    Managing Editor

    Specification    
    As the Managing Editor you will:

    • Project manage a list of titles for publication
    • Apply editorial quality control measures
    • Maintain mutually beneficial relationships with external suppliers, and internal staff
    • Manage cost against approved budget
    • Maintain accurate records and detailed reporting on project progress
    • Adhere to company policies and protocols, notably systems and administration

    Requirements    
    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

    • 2 years’ experience in educational publishing (textbooks) a relevant degree
    • Excellent English language skills, written and spoken
    • An ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
    • An ability to operate on the SAP system
    • Knowledge of the publishing industry advantageous
    • Report writing
    • Copywriting
    • Proofreading
    • Editing
    • Contact building and negotiation
    • Budget monitoring and project management
    • A good understanding of pedagogy and knowledge of teaching methodology

    School Sales Consultant: Free State

    Specification    
    As the School Sales Consultant you will be responsible for:

    • Achieving sales targets for front- and backlist titles
    • Understanding OUP’s position in the market
    • Establishing and maintaining productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
    • Calling on schools, district education officials, key booksellers and libraries to generate sales
    • Conducting product presentations and facilitating workshops for educators

    Requirements    
    Qualifications & Experience:

    • Extensive sales experience

    • In-depth knowledge of the education and book trade market

    • Computer literate with MS Office, PowerPoint and Word

    Sales Consultant/Trainer KZN

    Introduction    
    Oxford University Press, an equal opportunity employer, seeks a talented individual to fill this post in its Schools Sales department, based KZN – Zululand region.

    Reporting to the KZN Provincial Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for maximizing sales with schools, libraries and booksellers, business development, organizing and conducting product presentations and workshops to educators and other key stakeholders as well as coordinating provincial activities.
