• To extract, manipulate and present data/statistics/information for analysis in a report format as required by the business
• To administer the data analysis process and at times perform daily, routine work
• To interface with all role-players, for example source systems and business to ensure successful roll-out of projects and changes
• To verify the completeness, accuracy, validity & timeliness of the data being analysed
• To conduct research and maintain industry best practice standards on the quality & delivery of Call Centre information and/or reports
• To author user requirement specifications for Reports (Call Centre, APP, TOBi etc.)
• To suggest and co-ordinate & implement automation of data extractions
• To do user acceptance testing and post-implementation testing for all new or enhanced, automated reports and data
• To suggest and apply benchmarking best practices and align between relevant business units. This refers to projects and product benchmarks and industry best practice (Global and National)
• To get feedback from users on the value add/usage of data and business analysis investigations.

Job Knowledge:

• Co-creating Advanced Analytics products that provide actionable business insight to Vodacom Enterprise CVM and its stakeholders.
• Developing predictive models with large and varied datasets, working with a community of colleagues across Advanced Analytics, technology, and data and customer functions.
• Uses a variety of datasets to test hypotheses, discover hidden relationships and provide actionable insights to Vodacom Enterprise CVM businesses.
• Designs, develops & tests analytic models to industrialise insight into operations to solve real business problems.
• Uses data visualisation to engage audience in a compelling way, enabling effective storytelling.
• Delivers key packages of work, on time and in a collaborative manner to meet the needs of business customers.
• Works in partnership with Technology and local BI and analytics teams to agree on pragmatic means of data provision to support use cases.
• Contributes to the development of self and others across the global analytics community, ensuring Advanced Analytics is always evolving and at the cutting edge.

Core competencies, knowledge and experience: 

• Professional and academic experience in Big Data analytics & deployment of models and algorithms to solve real-world problems (with deep statistical modelling expertise).
• Experience manipulating and analysing large and complex datasets.
• Experience in visualisation, creating graphical static and interactive displays of data that clearly communicate insight (preferred).
• Good interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
• Honour’s/Master’s Degree in quantitative fields like Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Social Sciences, Big Data, or related disciplines
• A minimum of 5 to 8 years’ experience in the following:
• Expertise in data manipulation: use of structured data tools (e.g., SQL), & unstructured data tools and platforms (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, NoSQL)
• Proficiency in at least one relevant programming language: Python, Scala, MapReduce, Mahout, Java, C++

The ideal candidate for this role will have the following qualification:
Honour’s/ Master’s Degree in quantitative fields like Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Social Sciences, Big Data, or related disciplines
