    Operator Roof Bolter - Wessels

    Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

    • Conduct the pre-shift checks prior to operating machine;Conduct the applicable Safe Work Instruction for normal routine tasks or Risk Assessment if non-routine tasks are required;Report all equipment defects or unsafe conditions to the control room and supervisor;Support an underground working place by means of anchors placed into drilled holes (Roof bolting);Achieve excavation stability in the presence of geological discontinuities and brows.

    ABOUT YOU:

    • You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
    • Must have minimum 1 years’ experience in mining production in an underground mining operation.

    Qualifications for this role are:

    • Grade 12 with mathematics for external candidates or Grade 10 for Internal candidates;
    • Equipment license on Roofbolter;
    • Competency B Certificate is advantageous;
    • Valid drivers license.

    Technician Ventilation - Wessels Mine

    ABOUT THE ROLE:

    • This role is a permanent full-time position.
    • As a Technician Ventilation, you will be responsible to direct workplace occupational hygiene and ventilation programmes, execute ventilation assessments, sampling & survey activities, workplace inspections & report on the effectiveness of operational control measures in line with all relevant statutory and company requirements.

    Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

    • Monitor, evaluate and report on ventilation, occupational hygiene and environmental conditions to make suitable recommendations;
    • Conduct risk assessments, participate in audits, interpret and act on ventilation and occupational hygiene related legislation;
    • Assist in the development of ventilation procedures and standards including short term ventilation planning (6-12 months) – Exposure to ventilation simulation models (VENTSIM/VUMA)
    • Timeous reporting/escalation of identified control deviations to relevant stakeholders and capturing of events into relevant event reporting systems;
    • Facilitate occupational hygiene exposure investigations and track corrective actions through to closure;
    • Advice on changes to plans and schedules to minimize the effect of unexpected or unsafe work practices;
    • Maintain ventilation strategies and systems;
    • Emergency escape route plan development and drafting;
    • Lamproom legal compliance;
    • Ventilation wall construction team inspection and quality control;
    • Assist with the management of technical resources and assets.

    ABOUT YOU:

    You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

    • Must have minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in Ventilation;
    • Computer skills (MS Office Suite/SAP) is essential;
    • In depth knowledge and understanding of relevant current Occupational Hygiene & Ventilation legislation and hazard identification is essential;
    • Experience in Underground Mining will be advantageous.

    Qualifications for this role are:

    • Grade 12/Matric with Mathematics and Science;
    • Certificate in Intermediate Mine Environmental Control.

    Safety Officer - Mamatwan Mine

    ABOUT THE ROLE:

    • This role is a permanent full-time position.  As a Safety Officer, you will be responsible for assisting line management in meeting safety, health and environmental standards and implementing safety initiatives in their respective work areas, by verifying compliance to HSE systems during inspections, audits, investigations and leaderships interactions and interventions, specifically in the projects and construction environment.

    Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

    • Conduct 30, 45- and 90-days legal inspections;
    • Conduct internal audits of the system, process;
    • Discuss, record and signoff off findings/deviations in the inspection logbook;
    • Follow up and close out all preventative and corrective actions;
    • Update inspection schedule;
    • Monitor compliance to required controls, COP, standards, procedures and applicable legislation;
    • Analyse trends and report to line Managers;
    • Facilitate event investigations and ensure quality outcomes (MTC’s, LTI’s and RWC’s)
    • Investigate and submission of Significant Events, incidents, damages, hazards and complaints;
    • Challenge line and contractors on identified gaps (e.g. reporting, FRC compliance, risks and hazards, etc.);
    • Assist in the analysis of Safety Statistics Identify specific learning’s relevant to the site and communicate as appropriate;
    • Carryout Safety campaigns.

    ABOUT YOU:

    You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

    • Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Mining Environment;
    • In depth knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act (Act 29 of 1996), Occupational Health and Safety Act 93 of 1993 and other related legislation ;
    • Incident Cause Analysis Method (ICAM) methodology;
    • Contractor management processes;
    • Computrer literacy in MS office;

    Qualifications for this role are:

    • Degree/BTECH/National Diploma in Safety Management;
    • SAMTRAC or COMSOC 1 & 2 certificates;
    • Blasting ticket or valid trade test will be advantegous;
    • Valid drivers license.

    Artisan Reduction Electrical - Richards Bay

    ABOUT THE ROLE:

    This role is a permanent full-time position.

    • As an Artisan Electrician Reduction, you will be responsible for  for the execution of maintenance activities during plant shut, equipment breakdown and special interventions.
    • The main task is to carry out maintenance activities safely, correctly the first time as well as testing and commissioning of work carried prior to handover to operations.

    Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

    • Ensure compliance to the SAP process for work execution and capture related transactional data into the SAP system;
    • Diagnose plant equipment issues timeously and sustainably; Execute work orders as per schedule and relevant work instructions associated with the work orders;
    • Provide input into root cause analysis and subsequent resolution of issues affecting equipment reliability;
    • Ensure adequate scoping of corrective work to facilitate the planning process;
    • Ensure returns of unused or repairable materials are processed accurately.

    ABOUT YOU:

    You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

    • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in maintenance as a qualified Electrician;
    • 2 years and more experience in heavy industrial or plant environment is essential
    • Experience in fault finding is essential;
    • Experience on Variable Speed drives is essential;
    • Good understanding of electrical drawings is essential.
    • ATF & CAFD feeder repairs within Reduction is advantageous

    Qualifications for this role are:

    • N3 Technical Certificate and a recognised Electrical trade test;
    • Valid Code B (08) Driver’s license is essential.
