    Specialist Systems - Johannesburg

    ABOUT THE ROLE:

    • This role is a permanent full-time position.
    • As a Payroll Specialist Systems, you will be responsible to support the GBS Payroll team as first point of contact and troubleshooting for any ERP and non-ERP issues.
    • You will enable GBS excellence through in-depth data analysis, cross functional collaboration and process improvement in the Payroll function. Identify and implement payroll automation opportunities to unlock value and efficiencies to ensure that GBS teams operate in a stable and optimised application environment.

    Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

    • Act as first line of contact and troubleshooting for any Payroll ERP or non-ERP issues.
    • Provide process/technical support to the GBS sub-functions – change coordinator and escalation point for ERP, VERSA (Case Management Tool) and other non-ERP applications.
    • Logging incidents on behalf of GBS functional teams.
    • Manage and coordinate Support Pack updates (Payroll).
    • Work closely with Functional Business Process Leads (BPL) and GBS Leads to manage ERP and non-ERP process and system changes.
    • Ongoing monitoring of Case Management Tool (Versa) setup, access management and template maintenance.
    • Lead system changes and coordinate user acceptance testing for GBS.

    ABOUT YOU:

    • You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
    • Must have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in a Payroll and / or Shared Services / Global Business Services Environment;
    • Experience in leading high volume transactional and professional shared services activities, preferably SAP based;
    • Working knowledge of process improvement processes and methodology;
    • Experience within relevant functions of a large Global organization;
    • Specialist knowledge in Global Business Services and / or Payroll Business processes.

    Qualifications for this role are:

    • Degree/BTECH/National Diploma in Payroll, Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a similar discipline.

    Superintendent Process Control & Improvement Casthouse & Treatment & Services - Richards Bay

    ABOUT THE ROLE:

    • This role is a permanent full-time position.
    • As a Superintendent PC&I Casthouse & Treatment & Services and ATW, you will lead the Process Control and Improvement team to undertake technical analysis of the Production Plants performance (Safety, Quality, Volume, Cost) and initiate improvement actions to deliver safe and predictable operations.

    Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

    • Embed the Safety Guarantee culture through visible felt leadership and coaching
    • Lead the ATW team to delivery on the Safety Guarantee journey
    • Provide strategic direction for the operation of the T&S and Casthouse Plants to ensure world-class environmental performance and alignment with the smelter’s overall sustainability goals
    • Champion product quality in the Casthouse, ensuring consistent throughput of ingots that meets customer specifications and metallurgical standards
    • Provide relevant and specialized technical support to peers and colleagues to ensure the achievement of organizational objectives
    • Lead and coordinate continuous improvement initiatives focused on low aluminium metal losses, energy efficiency, water consumption efficiency and product quality
    • Continuously review, innovate and benchmark developments in Treatment & Services technology as well as Casthouse technology ensuring stable, efficient, and safe operations
    • Implement robust plant performance review and root cause analysis systems, ensuring data-driven decisions
    • Oversee implementation of environmental and quality management systems.

    ABOUT YOU:

    You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

    • Must have a minimum experience of 5 years within the heavy industrial environment
    • Ability to analyse technical issues, develop solutions, and implement corrective actions
    • Process Control and Improvement experience in the T&S and/or Casthouse Department of an Aluminium Smelter
    • Previous experience in leading and managing a team would be an added advantage.

    Qualifications for this role are:

    • Degree/BTECH/National Diploma in Engineering
    • A Postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage.

    Electrician - Mamatwan Mine

    ABOUT THE ROLE:

    • This role is a permanent full-time position.
    • As an Electrician, you will be responsible for the timely installation, repair and maintenance of equipment to ensure that mining activities are executed in a safe manner and to operate equipment and test all working parts in functional area to ensure proper utilization.

    Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

    • Interprets and coordinates pre-work with regards to repairs, planned and predictive maintenance
    • Accesses any area safely to perform necessary maintenance on machines or equipment
    • Performs safety inspections of equipment and assesses risks on equipment;
    • Maintains a clean and safe worksite
    • Work independently and in a team as well as under pressure
    • Ensures the upkeep of maintenance tools and equipment
    • Coordinates activities associated with trouble-shooting and repairing maintenance equipment
    • Clear feedback to direct line Supervisor.

    ABOUT YOU:

    You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

    • Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in maintenance is essential
    • Maintenance and fault finding on Allen Bradley VSD’s and PLC’s as well as medium voltage switchgear will be advantageous.

    Qualifications for this role are:

    • Grade 12
    • N3 Technical Certificate
    • Electrician Trade
    • Valid drivers license.

    Risk Specialist - Richards Bay

    ABOUT THE ROLE:

    • This role is a permanent full-time position.
    • As a Risk Specialist, you will be responsible to provide robust Risk Management and Compliance support to the Hillside Aluminium Operations, that will facilitate the timely identification and management of material and non-material risks and to advice and execute tasks that facilitate standard application of the Risk Management methodology and development of an accurate Risk Profile.

    Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

    • Deliver specialist, independent and technically capable risk and compliance support, tools, coaching and training to process owners
    • Monitors adherence to risk management standards and risk management metrics
    • Prepare accurate and timely risk and compliance reporting, including emerging trends to key stakeholders (i.e. Operations, VPs and Operations Managers )
    • Supports implementation of improvement projects and initiatives related to Risk Management
    • Co-ordinate the maintenance of the Operations risk registers
    • Support the operations in identifying new risks or changes to existing risks
    • Reviews the Material Risk Profile and tolerability on a periodic basis
    • Prepares Risk Reporting and Analysis to relevant stakeholders
    • Drive emergency management processes and governance
    • Report, monitor and track internal audit action findings and verifications
    • Facilitate risk assessments and reviews for risks to ensure optimal control design and effectiveness
    • Facilitate risk assessments for strategies and delivery of operational and/or project objectives
    • Implementation of processes that review statutory and regulatory compliance as well as adherence to South32 minimum standards.

    ABOUT YOU:

    You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

    • Must have a minimum of 4 – 6 years relevant professional and industry experience 
    • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the Risk Management Process is very advantageous
    • Proficiency in the MS Office Suite is essential
    • Experience in Risk Management software will be advantageous.

    Qualifications for this role are:

    • Bachelor’s Degree / BTECH / National Diploma in Risk Management, Engineering or similar.
