    Chief Security Officer

    • The Chief Security Officer will be responsible for the physical security functions of the Somerset West Site. Chief Security Officer is also appointed in terms of the National Key Points Act as the Chief Security Officer and is responsible for supervision of security personnel working shifts, guarding and patrolling of areas according to the Security rules and regulations, reporting and investigating security related incidents, coordinating emergencies and ensure proper alarm reaction procedures.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Supervision & Control: Supervision of personnel on shifts, access and egress control, guarding and patrolling of the site.
    • Control over the Equipment and Resources: Effective supervision and Control over security Equipment and Resources.
    • Incident Reporting and Investigation: Investigate and reporting on incidents to RDM & NKP.
    • Key Control: Control over RDM keys for Security and emergency purposes.
    • Security Vehicles: Control over vehicles i.e. inspections and checklists.
    • Documentation and Document Control: Inspection of all security documentation and registers for completeness and correctness.
    • Access control: Checking of employee’s and visitor’s ID, searching of employees, visitors and vehicles, escort and checking of documents for deliveries and trucks leaving the site.
    • Competence & training- compliance to NKP/Legal/PSIRA requirements.
    • Communications: Provide information, documentation and information to relevant stakeholders.
    • Emergency Co-ordination: Effective emergency response during incidents.

    WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

    • Diploma in Security Management (NQF 6) or relevant equivalent experience accredited by SITA.
    • Valid Grade A Security Training (PSIRA registered).
    • NKP Certificate.
    • At least 5-7 years working experience in security field, of which 2-3 years must be at a supervisory level.
    • At least 2-3 Years’ experience performing security functions at a registered NKP Site.
    • Firearm competency is essential (Handgun, Shotgun, Rifle).
    • Knowledge and experience in applying security related legislations.
    • Ability to exercise a degree of judgment and ability to act quickly in an emergency.
    • Demonstrate ability to manage performance of security contractor/service provider.
    • Good problem solving, persuasiveness and client relationship skills.
    • Good interpersonal, facilitation and conflict management skills.
    • Good communication, planning and organizing skills.
    • Code B driver’s license is essential.
    • Basic computer literacy.
    • Willingness to work shifts and overtime, as and when required.

    Senior Project Manager

    • The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for end-to-end project delivery across a diverse portfolio of Capital Projects, ranging from urgent small-scale projects to multi-year, production and manufacturing-related, and multidisciplinary programs. You will work across all phases of the project lifecycle – feasibility, planning, initiating, execution and close-out, as well as coordinating, managing and controlling efforts across engineering, operations, quality, supply chain, and commercial functions.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Project Definition & Initiation: Define project objectives, deliverables, and scope in alignment with strategic requirements.
    • Planning & Control: Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations. Ensure alignment with key milestones and program priorities.

    WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

    • BEng / BTech Engineering or equivalent qualification.
    • At least 5 years’ experience in a project management role, preferably in a production or engineering environment.
    • Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary projects.
    • Formal project management training (e.g., PMP®, PRINCE2®, IPMA) preferred.
    • Strong planning, financial analysis, and risk management skills.
    • Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Excel, SAP, etc.); is advantageous.
    • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage across technical and non-technical audiences.

    Executive Manager: Process Engineering

    • Plans and controls technical resources in support of process and product improvement, to ensure cost reduction.
    • Implements technically innovative strategies and investigation techniques to support manufacturing operations in an efficient and effective manner.
    • Design and establish new processes which translates user requirements into system / sub-system functions within the company’s business processes.
    • Leads and participates in the following

    • Tracks progress to cost containment initiatives and manages and reports regularly.

    Compliance to Legislation and Business Systems

    • Ensure designs, projects, modifications and installations adhere to appropriate regulations within OHS Act and Explosive Act.

    WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

    • B-Tech / B-Eng. / B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering.
    • At least 7 Years’ experience in a manufacturing environment of which 3  years should have been in  a leadership role
    • Project Management qualification will be a distinct advantage
    • Process Safety Management qualification and experience will be a distinct advantage
    • Broad experience in a development and manufacturing environment (Explosive / Engineering / Technical).
    • In depth knowledge of SHE/Quality Systems, other computerized project management tools and process improvements techniques.

