The Media Manager will work closely with media agencies, Brand Teams as well as other key stakeholders in business to develop and implement all targeted content for various media platforms and manage the necessary budget

Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Responsible to manage a large media budget – in excess of +/- R500m
• To work closely with media agencies, Brand Teams as well as other key stakeholders in business
• Understand the customer and is passionately involved with customer.
• Utilise deep customer knowledge and insights to determine customer needs to that will lead to great brand ideas.
• Partners with Brand team in development of Brand strategy and ensures that they develop clear Brand Plans that are aligned to business
• Understands competitors and their media strategies and does analysis on these quarterly
• Collaborate with Consumer Marketing and Brand in ensuring that brand and segment needs are met and recommends best way to go about it

The Ideal Candidate For This Role Will Have

• Relevant 3 year Degree or National Diploma in Marketing, Commercial, Media or related essential and
• A minimum of 8 – 10 years relevant experience in media management essential
• Understand media environment
• Understands the media channels and the different channel roles
• Understanding of Traditional as well as Digital media
• Understand both traditional and digital media
• Understands consumers from SA – from Lower LSM’s to Higher LSM’s

A key role within the M-Pesa Integration & Infrastructure Services team, owning the CPS product roadmap, backlog and lifecycle for one or more products along with the ASD value-streams. Working to a scaled agile framework (SAFe) model, performing all aspects of the Product Manager role in the context of a SAFe team. It will be necessary to negotiate priority, manage and agree demand into the practice for these products and manage the finance and delivery governance to develop, configure and launch the technology product/feature.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Owns the team backlog - maintaining and prioritising in line with Product Management direction and earliest delivery of value to our customers
• Takes content authority for the team backlog, ensures that quality of team’s documented user story and acceptance criteria follows agreed standards
• Represents the end user and works with SME’s to understand requirements, supporting the definition of features and co-creating user stories and other required artefacts
• Works closely with the customers to ensure epics and features are well documented, and that business priority is understood and aligned with team activities
• Actively participates in team and program ceremonies, backlog refinement sessions, iteration planning activities
• Leads the systems demo after each iteration
• Perform preparation activities for program increment planning, helps drive PI objectives at team level
• Provides continuous feedback on development, and provides story acceptance in accordance with agreed acceptance criteria and ‘definition of done’
• Understands the core technology platform capability and collaborate with developers and Integrators in the best way to meet product objectives, acts as the customer for developer questions
• Works with System Architect to prioritise enablers

The Ideal Candidate For This Role Will Have

• Strong understanding of Mobile Money features and services and design practices towards a One Core Platform Strategy

Experience

• Strong process and analytical skills, able to identify solutions to complex problems.
• Strong business and customer focus, and an appreciation of customer led design and user experience techniques
• Ability to work proactively within a demanding environment
• Able to communicate and influence with tact and diplomacy
• Able to understand and explain complex technical concepts to business stakeholders
• Demonstrable numerical and verbal skills, in particular well-developed written and verbal communication skills in English

Experience

• within a multi-national team serving customers in multiple countries
• Ideally educated to degree level, or equivalent
• 2+ years’ experience in a Product Role
• Working knowledge of Managed Security and Cloud Services like AWS are beneficial
