    Regional Head of Business Development and Commercial Operations

    The individual will support the Regional CEO in driving delivery of the business results, developing short term and long term commercial strategy. Creation and implementation of new business Knowledge Skills and Abilities.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage market share across the region.
    • Conduct regional competitor analysis.
    • Provide insights into competitor behavior.
    • Identify trends in the regional market across Lines of business.

    New Business

    • Actively seek out new business opportunities.
    • Identify viable new business opportunities across the region – being aware of M&A activity and opportunities for portfolio actions/rationalization.
    • Business case development.


    Management

    • Manage entities.
    • Manage directors.
    • Manage dividends.
    • Profitable management of contracts and projects.
    • Owner of regional CAPEX.
    • Regional project management.
    • Regional key account management.


    Stakeholder Management

    • Provide commercial direction to the region and General Managers.

    Regional Compliance Officer

     

    • Promotes and monitors employees’ compliance with the Puma Energy Code of Business Conduct and associated policies.
    • Understand the compliance risks in the various areas of operation within the region.
    • Is a part of the regional leadership team; supports the regional leadership in building a robust, compliant culture and the willingness of employees to raise issues and ask questions about the Code of Conduct.
    • Role model the Puma Energy core values and ways of working

    Help raise awareness of compliance and act as a custodian of:

    • The Puma Code of Conduct; and
    • All policies, processes and tools developed by the function aimed at mitigating risks;
    • Work closely with the business leaders to implement appropriate compliance procedures;
    • Act as an adviser to all business managers on any Compliance and Ethics matters;
    • Act as an adviser to all employees on Code related matters.

    Help promote and assess compliance with Puma employees as well as with 3rd parties:

    • Develop and provide training on all areas of Compliance and Ethics related laws and policies but in particular the Puma Code of Conduct and accompanying policies. Identify areas of need for additional training;
    • Monitor understanding and completion of Compliance and Ethics focused courses and training;
    • Visit countries in the portfolio, on a risk basis, to provide local support and assess the maturity of the Compliance and Ethics program on the ground.

    Understand the compliance risks in the various areas of operation within the region:

    • Assess that compliance risks are identified, prioritized and mitigated (including promoting awareness of legal requirements) as part of the organization’s regular risk management processes;
    • Inform the Global Head of Compliance and Ethics about these risks; and
    • Work alongside the relevant parties to mitigate identified risks, including developing of additional compliance policies and processes specific to the region, if needed.

    Drive third party relationship management processes.

    • Support KYC due diligence and background checks of any agents, distributors, or other third party intermediaries that are used by Puma in the region;
    • Provide training to third parties as may be required.

    Raise awareness of and help promote and open reporting environment.

    • Encourage employees, leaders and 3rd parties to “Speak Up” about compliance issues using any means available, including line management, the Compliance function, Legal function, the human resources function, the Puma “speak up” line, and any other means.

    Investigation management.

    • To supervise internal inquiries and investigations dealing with compliance and ethics related matters;
    • Lead or assist in investigations of compliance related issues in region or other Puma Energy locations, as may be required.

    Trading Compliance.

    • Provide expertise to Puma Energy globally on Trading Compliance matters, including market regulations, reporting requirements and trade sanctions.

    External engagement.

    • Keep abreast of all relevant laws affecting Puma Energy’s activities and the Code of Conduct and ensure that all employees are aware of such laws;
    • Communicate updates to laws and news that would affect the areas of anti-corruption, export, import, and other areas as needed;
    • Understand and follow internal and external reporting requirements;
    • Liaise with external counterparts on Compliance- related matters (i.e. Banks, External Auditors and public regulators).
    • Report to the Global Head of Compliance and Ethics on all Compliance issues, whether they arise from new businesses, new regulations, or queries from employees.
    • Support on global projects, as may be required.
    • Model compliance behavior within his / her area of responsibility.


    Mandatory Education

    • Bachelor degree in Law or Finance.
    • Compliance qualification is a plus.


    Experience

    • 7+ years of work experience in either Compliance, Law or in a Finance auditing capacity.
    • International experience

    Knowledge

    • Knowledge and experience of Compliance in the energy sector very desirable;
    • Knowledge and experience of Trading Compliance very desirable;
    • Knowledge of the region and its challenges.

    • Ability to understand and communicate the business as well as the legal case for compliance within Puma;

    Regional Operations Manager

    o implement and enforce Puma practices and policies regarding HSE, Midstream operations, in particular stock management; quality control; asset reliability, transportation ,and cost control
    To provide support and guidance to the countries on troubleshooting activities; incident investigation; supply-chain optimization; transportation solutions; HSE and operational excellence audits; training and budgeting
    Be part of new project scoping, review and commissioning
    Oversees Puma Energy’s operations in its region to assure safe and reliable operations by visiting the facilities regularly, in order to have direct contact with personnel and assure that all company standards, polices, operational procedures and safe operational practices are in place.

    Consolidates The Regional Information And Reporting, Like

    • HSE Kpi’s, (i.e. Loss time accidents, Incidents reporting, Road Traffic Accidents)
    • Oil Gain and Losses
    • Opex
    • Capex
    • Analyzes the region’s monthly operational results, and advice management on improvement actions and options to solve deviations
    • Oversees SAPS in all sites in the region, auditing the progress of each site on its implementation
    • Facilitates and enforces the use of Safeguard for incident reporting and investigation; Risk analysis and operational reporting
    • Implements the Operational Excellence Program in the region, planning and executing the required audits
    • Participates in the scope definition of new facilities in conjunction with Construction team.
    • Follows up project execution and makes sure that the project is staffed appropriately, and that the hand over and commissioning are executed according with Puma practices
    • Liaise with Puma Energy Supply team to optimize the supply-chain process to each site; supporting the country sales strategies and goals
    • Manages terminal organic capex requirement in conjunction with each country in its region, responsible for the assessment and approval of those requirements
    • Supports the countries in troubleshooting activities; incident investigation and improvement initiatives related to supply-chain optimization; transportation solutions; training and budgeting


    Experience

    • Mechanical, Chemical or Industrial Engineering undergraduate university degree.
    • Post graduate degree in strategic, operational management or business administration is preferred.
    • 15-20 years of experience related to similar operations, including up to 10-15 years in a leadership role managing or supervising personal.
    • Experience in refinery operation.
    • Experience in dealing with HSE international standards, codes and regulations

    Skills

    • Fluent English, preferably multilingual, such languages as French and Portuguese will be an added benefit

    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, excellent in Power Point and Excel.
