    Head: Logistics and Packaging

    Job Purpose:

    Reporting to the Procurement Director, the incumbent of this position will be responsible for the development and implementation of a category strategy to optimize total cost of ownership, minimize risk and ensure sustainability for Logistics and Packaging spend across Mondi South Africa.

    Qualification and Expertise:

    • Degree in Supply Chain, Commerce or Category relevant.
    • CSCP qualification, CIPS registration and / or qualification would be an added advantage
    • Proficiency in MS Office suites will be essential
    • Competent in the use of SAP MM module is preferred
    • Valid drivers license

    Job Experience:

    • 5 - 10 years in strategic sourcing / operations / commercial / category specialist role
    • Transport and Logistics operational knowledge will be advantageous
    • Leadership or managerial experience will be essential
    • Procurement in international environment and leadership experience preferable 

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Develops a category strategy (3 to 5 years), develops road maps to implement the strategy and monitor against this
    • Ensures category alignment with the Group Procurement team
    • Scopes and sources at a global level
    • Drives supplier negotiations and facilitates contract implementation. Manages against these contracts to ensure Service level Agreement compliance
    • Conducts supplier relationship management including supplier audits and evaluations
    • Performs regular market analysis and benchmarking
    • Focuses on buying channel digitalisation and automation 
    • Monitors risks and ensures that the strategy and road maps are adjusted to account for any changes
    • Minimises Total Cost of Ownership
    • Drives value creation and innovative thinking
    • Builds strong relationships with Operations and maintains a good understanding of Operations
    • Partners effectively with the Supply Chain Management department to deliver ongoing logistics cost reduction and drive strategic partnerships with key logistics service providers
    • Ensures effective people management

    Coordinator Safety and Systems

    PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

    • Reporting to the Risk Manager, the successful incumbent is to ensure a zero Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR) is maintained by providing guidance and advice in safety related matters and implementing and maintaining the safety programme at the Merebank Mill.  

    SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE:

    • 3 years relevant Safety experience
    • 5 years relevant experience in a manufacturing environment

    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERTISE:
    Essential:  

    • National Diploma in Safety Management or equivalent  

    Desirable: 

    • B-Tech Safety Management / Relevant Engineering qualification/expertise
    • Safety related short courses i.e SAMTRAC/ NEBOSH 
    • OHSAS 18001 training

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Maintains the ISO 45001 Health and Safety management system
    • Ensures effective application and audits of the  ISO 45001  safety system
    • Guide and assist risk assessments within the operations and new projects
    • Promotes continuous improvement with regards to safety controls & systems
    • Plans and executes safety audits (behavioral & other)
    • Liaises with Department of Labor, external authorities and other statutory bodies to ensure legal compliance
    • Facilitates and advises on incident investigations both during and after hours
    • Ensures that Contractor Companies remain legally compliant – OHS Act and ISO 45001
    • Develops and promote safety awareness for employees and contractors
    • Generates applicable monthly reports
    • Be familiar with the OHS Act, Construction regulations, Rail regulations and interpretation of them – to render advice
    • Performs Safety-related training when required
    • Generates safety statistics and play a key role in investigations of incidents
    • Supports departments fully in any safety-related aspect for the benefit of employee safety as per Service Level Agreement

    JOB COMPETENCIES / ATTRIBUTES/SKILLS:

    • Computer literacy: MS Office, SAP knowledge
    • Good Verbal and written communication skills
    • Good Interpersonal Skills, patience with leadership skills

    PI Developer

    Purpose of the position: 

    • Reporting into the Manager: Analyst Business Production Technologies, the incumbent will perform the function of PI/MIS across MSA mills, performing systems automation and digitalization  

    Qualifications & Expertise:

    •   Matric (Maths and Physical Science)
    •   PI System Administration for IT Professional
    •   Building PI System Assets & Analytics with Asset Framework
    •   Visualising PI System Data
    •   Tertiary qualification Information Technology or Programming or equivalent (NQF 5)

    Experience:

    • A minimum of 1-3 year relevant experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably in the pulp and paper industry)
    • DCS, OPC Server, Pulp and Paper knowledge will be an added advantage
    • Networking and IT/OT infrastructure knowledge will be an added advantage

    Functional Outputs:

    • PI Server/PI AF
    • Maintain and Support PI Interfaces: PI OPC (Object Linking and Embedding) for Process Control), PI RDBMS (Relational Database), PI to PI interface, PI SNMP interface
    • Tag configuration and setup
    • Develop and Maintain reports using Excel and SSRS (Sequel Server Reporting Services)
    • Develop and Maintain Process Book Visualizations
    • Maintain and Create PI Notifications
    • Assist with PI Processbook/PI AF and Explorer installations and Connections
    • Providing on-call emergency support for High Priority issues and other business critical situations in a fast-paced environment
    • Providing training for end-users and system administrators
    • Provide support to end users

    Competencies:

    • Excel Knowledge
    • PI Datalink
    • Knowledge of programing (C#, VBA, VB6)
    • Knowledge of SQL Server programming and Database Design
    • Understanding of PI UDS (Upload/Download Software)
    • Understanding PI System Architecture and integration from various data sources to PI
    • Ability to communicate effectively – both written and verbal
    • Team Player
    • Display a high level of integrity and accuracy
