    Hotel General Worker Attendant

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 (Matric)
    • 1-2 years’ practical work experience in General worker tourism/ hospitality environment.
    • Communication skills both written and verbal.
    • Basic understanding of customer service principles to interact politely and professionally with guest.
    • Knowledge of first aid and safe working procedures.
    • Hygiene skills and Room attendant will be added advantage.
    • Knowledge of SANParks Act as well as safety regulation and code of conduct.
    • Working well in a team environment.
    • Understanding of accepted tourism standards

    Responsibilities

    • Perform routine and deep cleaning of public areas such as reception area, lobbies, corridors, elevator, lounges, restrooms, conference facilities and other guest-accessible spaces as per workflow chart and schedule.
    • Provide clear handover to colleagues on the next shift.
    • Report technical and maintenance problems and perform minor maintenance tasks.
    • Hand over any lost property to housekeeping management.
    • Sign off daily work schedule.
    • Use equipment as per manufacture’s specifications.
    • Use chemicals according to set standards.
    • Control inventory items.
    • Assist with the collection of supplies when necessary.
    • Assist with room attendant work I hotel and chalets.
    • Ensure sufficient supply of stock to guest unit.
    • Ad hoc duties as instructed by supervisor

    Environmental Compliance Officer: Regional Integration & Planning Department

    Requirements

    • Degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Sustainable Development or Planning (NQF Level 7).
    • A Post Graduate degree will be an added advantage (NQF Level 8).
    • Registration as an Environmental Assessment Practitioner with the Environmental Assessment Practitioners Association of South Africa (EAPASA).
    • Minimum four (4) years’ experience in the Environmental Management Field, with specific experience in environmental impact assessments and reporting, environmental compliance/control auditing, EIAs linked to development and water & waste management. Working within a Protected Area environment will be an added advantage.
    • Experience with municipal planning processes will be an added advantage.
    • Valid Code 08 (B) driver’s license.

     RECOMMENDED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Broad knowledge of impacts associated with a range of development types in different sectors.
    • Experience with developing and monitoring against an Environmental Management Systems will be an added advantage.

    KEY ATTRIBUTES:

    • A genuine interest in and understanding of environmental issues, relevant legislation, and international best practice within a Protected Area.
    • Effective Team Player and Self-Management.
    • Proven experience with compliance; monitoring, auditing, and reporting, including conducting EIAs.

    • Good team-working; networking and influencing skills.

    Responsibilities

    • Assess and evaluate proposed developments, EIA applications and activities within the buffer areas of Kruger National Park.
    • Conduct and report on compliance monitoring with environmental legislation including NEMA, NEMBA, NEMPAA, NWA.
    • Assist with the implementation of the Environmental Management System for Kruger National Park.
    • Support Environmental Impact Assessment processes to ensure adherence to all environmental related legislation and standards.
    • Conduct environmental auditing of development and operational activities within areas that are part of the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Conservation Areas (GLTFCA) Cooperative Agreement.
    • Assessing strategic planning instruments such as municipal integrated development plans, spatial development frameworks.
    • Stakeholder management and advising and liaising with internal/external departments, partners, and regulatory bodies.
    • Assessing, analysing, collating, and communicating environmental performance data and reporting information to internal staff, clients and regulatory bodies.
    • Ensure that all Environmental reporting is aligned with standards, guidelines and schedules.
    • Investigate environmental incidents and EMS inefficiencies and make recommendations to the General Manager: Regional Integration and Planning.
    • Communicate awareness about environmental legislation requirements and procedures.
    • Support the development and review of management plans.
    • Assist with internal and external reporting requirements.
    • Assist with the implementation of the GLTFCA Cooperative Agreement.
    • Perform administration and finance management.

    Duty Manager

    Requirements

    • National Diploma in Hotel Management, Tourism or Hospitality Management.
    • Two (2) years’ operational experience in housekeeping or front office.
    • Two (2) years’ experience in a supervisory or management position of a rest camp, 3 -star lodge or hotel operation.
    • Computer literacy, MS Word, Excel and Power Point.
    • Code 8 valid driver’s licence (essential).
    • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety, Reservations & Front Office Systems .
    • A sound understanding of Eco-tourism, Sustainable Tourism, Customer Relations Management, Tourism & Service industry and Housekeeping.
    • Good knowledge and understanding of the Tourism Industry and related legislations.
    • The following soft skills are also highly important, namely, communication (verbal and written), customer service, financial management, conflict management, diversity management, leadership skills, project management and interpersonal skills.

    Responsibilities

    • Supervision of day-to-day activities in various tourism outlets
    • Sorting out of all operational problems/challenges in tourism outlets
    • Managing all relevant staff to ensure that the courteous and efficient welcoming and departure procedure for guests are carried out.
    • Effective customer service by anticipating, meeting and exceeding the guests’ expectations utilizing the CRM system.
    • Ensure that Tourism Property Management System and Front Offices processes align with operational and procedural policies.
    • Responsible for the Front Office and Access Control administration daily in accordance with laid down procedures. Including financial management, asset management and inventory control SOP’s
    • Monitoring income and expenditure and manage budget efficiently.
    • Ensuring effective maintenance of tourism infrastructure, gardens and grounds to the highest standards.
    • Ensure compliance and adherence to OHS standards and regulations. Ensure the security, health and safety of guests and staff.
    • Supervision and development of staff that includes the planning of work schedules, evaluation of work and determining of training requirements.
    • Assist with the development of new tourism products and the marketing of the park and its facilities.
    • To ensure that the vehicle under their control is managed according to policy, including log sheet and administration of this.
    • Be on-call outside normal working hours to take charge of any emerging crisis affecting visitors and staff.
    • Responsible for HR related matters including administration of attendance registers.
    • Compliance to all SANParks SCM financial SOP’s.
    • To act in the absence of a Hospitality Services Manager when delegated.
    • Ad-Hoc duties as per instruction of line manager.
