    Reporting Manager Snacks

    Job Description

    • Prepare the monthly reporting of snacks financials in HFM and any other related reporting to the Region
    • Prepare the Annual Financial Statements in compliance with IFRS /SA GAAP and the Companies Act.
    • Manage the accounting and recording of financial transactions in accordance with US GAAP and PepsiCo policies.
    • Manage the BU’s insurance process and accounting thereof, including the relationship with the broker i.e. AON
    • Responsible for Level 1 review of Snacks journals as well as SAP documents and general ledger reconciliations
    • Responsible for presentation of Balance Sheet Review Snacks and ensure that it has been correctly prepared
    • Responsible for managing and developing subordinate and monitor performance through regular performance reviews.
    • Support AFC – Reporting in performing periodic GCS self- assessment and remediation action plans for the Financial Reporting Process.
    • Support AFC – Reporting in the roll out of COSO through periodic updates of COSO process flows and key controls.
    • Perform projects and participate in business initiatives as directed by the AFC – Reporting and the Financial Controller.
    • Ensure accounting in line with PepsiCo policies and procedures
    • Prepare documentation in a meaningful manner for relevant processes
    • Responsible for adhoc analysis of accounting treatment of aspects in line with relevant accounting and Pepsico Policies
    • Developing and maintaining relevant mapping tables including mapping tables for Qlikview/sense/SAP RW
    • Key role player in supporting internal reporting initiatives as well as Sector wide projects
    • Develop and Maintain relevant Financial models, check files and presentations
    • Preparation of Notes for the record relating to technical accounting aspects affecting the Business
    • Laisse with Tax Manager as required to ensure all dependencies are met
    • Key backup role for tax calculations, reporting and tax sector submissions
    • Ensure effective backup and succession planning

    Qualifications/Requirements

    • CA (SA)
    • Computer literate i.e. MS Office, Hyperion, SAP is essential
    • FDM experience is advantageous
    • Advanced excel skills is essential
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in finance environment EXCLUDING articles

    Commercial Field Agronomist – Inland South

    Job Description

    • Responsible for educating growers on latest agronomic practices that drive best in class potato quality (lower defects, higher solids), increased yields, reduce foreign objects, inspects and recommend farmer washing/grading operations and equipment.
    • Develop, implement and maintain good handling practices for potatoes to ensure high quality potatoes from storage to the factory.
    • Provide Simba growers with best in class, specialist agronomic support to deliver improved potato quality, monitor crop performance (Croptrack) and implement sustainable improvements across all Simba growers and growing regions.
    • Provide regional Agro management with monthly commercial crop volume estimates compared to contracted volumes, forecast crop losses where it occur, and/or identify potential supply risks in order to effectively plan for “short/over-supply” for commercial contract periods.
    • Interact with plant schedulers regularly, potato laboratory when needed, FLM’s and Operations Managers where needed to facilitate effective management of the potato supply chain from farm to production.
    • Facilitate the successful integration of new potato varieties into SA Program (identify suitable fields and areas for field trials, monitor fields and crop progress regularly, monitor crop quality, arrange plant trials and jointly collate and analyze conversion and consumer performance).
    • Assist Commercial Potato Supply Manager in selecting regional strategic planting areas and farmers that will minimize risk and maximize productivity.
    • Facilitate and execute research projects (new plant materials, fertilizers and chemical, planting and irrigation practices), which will contribute positively to sustainability and productivity programs.
    • Stay updated with latest/best available technology in the agricultural industry in order to be able to assist farmers in making informed decisions.
       

    Qualifications/Requirements

    • Specialist Agronomical Knowledge of Potato Crop, with emphasis on quantity and quality forecasting (Preferably B.Sc. (Agric) degree or Diploma in agriculture).
    • Knowledge and experience of agricultural industry (5 + years).
    • Good technical and planning skills.
    • High level of computer literacy.
    • Bilingual.
    • Experience in the processing sector would be an advantage.
    • Experience in Agronomy related food safety programs.
    • Experience in Logistics would be beneficial.
