Requirements :

• Grade 12 National Senior Certificate. National Diploma in Safety Management (NQF Level 6). SAMTRAC Certificate.
• Code 8 Driver’s licence. Computer Literacy – MS Office

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Coordinates the implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting sequences of outcomes associated with Building Safety.
• Co-ordination of operations associated with the enforcement of policies, procedures and practices dictating health and safety in the municipality
• To ensure the risk of damage to municipal property and/ or injuries and loss of lives is limited through prompt and efficient execution of safety sequences and applications
• Communicating with the supervisor on specific Key Performance Areas (Accident prevention & Loss control measures) with a view to aligning functions/ objectives against the capacity and capability of the Section.
• Inspecting work sites and/ or conducting observations of work sequences and determining extent of safety awareness and/ or the need for corrective/ remedial measures.
• Conducting demonstrations and/ or communication staff briefings with a view to empowering and capacitating employees with basic safety and awareness skills to identify and capably manage threatening situations.
• Coordinating emergency planning and evacuation of Municipal Buildings and work areas.
• Preparing reports and participating in various meetings (Health and Safety Committees, internal departments and external forums) and provides comments/ opinions on matters affecting or concerning the functionality.
• Compiling statistical returns required from departments, in keeping with legal requirements and returns necessary for Government Departments (Department of Labour), and collating, analyzing and interpreting statistics using specialized knowledge.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have complete B degree/National Diploma in Accounting/Financial Management N6/Accounting and Internal Audit. Applicants from rural areas will be given preference and residence within the Gert Sibande District Municipality area of jurisdiction.

DUTIES:

The incumbent will be exposed to various functions within the Finance Department, including the following:

• Performing specific clerical tasks associated with the processing of information pertaining to debtors, creditors, income and expenditure.
• Reconciling debtors, creditors and general ledger accounts.
• Assisting with the input of salary information and the control of such data
• Maintaining proper financial records and ensuring access to such records are safeguarded.
• Performing specific functions related to the management of electronic data and records.
• Ensuring the timeous submission of statutory third party financial returns.
• Assisting with the compilation of the annual budgets, SDBIP and financial statements.
• Generating relevant financial reports for the various Management and Committee structures within the Municipality
• Internal Audit functions and processes
• Supply Chain management processes

REQUIREMENTS

• An accredited B. Degree qualification in the Civil Engineering field of study
• Registration as a Professional with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA)
• A minimum of five years’ post-registration experience
• SARF Certification for Roads Training will be an added advantage.
• Experience with RRAMS will be an added advantage
• Ability to train and mentor civil graduates
• Computer Literacy

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

• Draft a program (in collaboration with the client) designed to guide mentees through a structured, competency-based training program that aligns with ECSA’s professional standards
• Establish formal monitoring structures where competency growth is tracked
• Recommend CPD-accredited training opportunities
• Mix of online and face to face engagements between Mentor and Mentees
