    Executive Assistant

    Overview of the role and requirements:

    • The purpose of this EA role is to support the FirstRand Group CDO in the management of the Digital Platform functions across the group. This will include supporting the Group CDO to articulate and co-ordinate delivery of our platform strategy, project management of various strategic activities, and support of the delivery of the Group CDO’s key objectives. The individual should be able to effectively liaise with CIO’s, CEOs and other C Suite roles across the group, liaising within the finance community and partnering closely with the various technology human capital functions to support the CDO in the talent management of our technology resources across the group. Support on strategy articulation via presentations and production of documents for the board, board committees, external stakeholders and franchise exco’s will also be required. This role is suited for candidates who have had meaningful experience in driving strategic change management activities,as well as experience within a technology domain.

    You will be responsible for:

    • Initiate dialogue to build professional working relationships with all stakeholders, displaying excellent abilities to listen, advise, influence, negotiate and present at all levels
    • Lead and facilitate difficult conflict situations into consensual agreements
    • Integrate opinions and information provided by various sources to make strategic decisions
    • Adapt communication styles to meet the needs of different audiences
    • Continually scan the industry to identify opportunities to create strategic partnerships with key individuals and bodies
    • Find opportunities to leverage relationships and promote knowledge sharing, ideas and insights
    • Identification, planning, co-ordination and/or execution of strategic projects / initiatives
    • Prepare for and facilitate workshops to develop strategies
    • Develop and roll-out strategy and business plans
    • Action items and key issues requiring resolution by assisting the business to address strategic problems and answer strategic questions; monitor to ensure actions are completed by the right people at the right time
    • Monitor and adjust strategic frameworks as required
    • Take responsibility for the end-to-end management of projects, setting out the scope of work, developing a project plan, project-managing internal and external resources and driving the initiative to completion
    • Liaise with internal and external advisors and stakeholders on strategic projects or other platform and technology matters; stakeholders include management, excos, FirstRand Group Management, the board, shareholders and the Regulators.
    • As required by specific projects, create dashboard metrics to monitor progress against strategy and highlight initiatives / risks
    • Research, analysis and integration of proposed solutions
    • Conduct local and international research on technology and fintech related  developments, e.g. competitor analysis, sector research, etc.
    • Benchmark research against peers and global best practice
    • Cut to the core of a vast volume of information and prioritize what is relevant to understanding specific issues and trends in the broader environment; know who to contact for specific information
    • Co-ordination / execution of relevant reports, presentations, speeches and other written material
    • Handle documentation that requires the attention of the relevant executive and prepare reports on various matters
    • Write / co-ordinate strategy documents, presentation material, speeches, briefing documents, minutes of meetings, business emails, regulatory, financial and compliance reports and other relevant documentation as required
    • Keep the relevant executive informed of various activities within and outside the group
    • Analyse, review and/or assist with issues of an operational or technical nature
    • Follow-up on assignments / tasks delegated by the executive / manager
    • Works with Corporate Marketing and other stakeholders on organising and facilitating adhoc events/workshops

    Overview of the role and requirements:

    • To oversee and ensure the successful delivery of our technology platforms. Lead cross-functional teams to implement technology solutions that meet business objectives.

    You will be responsible for:

    • Facilitate investment and capacity prioritisation for budgeting across the portfolio.
    • Surface interdependencies across the portfolio and facilitating appropriate sequencing, ensuring trade-offs understood.
    • Report across risk, delivery, costs vs budget, estimate time to completion and resourcing with associated actionable insights. Consumption of this reporting being for both internal and external stakeholders e.g. regulator.
    • Accountable for directing, owning, evolving and governing the Group wide standards, frameworks, measurement, operating model and associated enabling tooling across people, process, technology, and data - in collaboration with the various segment PMO.
    • Conduct external and competitor benchmarking to validate and evaluate our approach and progress in modernising our PMC ensuring it supports our platform objectives.
    • Build strong working relationships across segments, countries, and functional lines to enhance work delivery, collaboration, and innovation.
    • Own the decision-making process on build, buy or partner for PMC technologies, within the context of the Group standards and frameworks.
    • Drive a commercial mindset within the PMC community through measurement, up-skilling and change management.
    • Drive the ‘get, keep and grow’ Group people strategy for the PMC ensuring our people skills are aligned to successfully deliver on our platform objectives.
    • Demonstrate the quantitative and qualitative successful outcomes of the investment in modernising our PMC, in contributing to the achievement of our Platform objectives.
    • Continuously evaluate and improve project delivery processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Implement best practices for program and project governance, ensuring consistent execution across all technology initiatives.
    • Establish metrics and KPIs to monitor the progress and success of delivery initiatives, ensuring transparency and accountability.
    • Provide regular updates and reports to the Chief Digital Officer and other stakeholders regarding project status, risks, and outcomes.
