Minimum Requirements:
Be in possession of a grade 12 certificate or equivalent
Have 2 to 5 years’ underground experience in Fire Master duties.
Demonstrate ability for high-level report writing in English and be computer literate.
Have a Code 8 (EB) driver’s license.
Advantageous:
HAZMAT First Responder and or HAZMAT Operational.
Surface and underground fire fighting experience
Experience at supervisory level.
Tertiary qualification in firefighting engineering
Trade certificate (Artisan-Instrument Mechanician / Technician)
Intermediate certificate in mine environmental control
First Aid Certificate
Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre and pass a Heat Tolerance Screening test, and such other tests as may be required to assess the applicant’s suitability for employment.
Key Competencies:
Knowledge of the relevant legislation:
National Building Regulations Act 103 of 1977.
Knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act 29 of 1996.
Knowledge of the applicable SANS – South Africa National Codes and Standards
Knowledge of fire prevention policies, procedures, and regulations
Effective planning and designing of fire detection systems; fire prevention procedures and emergency procedures
Have ability to liaise with internal and external parties.
Have skills and competencies in risk assessment methodologies
Duties and Responsibilities:
Carry out duties as prescribed in the Mine Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
Conduct legal inspections and audits as determined by legislation and organizational procedures. Report such findings to the employer.
Conduct accident / incident investigations as and when required, especially with regards to fires and associated incidents. Provide recommendations in this regard.
Promote emergency awareness.
Maintain firefighting equipment and fire systems effectiveness and availability.
Compile and maintain relevant code of practices, procedures and standards relating to emergency response.

Minimum Requirements:
Be in possession of a Matric / Grade 12 Qualification or Equivalent.
Have minimum of 2 years underground survey experience.
Be in possession of a COM Elementary Survey Certificate or a Tertiary qualification in Mine Survey.
Be computer literate in Microsoft Office.
Experience with the MineCAD, Point Cloud processing software (i.e., Leica Infinity, Cyclone 3D-Reshaper, Surpac, etc).
Trackless Mining Survey and voiding processing experience (advantageous).

Duties and Responsibilities:
General survey work associated with underground mining.
Scanning of long hole stopes, development, and de stress excavations.
Accurate installation and surveying of underground and surface survey stations.
Accurate measurement of secondary support.
Issuing of Survey/Holing Notes.
Interacting and communicating with other Technical Services Departments and Mining Department.
Responsible and accountable for the accurate measurement of all underground excavations in accordance with the Mines Survey Standard Operating Procedure and legal standards

Minimum Requirements:
Be in possession of a Grade 12 Matric Certificate or NQF Level 4 Qualification.
Be in possession of a valid trade certificate.
Be in possession of a valid driver’s licence EB (Code 08).
Have worked as an Electrician in the Metallurgical Plant environment with Medium Voltage experience.
Have sound knowledge of Metallurgical Plant maintenance.
Be willing to work shifts, overtime and perform standby duties when required.
Be appointed under regulation 2.9.2 of the Minerals Act and applicable regulations to the Mine Health and Safety Act.
Knowledge of Soft starters and VSD’s (advantageous).
Medium Voltage Certificate (advantageous).

Repairing, maintenance and construction of MCC’s, substations, crushers, conveyors and general maintenance in and around the Metallurgical Plant/Backfill Plant/FPT Plant.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensuring that condition monitoring of equipment, scheduled and planned maintenance is conducted timeously and effectively.
Repairing, maintenance and construction of MCC’s, substations, crushers, conveyors and general maintenance in and around the Metallurgical Plant/Backfill Plant/FPT Plant.
Repairing breakdowns as they occur and assist with expansions and construction of new equipment installations.
Responsible for proper discipline in section.
Providing and maintaining a safe environment with minimum risk to health and safety of employees in the section.
To promote and develop team work to become an effective team leader.
To ensure health and safety of self and fellow colleagues by applying safety standards and procedures in all planning and execution of working activities.
Carry out general installation and construction work.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct daily inspections on the equipment to assess maintenance or repair work to be carried out
Carry out risk assessments prior to commencement of work
Attend to equipment breakdowns
Prioritise and repair equipment
Carry out routine inspections as per planned maintenance job cards
Attend to callouts to carry out emergency repairs
Read hydraulic drawings according to standards and procedures and specifications
Collaborate with service providers to carry out external inspections on equipment, as and when required
Complete job cards and provide feedback to the Foreman at end of shift
