Job Description

Implement and manage a fit-for-purpose framework to measure and manage the Treasury, Investment strategy of Old Mutual Insure.

Management of the Treasury/Investment function

• Ensure that Old Mutual Insure has sufficient funds on call for daily cash flow purposes.

• Manage the reconciliation of all Investment accounts.

• Manage the review of investment information to meet regulatory requirements.

• Conduct detailed budgeting and forecasting of investments.

• Monitor and track investment income and ensure optimal returns are achieved.

• Implement the investment strategy within the required risk framework of the organisation.

• Benchmark investment returns against comparable market returns and providing recommendations to the CMC and Exco where appropriate.

• Liaise with investment and fund managers over the construction of portfolios and the delivery of investment performance.

• Take ownership for the basket of investable assets on the balance sheet and oversee the management of assets on subsidiary balance sheets.

• Manage investment risk related policies and standards.

• Ensure investments and related returns are recorded in line with IFRS.

• Review valuations done outside of finance in terms of the deal structuring

• Track return of investments against original business cases where applicable.
