Position Overview
The Global Content Operations Group (GCO), part of Fitch’s new Chief Data Office (CDO)function, is seeking a Data Analyst to join Centurion team. The role will interface with teams across GCO and the wider CDO as well as groups in Fitch Ratings and Fitch Solutions, and will sit alongside and support our market-leading credit research team spanning offices in London, New York, Singapore, and Centurion.
You will be supporting Fitch Solutions (FS) Country Risk and Industry Research (CRIR) business, maintaining and analysing macro data, updating forecast data, and generating risk index scores for CRIR analysts and FS clients.
The role involves close collaboration with CRIR analysts and the wider GCO team for the purposes of quality, timeliness, policy adherence, and data governance. The role reports in to the CRIR Team Lead.
We are looking for candidates with a strong academic background and a keen interest in data, with a prior understanding of statistics and econometrics principles, and familiarity with macroeconomic data.
Responsibilities
Assist with data collection specific to CRIR business
Efficiently gather and analyse time-series data for use by CRIR analysts
Run and monitor forecast models and review model output
Collaborate with research analysts to ensure accurate and timely data in our products
Respond to internal and external queries regarding our data sets and methodologies
Work with CRIR sector leads to develop and improve FS product offering
Qualifications And Experience
Undergraduate degree in economicsor statistics or similar.
Academic or professional experience working with macroeconomic data
Proficiency in Excel
Knowledge of VBA, Python or similar preferred
Proven forecasting, analytical, and data manipulation skills
Must have a highly organised and methodical approach to work, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Self-starter who can pick up new processes quickly and accurately
Strong problem-solving skills and a can-do attitude to problems

Fitch Solutions Country Risk and Industry Research team is looking for a sub-editor to join its team in Centurion. The role will include editing the macroeconomic, political risk and industry research content produced by our global team of research analysts; working within our online content management system to track, edit and publish research; and helping ensure quality standards.
The role demands excellent written English, grammar and editing skills, meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage tight and overlapping deadlines across a range of online daily research notes and weekly, monthly and quarterly reports. Candidates will have excellent written English; the ability to edit to a strict writing style; a high level of numeracy and comfort working with data; and some knowledge of and interest in global economics, politics and business. The role requires an individual who is happy working independently, organising their time to meet their allocated workload; who can work alongside and support research analysts to help raise overall quality standards; and who can work as part of a wider sub-editorial team, contributing to ad-hoc tasks, team deadline management and other team projects aimed at improving sub-editorial processes. This role reports to the Chief Sub-Editor.
Responsibilities Include
Editing political, economic and industry-specific content across a variety of industries and countries.
Editing content within our own content management system, and publishing it onto our website.
Editing copy for consistency, style, figures, libel & copyright infringement, grammar and punctuation.
Managing own daily and weekly workload.
Communicating closely with the wider Research, Sub-Editorial and Production teams to ensure timely publication of content.
Updating the content management system to record and track publication workflow.
Ensuring quality standards of content, as set out in the editorial guidelines.
Contributing to sub-editorial process improvements.
Qualifications And Experience
Degree-educated.
Fluent English speaker, with excellent written English.
Meticulous attention to detail.
Ability to work to tight deadlines and excellent time management skills.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Interest in current affairs and international business.
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Desirable
Experience of editing and proofreading within an English-language environment.
Previous experience of working on industry/economic editorial content.
Previous experience working with a content management system and layout software like Adobe InDesign.
Online publishing experience.
Knowledge of copyright and libel law.
Knowledge of economics.
