Purpose
- To effectively and efficiently process and adjudicate Funeral Fund Claims, within the scope of the Funeral Fund policy rules and prevailing legislation. Also, to enhance and improve customer experience through effective assessment of claims and meeting the requirements and expectations of the role set out below.

Qualifications and Experience required
- Grade 12
- A National Diploma or Degree (minimum NQF level 5)

Key Areas of responsibility
- Effectively and efficiently perform the function of a Funeral Claims Assessor:
- Assess all funeral claims for validity and process for approval
- Communicate outstanding requirements to brokers/clients on pending claims, according to the follow up process and procedures
- Adhere to a 24-hour turnaround time for all funeral claims
- Finalise each claim on system e.g. Correct claim status should reflect (Paid/Declined/Pending/Closed/Unclaimed)
- Draft and forward payment and repudiation letters for all funeral claims on the same day in which the claim was finalised
- Update notes with comments regarding the progress of the claim
- Ensure that the assessment synopsis is correctly executed under notes on the system and that the assessing decision is done in the correct format as set out in the process and procedures documents
- Assist with walk in clients when required
- Deal with complaints received on claims from clients/brokers
- Follow all referral criteria e.g. Forensics
- Ensure all scanned documents have been indexed correctly
- Management of notifications
- Follow up on notifications where full claims have not yet been received
- Management of the timeous finalization of claims
- Adherence to company standard operating procedures
- Ensure that the highest quality is maintained, and that the communication sent to clients/brokers is double checked for validity and accuracy
- Deal with claims assessing escalations
- Utilise validation tools as set out in the claims process e.g. XDS, VOPD etc.

- The Learning Design and Development Specialist will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining functional e-learning programmes and assessments for all Business Units. You will also be responsible for the end-to-end management and involvement in projects by ensuring that all project deliverables are met in line with L&D processes.

- Design learning material by applying innovative techniques and best practices for effective delivery of content

Development of learning material (products, systems, soft skills, compliance and technical):
- Develop e- Learning material to meet the defined and intended outcome of the training and suggest further action (i.e. observations)

- Develop and maintain functional and technical learning programme content and assessments online

Design and development of formative and summative assessments and pre-assessments:

- Advise leadership on development issues based on the outcome of the assessments and provide reports to business on development gaps and completion rates
- Ensure that assessments meet the agreed quality standards
Project Management:
- Initiate requested project by arranging and conducting kick-off meetings with relevant stakeholders
- Conduct needs assessments on training needs as required/identified by business by asking relevant questions, why, how, what etc.)
- Consult with business areas to agree on reasonable and achievable deadlines
- Facilitate joint analysis and design sessions, conduct business interviews and other information gathering techniques in order to determine learning material requirements
- Develop and present a learning proposal and plan based on the needs assessment and make sound recommendations/provide effective and quality solutions to meet the identified need
- Implement training and development plans
- Plan and implement learning programmes
- Coordinate resources associated with the design, development, testing and implementation phases of course content to ensure quality deliverables
- Ensure that all proposals, training material, project milestones are signed off by the Learning and Development Manager
- Monitor achievement of project deliverables on a weekly basis and report on project status to the Learning and Development Manager
- Escalate any unresolvable queries/issues/challenges to the Learning and Development Manager once all attempts have been made to resolve the issues/contact the stakeholder
- Arrange and conduct a close-out session (Post Implementation Review) with project stakeholders to assess the effectiveness of the programme, 3 months after roll-out
Monthly reporting to L&D Manager and Exco, weekly one on one reports to manager (template) to manage projects:
- Compile monthly reports for submission to the Learning and Development Manager on the overall status of the project and its deliverables
- Attend and participate in team meetings and ad hoc meetings
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TABLE?
- NQF Level 7: degree in Information Technology/ Human Resources Development or Industrial/Organisational Psychology
- ODETDP is a must specifically with design and development modules
- 3 - 5 years in Learning and Development
- 5 - 7 years’ experience in design (story boarding) and development of e-Learning course material
- Multi-media experience – videos, graphic designing
- Corporate experience (adult education)
