Job Description
Purpose:
We are looking for an experienced Creditors Clerk to form part of our Creditors team within Finance Operations. Finance Operations forms part of the wider Finance function. The purpose of this role is, together with the wider Creditors team, capture, account for and pay invoices pertaining to the functioning of the wider OUTsurance business. Considering the importance of the role in the functioning of our business and relationships with external stakeholders, this role requires someone who thrives under pressure, can work to tight deadlines, communicates well and can work accurately under pressure.

Minimum Matric or equivalent qualification
Accounting Diploma / BCom Accounting qualification
Experience:
Comprehensive previous experience in a creditors clerk role is a prerequisite for this position

Excellent communication skills in terms of the ability to communicate well verbally and in writing (emails), knowing when to escalate and how to follow up with other stakeholders;
Grasp for main general ledger accounts and allocation of invoices to particular account categories;
Knowledge of the VAT Act;
The ability to work accurately, even when under pressure;
Collaboration and the spirit to help other team members out when possible;
Adaptability in an ever changing environment;

The ability to take initiative.

The ideal candidate we are looking for is someone who has previously worked in an accounting or Finance role, preferably within a Creditors function. The person must have good experience of a Creditors role and must have the ability to deal with large volumes of work. The ability to work under pressure but also function in a team where high levels of team work is required, is essential. Dealing with and meeting deadlines is also critical.

Job Description
The main responsibility of the successful candidate will be to work alongside the Operational Management Team to drive data driven decision making and excellence in execution of strategies. Providing analytics support and data insights is achieved by using the following solutions:
Build and maintain management reports/dashboards (SQL, Visual Studio, Data Models and Power BI)
Build and maintain internal data-driven automations (SQL/internally developed apps)
Document and formalise key data processes and models to ensure a robust data analytics framework
Build, maintain and improve predictive models to support business objectives including:
Work allocation models
Performance management models
Audit models
Qualifications
Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Engineering, Informatics or equivalent
The following would be beneficial:
Experience of working in the business intelligence or data analytics field
Hands-on experience with SQL programming
Experience in working with visualisation tools such as Power BI
Competencies:
Technical proficiency and an eagerness to expand skills and develop knowledge
Ownership orientated – must be able to take ownership over projects
Must have a passion for operational business processes and strategies
Someone that can deconstruct a problem on the fly and talk to others as you do so
Keen to work in a dynamic environment where there’s often no textbook solution
An ability to thrive in a busy environment with multiple deliverables
Solid interpersonal skills to effectively work alongside operations and IT

Job Description
The successful candidate will form part of the personal lines pricing and product development team. The main responsibility of the candidate will be to build and improve pricing models to achieve set business targets.
This includes, but is not limited to:
Understanding the different data sources and the value of the input data provided
Analysing data to be able to provide insights to business problems across company
Using statistical models to find appropriate solutions for business problems across company
Building pricing models using actuarial pricing techniques which includes data preparation, risk factor identification and applying different modelling techniques including Generalised Linear Models
Implementing new pricing models which includes system implementation and documentation of modelling process
Monitoring loss ratios and key performance indicators to identify opportunities to improve pricing models and / or product design features
Develop and design new products to enhance product offering to clients
Presenting results to senior management and other stakeholders
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Honours Degree in Actuarial Science
Successfully completed the Foundation & Intermediate Technical actuarial examinations (A1 & A2)
Preferably also completed the Actuarial Risk Management exam (A3)
0-3 years’ experience in actuarial analytics role
Ideally have experience in SQL and / or C#
Good academic track record
Solid interpersonal skills to work effectively alongside a variety of different stakeholders
Skills and Competencies:
Must have a passion for working with numbers and analysing data
Enjoy finding unique solutions to problems and implementing these solutions
Be able to communicate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders
Should have a strong affinity towards coding and designing robust solutions
Must be a self-starter who can successfully manage a number of different tasks simultaneously
