Job Description
Responsible for the overall supervision of the statutory accounts as well as internal an external reporting required by the Old Mutual Insure group. To partner with the business with the financial knowledge and advice, as well as develop supporting processes that continuously enhance the delivery of financial information.
Business Management support
Manage the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and in line with IFRS principles.
Manage daily activities to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial information.
Produce and distribute monthly financial reports (internal and external) inclusive of commentary and facilitate all queries.
Ensure that all reconciliations (balance sheet and income statements) are produced are accurate and are reviewed on a timely basis.
Ensure Group/Cell reporting is accurate, on time and in line with group/cell requirements.
Co-ordinate and review all queries received by the holding company/cells.
Ensure implementation and adherence to finance policies, procedures and systems across all teams
Draft Annual report (consolidation) as well as standalone annual financial statements within the appropriate accounting framework (IFRS and IFRS for SME's),
Oversee and coordinate internal/external audits and ensure all business information provided is in line with the needs of the audit.
Continuous improvement to ensure effective service
Ensure proper procedures and systems are being maintained to ensure accurate reporting and accounting statutory finance, in compliance with the company policies and statutory and regulatory standards and requirements
Ensure adherence to organisational policies, practices, guides, mandates and procedures.
Identify solutions to enhance cost effectiveness and increase operational efficiency.

Review relevant transactions and reconciliations to ensure it is recorded in line with IFRS and accurately reflected in the financial records of the company.
Responsible to ensure that the integrity of the financial information on a monthly basis is accurate, complete and is in terms of IFRS principles.
To review financial transactions on the accounting system before final posting to ensure that all transactions are processed accurately in terms of sources systems.
To apply the basic accounting principles, knowledge, and techniques to analyse variances, assist in production of journals, and perform routine accounting activities.
To perform accounting computations and calculations accurately, and try to identify if there are discrepancies, and if there are any errors, try to resolve them.
Prepare or collate reconciliations for each balance sheet line item using external verification.
Prepare or collate reconciliations for key income statement accounts.
Recommends financial actions by analysing accounting options.
Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analysing account information from source system
Prepare, examine, and analyse accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
Develop work routines in line with operational plans / schedules in order to ensure deliverables are met on time.

Job Description
This is a senior management role, focused on sales delivery, strategic execution, people development, and regulatory compliance. There are 5 first line managers with an average team size of 20 Financial Advisers, reporting into the Regional Manager. The Advisers span from new entrants to highly seasoned financial advisers, and this role has a mandate to grow the Financial Adviser footprint. The Regional Manager forms part of the KZN EXCO and contributes towards the leadership, direction, and sales strategies for the region.
This role is responsible for the following:
Meeting AREA business plan targets including, Adviser recruitment & retention, sales targets, customer acquisition and market share growth.
Working collaboratively across different distribution channels within the area to optimize synergies and opportunities.
Has overall accountability over compliant advice practices, risk management and the operations of the branch under their span of control.
Works closely with service and operations support functions to ensure related sales support procedures and standards are adhered to and effectively running to enable sales.

Job Description
Implement and manage a fit-for-purpose framework to measure and manage the Treasury, Investment strategy of Old Mutual Insure.
Management of the Treasury/Investment function
Ensure that Old Mutual Insure has sufficient funds on call for daily cash flow purposes.
Manage the reconciliation of all Investment accounts.
Manage the review of investment information to meet regulatory requirements.
Conduct detailed budgeting and forecasting of investments.
Monitor and track investment income and ensure optimal returns are achieved.
Implement the investment strategy within the required risk framework of the organisation.
Benchmark investment returns against comparable market returns and providing recommendations to the CMC and Exco where appropriate.
Liaise with investment and fund managers over the construction of portfolios and the delivery of investment performance.
Take ownership for the basket of investable assets on the balance sheet and oversee the management of assets on subsidiary balance sheets.
Manage investment risk related policies and standards.
Ensure investments and related returns are recorded in line with IFRS.
Review valuations done outside of finance in terms of the deal structuring
Track return of investments against original business cases where applicable.
