PURPOSE OF POSITION

• The Unit manager will oversee the enhancement of nursing care quality by ensuring adherence to professional and ethical standards. They will also monitor and ensure that nursing care and service delivery adhere to standards within a multi-disciplinary quality assurance team. Additionally, the role includes coordinating capacity building, mentoring, and training initiatives.

• Ensuring compliance with protocols, policies, and regulatory Acts.

• Providing safe, cost-effective, quality patient care aligned with Clinical Governance and evidence-based practice.
• Evaluating patient experiences and stakeholder feedback to improve services.
• Monitoring nursing quality indicators and clinical outcomes.

COMPETENCIES (The following will be advantageous)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

(Educational Qualifications & Experience)

• Diploma/Degree in Nursing.
• Post Basic Qualification: Trauma (Essential)
• Qualification in management
• SANC Registration as Professional Nurse
• Basic Life Support certification
• Proficiency in computer applications, including electronic medical records systems.
• +5 years Trauma Exp. in Shift Leader/Management role

KEY PERFORMANCE AREA

• Responsible for the accounting and costing preparation of the respective companies.
• Prepare reports for the Senior Accountant or respective managers.
• Be able to supervise staff and ensure deadlines are adhered to.
• Must be able to prepare and complete accounting functions up to balance sheet.
• Responsible to prepare monthly management accounts and recons.
• Carry out tasks skilfully and diligently as assigned to you.
• Review and ensure accurate financial recording by the creditors and cash book clerk.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Must have a B.Comm/Compt Degree.
• Completed Articles with an audit firm will be advantageous.
• Must have 3 years work experience.
• Must be computer literate – MS Word & Excel.
• Accpac experience advantageous.

• To Assist with the management, control and distribution of stock in the Surgical Stores Department of the Pharmacy.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

• Responsible for packing surgical stock for wards and theatre according to replenishment lists that are printed daily.
• Ensuring correct and accurate Billing is completed for chits received at Surgical Stores.
• Stock Control – ensuring adequate stock levels are on hand, reviewing expiry dates and preparation of expired and short dates stock lists.
• Transporting of surgical stock to ward and theatre as required.
• Placing orders for surgical stock items to suppliers as needed.
• Receiving stock and reconciling all invoicing which were received for stock according to procedure.
• Assist with receipt of stock onto the HMS system, posting transfers and usages.
• Bar coding of new stock received.
• Handling and resolving queries and escalating where required.
• Co-ordinating new product evaluations at theatre and ward level.
• Act as a relief to the theatre stock controller when they are on leave and/or not available.

COMPETENCIES (The following will be advantageous)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

(Educational Qualifications & Experience)

• Must have Grade 12 qualification.
• Must be computer literate.
• Must have knowledge of stock control (Surgical Stock would be an advantage)
• 1 – 2 years' experience in a Pharmacy or Hospital environment.
• Basic /Post basic level qualification will be advantageous.
