    ICT Systems Analyst

    Key Perofrmance Areas:

    Business & Systems Analysis

    • Elicit, analyse, and document business, technical, and information system requirements.
    • Develop functional and technical specifications for ICT systems supporting engineering and asset management environments.
    • Map business processes to system workflows and integration requirements.
    • Conduct stakeholder workshops to validate system requirements and solution architecture.
    • Produce system requirement specifications (SRS), interface control documents (ICD), and data mapping structures

    ICT Solution Design & Systems Integration

    • Design and configure ICT systems supporting digital engineering, information management, and asset data environments.
    • Define system architecture for Common Data Environments (CDE), document management platforms, and asset information systems.
    • Ensure integration between enterprise platforms (ERP, EAM, GIS, BIM, document management systems).
    • Oversee data exchange protocols and API integration requirements.
    • Coordinate with software vendors, developers, and system integrators.

    System Testing, Validation & Assurance

    • Develop system test strategies, scripts, and validation plans.
    • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and system commissioning.
    • Validate data integrity, system performance, and cybersecurity compliance.
    • Identify system defects and manage remediation workflows.
    • Ensure solutions meet ICT governance, performance, and security standards.

    ICT Governance, Risk & Data Management

    • Ensure compliance with ICT policies, cybersecurity frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
    • Support system audits and information governance processes.
    • Define data ownership, access controls, and lifecycle management policies.
    • Implement controls aligned with enterprise risk management principles.
    • Maintain system documentation, configuration registers, and change control records

    Systems Optimisation & Lifecycle Support

    • Monitor system performance and recommend improvements.
    • Support transition of project systems into operational environments.
    • Optimise asset information systems for long-term reliability and reporting.
    • Analyse system usage metrics to improve efficiency and user adoption.
    • Provide advanced troubleshooting and systems advisory support.

    Stakeholder Engagement & ICT Advisory

    • Act as ICT liaison between engineering teams, project managers, and ICT departments.
    • Provide technical guidance on enterprise digital platforms.
    • Deliver training on ICT system functionality and governance requirements.
    • Support strategic ICT planning aligned to business objectives.

    Requirements

    Qualifications

    • A recognised post graduate degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering Informatics, Engineering or the Built Environment.
    • Formal training in systems analysis methodologies and enterprise ICT architecture.
    • Professional registration with the Institute of Information Technology Professionals South Africa (IITPSA) (or eligibility to register).
    • Formal training or certification in digital information management aligned to ISO 19650 and asset management aligned to ISO 55000.

    Experience

    Essential

    • 8 - 10 years’ experience in ICT systems analysis, enterprise systems integration, digital platform implementation.
    • Experience working within complex, multi-stakeholder infrastructure or enterprise environments.
    • Proven experience translating business requirements into system architecture and technical specifications.
    • Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies and systems integration principles.
    • Experience managing ICT governance and information assurance processes.
    • Strong understanding of the asset lifecycle and the challenges of project-to-operations handover.
    • Experience influencing teams without direct authority.

    Desirable

    • Experience in public-sector or state-owned rail environments.
    • Experience working with incomplete or legacy asset information.

    Design Engineer: Railway Geometry

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop horizontal and vertical rail alignments for new railways (passenger and freight), track upgrades, station layouts, siding layouts, marshalling yards, and material handling facilities.
    • Produce detailed designs including plan, long section, cross sections, rail profiles, can- and can't‑deficiency calculations, curvature, gradients, and transition curves.
    • Design track layouts incorporating turnouts, crossovers, special trackwork, and interfaces with Signaling, OHTE and fixed structures.
    • Ensure geometric designs comply with applicable standards (e.g., Transnet, PRASA, EN, AREMA, Network Rail etc.).
    • Create 3D rail geometry models using relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, OpenRail Designer, BIM and Revit).
    • Develop and maintain the quality management system documentation.
    • Conduct design checks, quality reviews, and clash detection.
    • Collaborate with civil, structural, drainage, environmental, signaling, OHTE, and operations teams to ensure integrated design solutions.
    • Provide technical input during feasibility, concept, preliminary, and detailed design stages.
    • Support multidisciplinary design reviews, workshops, and risk assessments.
    • Prepare and present engineering reports, cost estimates, design documentation, and technical specifications.
    • Provide engineering support through construction, including responding to RFIs, design adjustments, and site queries.
    • Contribute to project planning, design programme development, and progress reporting.
    • Ensure all work meets safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

    Requirements

    Qualifications and Experience

    • BSc/BEng/BTech Degree in Civil Engineering.
    • Registered with ECSA as PrEng/PrTechEng.
    • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in rail geometric design (freight and passengers).
    • Experience must include Construction Management.

    Senior Draughtsperson (CAD Specialist)

    Key Performance Areas

    • Creating detailed technical drawings, such as plans, elevations, and sections, using computer-aided design(CAD) software.
    • Interpreting engineering and architectural drawings, specifications, and other technical documents to create accurate drawings.
    • Reviewing and revising drawings and plans based on feedback from project teams, engineers, or architects.
    • Collaborating with project teams, engineers, or architects to ensure that technical drawings meet project requirements and specifications.
    • Creating and maintaining drawing libraries and databases, ensuring that all drawings are properly filed and organized.
    • Conducting quality control checks on drawings and plans to ensure accuracy and completeness.
    • Preparing bill of quantities and material lists for construction or manufacturing projects.
    • Participating in design review meetings and providing technical support and guidance to project teams.
    • Ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.

    Job Requirements:

    Qualifications

    • Relevant degree or certificate in drafting

    Experience

    • At least 5 years’ experience and a draughtsperson.
    • Experienced in drafting standards, as well as familiarity with engineering and architectural drawings and specifications.
    • Proficiency in industry-specific software and tools including ACAD, Civil 3d and/or Revit is required
