    Regional People Director

    The Regional People Director will lead the regional People Team which includes (Payroll, People Business Partnering, Talent Acquisition, L&D, Transformation and People Services) to ensure the People plan delivers cost-effective solutions which bring strategic value to overall business performance. The People Director also works in collaboration with Global Centres of Excellence, Corporate Functions as well as Global People Leadership Teams to influence the design of People strategy and policy frameworks and facilitates the implementation of Group-wide change programs across the Region. This role will form a critical role within the Regional Leadership Team and partners closely with the Executive Vice-President on Key Leadership priorities.

    Key Responsibilities Key Accountabilities And Decision Ownership

    • Partners with senior regional business leaders to provide strategic HR direction in the context of the overall business vision and strategy to achieve business results.
    • Provides leadership to the Regional People Team: drives a high performance and engaged culture, ensures robust development and succession plans are in place.
    • Translates the Global People Strategy into a People plan for the Region, owning the plan and ensuring change initiatives and solutions drive efficiency and optimal colleague performance and engagement.
    • Facilitates and maintains oversight of organisation design, culture and change management initiatives within the Region, coaching and driving a culture of empowerment and accountability from senior business leaders on effective implementation and strategies for change.
    • Critically evaluates the benefits of these interventions, linking outputs to commercial value and proactively defining ongoing People requirements to meet business needs.
    • Develops strategic initiatives that mitigate people-related risks to ensure retention of key employees, facilitating the development of leadership succession plans and managing capability build within the Senior Leadership team.
    • Monitors service delivery and collaborates with People Services Hub Managers to ensure alignment of the hub to Regional people plans and effective demand management between the Country People Business Partners and People Services.
    • Accountable for the design and delivery of a comprehensive resource plan for the Region, working in conjunction with the Talent and Resourcing CoE to provide support to the business.
    • Supports with the recruitment and development of senior leadership roles.
    • Accountable for headcount management in the Region, working with Finance and Country and Function People BPs to align on all headcount decisions.
    • Maintains a deep level of understanding of available business data and uses this insight to deliver impact and influence on key business decisions, underpinned by commercial acumen and external market insight.
    • Cultivates a strong external market network and uses this expertise to deliver up to date knowledge and insight, whilst driving ongoing challenge to business initiatives and shaping HR strategy based on key market trends.
    • Ultimately accountable for ensuring that the People policy, procedures and practices fully comply with legal and regulatory requirements and codes of practice / conduct in the Region.
    • Responsible for managing People Risk in the region

    Skills, Know-how And Experience

    • Demonstrated ability to build strategic relationships with individual stakeholders and groups at senior level and become a trusted and credible working partner, coaching and influencing business leaders.
    • Experience as a change leader with the ability to identify areas that would benefit from change and then drive this through to completion.
    • Strong background in either a generalist or consulting role with substantial knowledge and experience in HR covering a breadth of activities and best in class HR practices and policies.
    • Demonstrable maturity and professionalism with a proven ability to drive an HR strategy, navigating across functional disciplines and operating in a matrix business environment.
    • An experienced people manager, able to lead and motivate large teams.
    • Experience in driving and enabling change in an international matrixed environment.

    Technical / Professional Qualifications

    • HR / Industrial Psychology Degree or equivalent HR Qualification /Master Degree
    • Functional qualification / membership of associated professional body (e.g. CIPD or equivalent)

    Public Relations Manager Africa & Middle East

    The Public Relations Manager will drive and manage all public relations and media activity for the Africa Middle East region (AME) while working closely with the Communications Director to define and deliver on the overarching regional strategy.

    This role is responsible for creating our Segment PR strategy with the responsibility for developing and writing a wide range of communications in support of the Sage public relations strategy, including press releases, articles, speeches, blogs and other related documents. They will develop and maintain lines of communication with media contacts and other external audience groups while leading projects with PR agencies that generate positive media coverage to build Sage’s brand awareness and reputation in the technology and business markets, promoting our strategy, products and services, and establishing thought leadership throughout target industries.
    This person will work closely with the extended Marketing organisation.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Setting PR strategy at business unit/segment level, feeding into overall AME marketing and communications objectives, to include development of thought leadership campaigns and topics.
    • Close collaboration and planning with the regional business and marketing teams to ensure an integrated Public Relations and Marketing plan to support the business to reach its objectives.
    • External communications content development including press releases, messaging, interview/event talking points, FAQs, etc.
    • Management of budget and resources for PR activities, campaigns, and programs.
    • External media and/or analyst relations – proactive and reactive program, thought leadership, traditional media, analyst, blogger and influencer outreach.
    • Drive clear integration of communication strategy with Social and Content Marketing.
    • Management and co-ordination of external resources, such as PR agency, and/or freelancers supporting business unit/segment strategy execution, driving achievement of KPIs for all Public Relations activities.
    • Build, own and extend relationships with priority business, technology media and influencers.
    • Executive/Spokesperson coaching, message development, management of appointments virtually and in person.
    • Identify and work with local spokespeople to build their public profile and position them in target media.
    • Produce regional content to drive organic Public Relations success – press releases, thought leadership articles, advisories, news commentary, etc.
    • Monitor relevant topics and discussions in target media to identify opportunities for Sage to provide relevant commentary.
    • Manage product communication.
    • Coordination with media and thought leaders at Sage Events.
    • Support the Sage Foundation and the roll-out of Sage Group campaigns in South Africa.
