    MMU Controller (Mpumalanga - Belfast)

    Description

    Duties include; but are not limited to

    • Conduct daily equipment pre-start safety check noting any sub-standard conditions and report such instances to the Site Supervisor.
    • Load the MMU with the correct raw materials.
    • Calibrate the MMU monthly, to ensure that it delivers the correct blend of raw materials.
    • Monitor safety systems on the MMU during operation.
    • Be fully conversant with and able to control the MMU through the IBIS control system and any future variants of the IBIS system.
    • Conduct on bench quality checks on drill pattern, blast hole depths and stemming lengths.
    • Make up primers and prime blast holes.
    • Identification of any abnormal conditions on the MMU and within the work area and reporting thereof to Supervision.
    • Maintain ownership of bulk explosives MMU including housekeeping of the cab, chassis and plant.
    • Minimize and clean up any raw material spillage and dispose of any spillage in the correct waste streams.
    • Contribute to the review and generation of Enaex Africa –  Mining Services Works Instructions.
    • Participate and actively contribute to Enaex Africa –  Mining Services and Customer induced safety initiatives.
    • Conduct 1st line maintenance i.e changing of bled pump, water stator, diesel stator, proxy cable and gassing stator.
    • Decontamination of trucks.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12
    • Possession of a valid  14 Drivers’ license with handling of a manual transmission gear-box.
    • 2 years driving experience in the same license category.
    • Possession of a valid Professional Driver Permit (PrDP) for dangerous goods.
    • Fit to work at heights.

    • Blasting Assistant Certificate.
    • Competency A Certificate.
    • Working at heights Certificate.

    Explosive Operator (North West - Marikana)

    Description

    • Comply with all Customer rules and procedures when operating at Customer sites.
    • Assist the Explosives Controller to conduct routine fault finding, trouble shooting, maintenance and repairs on the MMU process plant and chassis.
    • Assist the Site Administrator with stock control.
    • Load and unload the MMU with the correct raw materials.
    • Unload raw materials (emulsion Matrix and Expan tankers).
    • Cleaning and decontamination of MMU.
    • Identification of any abnormal conditions on the MMU and within the work area and reporting thereof to the Explosives Controller and/or Site Supervisor.
    • Maintain ownership of bulk explosives MMU by conducting good housekeeping of the cab, chassis and plant.
    • Minimize and clean up any raw material spillage and dispose of any spillage in the correct waste streams.
    • Ensure correct PPE is used is in good condition and is correctly worn at all times.
    • Housekeeping of work area.
    • Identify workplace hazards and associated risks and deal with it appropriately ( Hirac & Risk Assessment).
    • Knowledge of relevant hand tools.
    • Knowledge of emergency procedures.
    • Comply to the Mine`s safety and health procedures.
    • Attend to mines induction training.
    • Maintain basic safety, health and environment issues.
    • Assess the product application practices.
    • Identify incorrect product application practices.
    • Demonstrate and coach the correct practices.

    Requirements

    • Must have Grade 12.
    • 1-2 years’ experience in the mining or similar environment.
    • Possession of a valid code C Driver’s license.

    Advantageous

    • Blasting Assistant Certificate.
    • Competency A Certificate.

    KEY COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

    • Working independently.
    • Know safety precautions.
    • Communication skills.
