    Professor / Associate Professor in Reinforced Concrete Structures (1x Post)

    • At the Professor/Associate Professor level, a Doctoral degree in Structural Engineering/Design with a focus on Reinforced Concrete Structures is essential.

    Senior Lecturer.2.01 - Qualitative Research Methodologies and Mixed Methods Specialist - Contract position (3-year contract)

    Department Description        

    • The Faculty of Commerce, Law, and Management (CLM) seeks to appoint a Qualitative Research Methodologies and Mixed Methods specialist at senior lecturer level within its Teaching and Learning Unit (TLU) on a three-year contract. 
    • The primary focus of the job will be to develop strategies for enabling postgraduate students in the faculty to design and conduct research. This is primarily a teaching role that will focus on postgraduate researcher education. 

    Successful candidates must have: 

    • exceptional, wide-ranging knowledge of qualitative research methodologies, 
    • a working knowledge of quantitative research methodologies, and
    • an excellent command of mixed methods research designs. The candidate would be expected to conceptualise, implement, and manage a range of faculty-wide initiatives/programmes to promote student success and throughput at postgraduate level.  Whomever comes into this role will be required to work with the Head: CLM TLU and other key stakeholders from across the faculty (e.g., Quantitative Research Methodologies and Statistics Specialist, CLM Head of Postgraduate Writing, Academic Director: Digital Learning, Assistant Dean: PG Affairs, research degree coordinators, and supervisors).

    Brief Description        
    Applicants are expected to have:

    • PhD,
    • exceptional qualitative methodologies knowledge and skills,
    • exceptional mixed methods research design knowledge and skills,
    • a working knowledge of quantitative research methodologies,
    • demonstrated experience of teaching qualitative research methodologies to postgraduate students with varying levels of aptitude (experience in CLM disciplines would be an advantage),
    • demonstrated experience of online and blended teaching (experience of working with Canvas would be an advantage),

    Brief Description        

    • The Department of Interdisciplinary Arts and Culture Studies in the School of Arts at the University of the Witwatersrand, in Johannesburg, South Africa, is recruiting a Senior Lecturer.
    • We invite applications from qualified candidates who share our lens of decoloniality and interdisciplinarity as the animating approaches across research and pedagogical interests.     Minimum requirements:

    Brief Description        
    Qualifications:

    • A medical qualification, registerable with the HPCSA,
    • The candidate must be a specialist in Cardiothoracic Surgery and a full-time employee within the Wits Teaching platform (Current employees and Joint staff).
    • At least 5 years' experience as a Cardiothoracic Surgeon,
    • At least 5 years’ experience at mid-management level,
