    Artisan Millwright

    Job Description    

    • To maintain the overall effectiveness of equipment and the plants on site which includes Electrical and Mechanical support.
    • To anticipate possible machine reliability problems, which could appear and take appropriate actions to ensure manufacturing process continuity
    • To facilitate and lead problem solving processes; provide inputs/suggestions to the maintenance team leader for continuous improvement
    • To record and analyse breakdown trends per machine using a maintenance system in order to motivate equipment improvement or purchases
    • To render support on ad hoc projects e.g., renovate and refurbish machines/installations and commission in order to optimize process flow
    • To ensure compliance with relevant Food Safety, Health Safety and GMP Requirements through the maintenance of process and document controls according to SOP’s
    • To provide on job coaching for Handyman and Apprentices as and when required in line with Premier’s Leadership promise
    • To supervise, train and coach Technical Operators regarding SOP’s and work instructions to ensure best operating practices

    Qualification Requirements    

    • N3/N4 Qualification in Relevant field
    • Matric
    • Trade Test Certificate (Red Seal)

    Experience Requirements    

    • 3-5 years’ experience in relevant trade
    • 3 years’ experience in a FMCG environment
    • Experience with High-Speed Continuous Operations

    Accountant Mill

    Purpose of the job: 

    • To manage the financial function on site through the implementation of financial controls, recording and reporting to ensure controls are maintained in all finance related functions/procedures relating to business on site/s in area of responsibility to mitigate risks.

    Job objectives:

    • To ensure asset management processes are implemented and maintained to manage stock, accurately to prevent theft.
    • To manage all procedures relating to debtors and creditors to prevent misappropriation of company funds.
    • To ensure accurate recording and reporting of financial information through compilation of balance sheet reconciliations
    • To provide a cost management service to the management team in respect of deviation reporting along with waste elimination opportunities.

    Responsibilities:

    Financial accounting including: 

    • Initiating and maintaining of company procedures and policies relating to admin and finance
    • Managing risk and taking corrective action
    • Budget preparation, monitoring and variance reporting
    • Forecasting and financial projections
    • Ensuring correctness/accuracy of financial data

    Head Miller

    Job Description    

    To ensure milling process delivers consistent high-quality products in line with required specifications by:

    • Adapting process as required to optimise milling efficiencies and product quality
    • Control process variations to ensure product quality
    • Managing team to deliver agreed targets
    • Support root cause analysis needed
    • Propose corrective action and escalate to relevant stakeholders
    • Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, QC and or Packing Managers to ensure continuous operations in the value chain.

    Responsible to ensure cost effective stock control of required ingredients by:

    • Withdrawing correct ingredients in line with the milling plan
    • Ensure machinery works at correct feed rate
    • Verify machine addition rates and bin dips against agreed targets
    • Verify process checks by performing spot check on the stock control sheet

    Ensure high performance culture in the production shift team by:

    • building and motivating capability through competency-based selection
    • training and development, coaching, mentoring, performance management
    • effective communications
    • leading and participating in Invocoms and meetings as needed
    • ensuring good discipline and accountability
    • establishing good working relationships with union representatives
    • ensuring a conducive and safe working environment according to the Premier way
    • To ensure production process adheres to health & safety and food safety requirements and process controls (SOP’s)

    To ensure continuous improvement of the production process performance through:

    • Tracking performance against target in the Invocoms
    • Ensuring a culture of learning and continuous improvement
    • To ensure asset maintenance in collaboration with   the cleaning and   maintenance departments
    • To complete training and development as outlined in their individual development plan to create succession pipeline for the Production manager role.

    Qualification Requirements    

    • Qualified Miller SAGMA/ GMF or equivalent (Essential
    • Previous experience working as a Head Miller (6 -8 years)
    • LSS Yellow belt or Lean Practitioner (Desirable)

    Experience Requirements    

    • 6 -8 years  experience in the similar role.
