supporting the Senior Manager in all daily farm activities
• Accurate data entry into Afikim and 4th Quadrant
• Daily dairy operations
• Daily duties every second weekend
• Helping with seasonal tasks such as calving, planting, and more
• Managing staff and allocating their daily work
• General farm work, plus machinery and irrigation maintenance

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO

• The organizing, planning and running of the day-to-day work for the staff according to the monthly requirements of the nursery.
• Setting up and following up on the staff with their daily duties.
• The daily checks and observations that need to be made to influence the planning of the monthly requirements of the nursery.
• Recording, updating and analysing various records and data that is collected to guide and inform on the numbers and state of the plant progress within the growth cycle of the Avo trees.
• Problem solving according to the short term and long-term needs of the Avo plants and the nursery. This includes solving staffing issues, and biological issues such as plant health and temperature control.
• Contacting and communicating with customers in regard to orders and enquiries. This includes finding new customers; following up with existing customers; and finalising the collection and sale of plants to customers (Very NB for while nursery manager is away).

• Conduct farm visits and provide technical support to improve yield and quality.
• Collect and analyse grower data, and report on performance and supply forecasts.
• Support contract management and ensure adherence to agreed terms.
• Communicate market requirements and align growers with export standards.
• Engage with local communities and promote sustainable farming practices.
