    Artisan Bridge Learner: Millwright

    • As an Artisan Bridge Learner, you invest your time, energy, and work into your product training, and on the job experience in mining machines rebuild and maintenance. As a qualified artisan, you will be given training on Sandvik Products and experience for 12 Months that will enable you to be competitive in the mining industry.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Observe the conditions of the relevant employment agreement or award.
    • Attend and perform work as directed.
    • Behave in a courteous and professional manner.
    • Obey all lawful instructions.
    • Work toward achieving the competencies of the training plan.
    • Undertake training and assessment as required under the training plan.
    • Keep the training record and produce this when required.

    Profile Required

    • Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics and Science or equivalent qualification.
    • Minimum N2 Engineering Studies is compulsory.

    Qualified Millwright

    TSSR - P1

    The Role:

    • To apply and use knowledge of sales process and tools to support front line sales representatives in promoting and selling the organization's products and services within assigned geographic area, product range or list of customer accounts to achieve significant sales targets.

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Identifies prospects and assists with the preparation of presentations.
    • Develops sales skills and knowledge of the products, services, and customers by working closely with a more experienced sales representative to promote products, close orders and resolve problems.
    • Maintain and update the Core database with details of customer activities.
    • Develop understanding of machining practices and processes utilizing modern tooling systems and how ’s product portfolio meets the market needs.
    • Establish annual, quarterly, monthly, or weekly sales plans and prioritize and schedule own activities so these targets are met.

    • Gather and compile data, tool testing comparisons, competitive information, and cost comparisons.

    Your Profile:

    • Grade 12 / Equivalent qualification
    • Relevant post-Matric qualification will be advantageous
    • Experience in a mining environment with specific exposure to rock tools
    • At least 2 years’ experience in various mining applications particularly underground
    • Experience in Trackless Machinery environment
    • At least 5 years’ experience in Sales and Marketing
    • English proficiency

    Product Specialist - Screening Media

    Purpose of the role:

    • Support Sales and Field Service in Africa on screening media technical matters.
    • Train Sales Engineers and Field Service Technicians on Screening Media and Wear Protection products throughout Africa.

    The job responsibilities:

    • Manage all screening media selections/changes, liaise with Product Management, Sales, Engineering and the customer to ensure best outcome.
    • Assist Aftermarket Sales Engineers and Field Service Technicians to collect information to populate the SM & WP installed base.
    • Gather intel on market technical needs and trends.
    • Assist Sales and Service Engineers to protect SM business during and soon after commissioning.
    • Continuously evaluate technical training needs of Aftermarket Sales Engineers and Field Service Technicians
    • Prepare training material required to deliver training.
    • Organize training sessions at the Sandvik RSA training centres and at customer sites.

    Qualifications & Experience Requirements

    • Engineering or equivalent experienced based qualification
    • Minimum of 2 years in screening media technical support role.

    Storeman - W1

    Job Description 

    • Administers and operates the organization's warehouse, including processing, packaging and storage of supplies, materials and equipment.

    Key Performance Areas

    • Accounts for all materials and supplies in the stores facilities; audits goods received into warehouse.
    • Oversees receipt, storage and shipment of materials, and related reporting in accordance with established procedures.
    • Prepares and coordinates schedules for shipping and receiving materials to control the flow of goods and regulate warehouse space.
    • Ensures the effectiveness of operating procedures, space utilization, and maintenance and protection of facilities and equipment.

    Profile Required

    • Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification.

    Inventory Planner - P2

    The role

    • The purpose of this role is to control and optimise inventory and forecast future customer demand to ensure that Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions can meet sales and production targets while minimizing costs and inefficiencies.

    Main Responsibilities

    • Ensure the timely collection of forecast data from areas of responsibility.
    • Perform gap/trend analysis & recommend process improvements.
    • Ensure continuous communication and collaboration of forecasting and inventory management data with the regions and key stakeholders.
    • Provide feedback and make recommendations to regions to ensure orders are created according to the forecast.
    • Provide support to internal departments to improve inventory management.
    • Maintain inventory parameters in collaboration with Regional Inventory Manager for all designated stockrooms.
    • Perform replenishment planning for designated stockrooms.
    • Release orders according to system requisitions and customer orders.
    • Manage expediting requests from regions.
    • Perform detailed inventory analysis to identify opportunities and optimize inventory levels.
    • Work with all relevant stakeholders to establish both short- and long-term inventory strategies.
    • Provide back up support for all team members when required.
    • Responsible for stock, goods in transit, production stock and obsolescence reserve in the stockrooms of responsibility.
    • Responsible for the strategic stock in the stockrooms of responsibility.
    • Ensures coordination with relevant stakeholders regarding any improvement activities related with inventory control.
    • Responsible for analysis and to drive stock optimization initiatives (i.e.: returns process) on regular bases.
    • Participate and support regional/global initiatives or projects as needed.

    Your profile

    Product Specialist - S4 - (Burgersfort)

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and organize product training for sales and service personnel for the respective products - Not applicable to role.
    • Provide technical training to the service network and customer base on proper operation, maintenance and troubleshooting practices
    • Provide technical support to end users, operators, and service personnel
    • Provide feedback to factories to enable improvements to the equipment or its operation
    • Provide assistance in compiling accurate data to process warranty claims and engineering machine improvements
    • Review spare parts recommendations and develops accuracy of Machine Life Operating Costs (MLOC) - Not applicable to role.
    • Investigate warranty claims proactively and reactively to enhance customer satisfaction and provide feedback to the respective factories

    Profile Required:

    • Mechanical or electrical trade qualification - Can we add mechatronics / millwright qualifications as a requirement.
    • Machine range experience and advance computer literacy

    • Relevant mechanized mining experience (5 years)
    • Surface mining environment - Mining environment will be underground focused.
    • Maintenance of earthmoving equipment in Surface Mining/ experience in Surface drills - Experience in underground drill rigs is a requirement. Surface drills is not applicable.
    • Mechanical, electrical or electronic equipment maintenance competence in at least 4 of the following areas:
    • Basic 5 module LHD’s and CM - Necessary as a basic, however drill rigs should be included as this will be the focus area.
    • Basic electronic systems
    • Basic LV electric systems
    • Mechanical equipment
    • Hydraulic systems
    • Video display systems
    • Advanced electrical systems (low current relays, electronic timers, electrical/electronic overloads and protection devices, solenoids, actuators, proximity devices etc.)
    • Experience in CANbus systems will be an advantage
    • Basic knowledge of software - advanced knowledge of software on i-series TMM required.
    • Valid driver’s license
    • Full physical & medical certificate to work in mining environment