    Senior Chemical Engineer

    • Develop propellant, explosive and pyrotechnic energetic materials and peripheral technologies for munition sub-systems within quality, schedule and cost constraints, and according to the Military Acquisition Process.
    • Direct and control activities between the pilot/production plants, laboratories and test facilities.
    • Compile (design) the Data Packs (for Qualification and Series Production) for propellant, explosive and pyrotechnic energetic materials and sub-systems.
    • Provide input to future technology demands and assist in establishment of capability.
    • Write technical reports and make presentations to Management and/or Clients.
    • Provide a technical support service to the Manufacturing Department during series production. This includes: design of formulations before start of series production, manage document changes and non-conformances, solve technical problems by leading and conducting investigations, and industrialize new materials and/or processes.

    • Participate in design reviews and technical project meetings to ensure low risk designs and achievement of cost objectives and milestones.
    • Direct development/technology activities via well formulated technical inputs to the Manufacturing Department in accordance with the Explosives Regulations and the OHS Act to contribute to the health and safety of staff.
    • Represent RDM on national and international forums.
    • Adheres and implements Rheinmetall Denel Munitions Policies and Procedures and ensures compliance to ISO Standards with respect to SHE/Quality/Environmental/Energy.

    WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

    • Eng (Process/Chemical Engineering) or BEng Chemical Engineering.
    • At least 5 years’ work experience.
    • Experience in the field of propellant, explosive and pyrotechnic energetic materials and a trained technical specialist in at least one discipline of a niche defense-related scientific/engineering technology field would be advantageous.
    • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team consisting of scientists, engineers, and technicians.
    • Experience in Product Development and the Military Acquisition process would be advantageous.
    • Experience in Project Management would be advantageous.

    Manager Quality: NDT

    • The Quality Manager NDT will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance and control systems and processes to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements. This role focuses on process improvement, defect prevention, and continuous quality enhancement throughout the production cycle. This role has managing various areas including packaging, All NDT methods and mainly MPI Testing, Ultrasonic testing, systems support and COCs, traceability systems, packaging and metrology.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Management of the automated and manual quality systems.
    • Monitoring of internal and external testing, reporting and optimizing processes for improved efficiency.
    • Monitoring of the certificate of conformance, reporting and optimizing.
    • Evaluate and interpret test results as part of a technical team.
    • Oversee the automation of the statistical quality control through the application of statistical methods.
    • Design and implement the automation of internal tests, capability studies and reject notes system.
    • Supplier verification of manufacturing activities.
    • Internal audits and management of the audits thereof.
    • Internal process qualifications.
    • Management of all in NDT process and final products and packaging product quality together with the relevant teams of these areas.
    • Managing of packaging and systems thereof
    • Management and supervision of staff
    • Ability and willingness to support Boksburg operations after hours if required
    • Manage and co-ordinate metrology team and ensure full plant support and planning.
    • Planning, management and co-ordination of NDT Testing, metrology, packaging and COCs.

    WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

    • BSc/ BEng/BTech Engineering qualification in in Mechanical/Industrial/Mechatronic/Informatics or equivalent NQF Level 7 qualification.
    • Either MPI Level 2 or UT Level 2 or NDT diploma would be advantageous.
    • At least 5 years’ experience in the Manufacturing environment of which 3 years should have been in a supervisory level or have reportees.
    • Good problem-solving skills, customer liaison skills and interpersonal skills are essential.
    • A logical, flexible, self-motivated, reliable, well-spoken individual with thoroughness and tenacity.
    • Knowledge and ability to apply the MS Office Software, especially Word & Excel packages are essential.
    • Mechanical inspection experience would be advantageous.
    • Ability to work independently without supervision and work shifts and weekends.
    • Supervisory experience and managing off shift.

    Analytical Chemist

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Routine and non – routine analysis on all products and raw materials
    • Work shifts to support continuous production if required
    • Must be able to work overtime on short notice
    • Gravimetric and volumetric analysis

    • Experience working in explosive environment will be advantageous

    • Good interpersonal skills and coordinating capability
