    Specialist Socio Economic Development, D1, KHT111/23GS

    The role:

    The role is responsible for the retention of the mine Social License to operate through the alignment of Social Performance strategy objectives. The strategy includes effective implementation of the Social Performance standards and governance, identification and implementation of sustainable Socio-Economic Development (SED) initiatives and maintaining good stakeholder relations.

    Social Performance: Governance and Standards

    • Implement, monitor and communicate the Seriti Social
    • Identify, communicate and monitor the mine social risks, Voluntary Principles and Human Rights
    • Plan and implement Socio Economic Assessment (SEAT)
    • Communicate and lead the development of the Mine Social Performance strategy in line with the Life of Mine
    • Develop, communicate, monitor and review the Social Management Plan (SMP) on an annual basis
    • Establish and communicate the mine social Commitment register
    • Ensure the communities neighbouring the mine are incorporated into the Emergency Preparedness Plan
    • Lead the development and implementation on the mine social closure strategy
    • Implement Social Incident management procedure

    Socio-Economic Benefit Delivery

    • Oversee the Social and Labour Plan for the Operation
    • Responsible for the drafting, implementing and monitoring of the SLP and reporting to the DMRE
    • Identify, implement and monitor LED projects in line with BU focus areas and government development
    • Report on implementation and sustainability of projects at Local Economic Development Forums
    • Administer CSI funding: Communicate the CSI policy and guidelines, monitor and report on CSI spend

    Stakeholder Relations

    • Develop and implement Stakeholder Engagement Plans in accordance with SEAT
    • Build and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships that builds support for the Operation
    • Establish Community Consultative Forums where they do not exist and ensure the effectiveness of existing forums, represent Seriti Coal at community and Municipal Forums and other events

    You will need:

    • Diploma/Degree in Social Sciences or related studies or National Diploma in development studies
    • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in Community Development or a similar role in a socio/economic development field
    • Extensive experience in socio-economic development and stakeholder engagement
    • Experience in Project Management
    • Solid knowledge of relevant legislation, including MPRDA, MHSA, BBBEE Act and NEMA and BBBEE Code of Good Practices and Mining Charter
    • Knowledge of corporate governance, governmental protocols
    • Track record of community projects
    • Communication skills (written and verbal)
    • Networking and influencing skills
    • Computer literate (MS Office, Enablon etc)
    • Valid driver’s license
    • In possession or able to obtain a valid Certificate of Fitness

    Advantageous:

    • Post-graduate advantageous
    • Experience in mining industry
    • Project Management qualification
    • Management Development Program or equivalent
    • Knowledge of Seriti Coal policies, procedures, standards and systems and in-depth knowledge of policies relating to Community Development

    HR Coordinator, D1, KRL094/23GS

    The role:

    The role is responsible for assisting management in supporting employees through every phase of their service within the company. The role is also responsible for assisting with Employee Relations and recruitment. The incumbent may be required to be involved in ad hoc projects.

    • Provide advice, guidance and support to employees and line managers on a broad range of people related matters
    • Manage and facilitate the handling of all internal employee discipline by ensuring that all grievances and disciplinary actions are acted upon according to policies, procedures and standards
    • Statistical and Governance Reporting including Transformation reporting and Employee Relations reporting
    • Provide effective staff movement & recruitment services to line management through conducting recruitment activities aligned to the recruitment process: Liaising with line mangers and recruitment team.

    You will need:

    • Relevant Post Matric Diploma / Degree / National Diploma in Human Resources or occupationally directed ETD Practice in a similar field
    • 3 - 5 years’ experience in human resources, of which at least 2-3 years should be at a management level (either in managing a HR sub-function or major section) with a Degree or Diploma or minimum 10 years’ experience with proven track record of good performance
    • Experience in talent management and resourcing
    • Experience in project managing an HR related project that included organisational transformation or change management
    • Experience in dealing with trade unions
    • Solid knowledge of mining and other relevant legislation incl: Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act; Mine Health and Safety Act; BBBEE Act, 2003; Minerals Codes of Good Practices; Mining Charter; Labour Relations Act, 1995; Basic Conditions of Employment Act, 1997; Employment Equity Act, 1998; Skills Development (and Levies) Act, 1998; Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993Solid knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and regulations including the Labour Relations Act (LRA), Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA), Employment Equity Act (EEA) and Skills Development and Levies Act (SDA, SDLA)
    • Strong customer service orientation
    • Knowledge of HR theories and principles, and benchmarks
    • Sound knowledge of HR policies and procedures and legislative requirements in terms of compliance
    • Knowledge of talent management and resourcing as well as HR reporting
    • Stakeholder management skills
    • Conflict management skills
    • Project management skills
    • Report writing skills
    • Computer literacy: MS Office and SAP/SAGE
    • Valid driver’s license
    • In possession or able to obtain a valid Certificate of Fitness
