Job Description

Reporting to the MD, You will be responsible for managing 2 factories, one in the East Rand and one in the West Rand.

• Establish goals for production
• Recommend ways to increase / improve production.
• Assure products meet quality standards.
• Procure steel to meet the production schedule.
• Analyze production data and optimize for efficiency.
• Ensure workers and equipment meet performance and safety requirements.
• Look for opportunities to improve operations.
• Estimate manufacturing costs and identify ways to reduce them
• Monitor production output and adjust processes as necessary to meet deadlines
• Determine the cost of products being manufactured, ensuring these costs are controlled.
• Maintain the machinery in the factory to limit downtime.
• Recommend the purchasing of new equipment to replace older / less efficient machinery or to introduce new machinery to increase production.
• Hire, train, and assess the performance of workers. Meet with the unions when required.
• Manage the maintenance of the warehouse.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Manufacturing/Production/Business

Skills

• Strong background in steel / component manufacturing
• A minimum of 10+ years management and manufacturing experience
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Excellent team-building and interpersonal skills
• Strong leadership skills and ability to manage cross-functional team members
• Technical competencies in manufacturing (e.g. technical drawings, blueprints, CAD/CAM)

Job Description

• My client is a Specialised Food ingredients supplier into the Food Manufacturing Industry. They currently supply flavours and some other ingredients but are looking at extending the product range into enzyme products and other speciality ingredient areas. And so I am looking for a dynamic, stable Technical Sales Rep with a Diploma in Food Technology or equivalent to expand and maintain the business. I am looking for at least 4 years Technical Sales experience. Must have some Technical Sales background and a technical knowledge of ingredients and some food processing technologies. Travel is an integral part of the position – mainly local in Gauteng but there will be national travel and international travel occasionally.

Qualifications

• Minimally a Diploma in Food Technology or equivalent or higher tertiary qualification
